I definately wish you'd do more of this stuff.and or how to get into jazz drumming.i dig jazz and the drumming it's just hard. Rock is like listen and do. Jazz has so much more finesse to it I don't even know where to start
Thanks for sharing this ! The paradiddle diddle sticking for the first part seems to work best for me. It’s amazing how Max and Philly Joe came up with all this stuff with the rudiments…
I think I know the answer to this, George, but did everything the great old timers play derive from rudiments? I listened to the Max link and right after he played what you demonstrated Max played a few licks I've heard Bonham do dozens of times.
Yes, I think it was very fundamental to have at least the basic rudiments together. Max of course took it to a whole other level, orchestrating around the kit with these inventive combinations.
Love these break-down analysis videos. Thanks for the lesson Professor!
Max is king for sure. Thanks!
loved it! max is just the next level of jazz drumming
Excellently played Mr. Fludas! Even today, nobody gets around the drums like Max. Master!

Great lesson Mr. Flutis, absolutely learning this one!!!
Thanks, that's great PZ!
Beautiful man!!
Very cool. Thanks for playing the alternate sticking patterns as well. Those accents are going to cause me to use foul language. 😄
Cheers 🍻
