@Just A Proud Mexican-American hello and thanks you too!
Things practically the size of a Honda HR-V on the outside, and WOW ITS WAY BIGGER ON THE INSIDE, gotta give credit to ford there👍
Hey Scotty! Nice Video! This is the owner of the 03' LS430 you shot the other week, any idea on when the video will be uploaded? I'm chomping at the bit!
Scotty what do you think of SYNC? Remember that video of the car that talks to you?

If Scotty's ever arrested and handcuffed, the cops wouldn't have to advise him of his right to be silent. No way he can talk with his hands immobilized.
They should just call them station wagons. LOL
Yep, that's exactly what it is. I was born in 1954, and my parents had a '58 Chevy wagon. I'm guessing that about 1/2 of the families in the neighborhood had wagons. From what I have seen over the years, SUV's are made because they are considered trucks. With the gas mileage laws, passenger cars are held to stricter mileage requirements than trucks, so they make trucks.

I rented a low mileage 2019 or 2020 Escape and took it round trip from Phoenix to Lake of the Ozarks in Central Missouri. I was very impressed with it. It holds its’ own on Interstates next to the big rigs. As much as we mock at the overdose of electronics, all the ones on board with this one worked and actually made for better safety. Took many hours to find them all and get the radio to work with an iPhone. That was the biggest challenge, but when it’s all synced up, it was a great vehicle.
We own a 2015 Escape hands down the best car in my life!

I'm listening to this in my 2015 2.0 Turbo titanium Escape with 125,000 miles. These are really good vehicles for the money. I think mine will go 300,000 plus miles.
Maintain it, and it could last 300k or more.
Yea, no it won't lol

My wife has one of these, it goes like a go kart, just remember to disable the auto start stop feature Everytime you start it.
I bought the 2018 S model, which is the base model but it has a 2.5 L and no turbo, which means it will probably last longer and so far, it gets the job done. No luxury but for the pace it has, I think it's a good option. Btw, no turbo lag! 👌🏼

I have a 2013 escape with 125k miles on her and she holds all her fluids. Not a drop burns or leaks. I've been worried since Scotty dogs on the GDI turbo engines so much but ford seems to have this one pretty solid. At least in my case 🤷🏽
I'm approaching 100K on mine. I've been worried because of Scotty too. So this is encouraging!
@@mcc7762 yeah I do all the recommended maintenance myself. Just did the trans flush and spark plugs change at 120k. I was taking it to the stealership but they kept saying I had an oil leak, and every time I brought it in for something the oil leak was in a different place and doubled in price 🙄 strange thing is I never lost any oil for having this mysterious moving oil leak 😂
I own a 2013 Escape, also. Anyone ever had to change out their dead battery??? It was ridiculous. They put the battery under the dash. I will never buy another Escape again because of that.

I had an 08 Buick rendezvous loved the amount of room of interior too bad the engine was crap. Now have 16 escape and hate it but runs great.
Now I’m going to have to watch all Of Scotty’s vids all the way through so I don’t miss him moving. When you have a large stockpile you have to let things go on a move.
The Escapes are good cars! I have leased my third one now and I have always had a great ride and very reliable.
I hope so i just bought one 🙏
I have a 2014 escape with 160,000 miles with a 2.0 . No problems just spark plugs . The 2.0 turbo is a better engine a runs pretty good...
As a tech who works at a Ford dealer, if you get a newer escape, get the 2.5L 4cy NATURALLY ASPIRATED. Great engines, esp if you take care of them. Not very powerful, but easy to maintain and reliable. DO NOT get the ecoboost. The 2020+ Escapes you can only get with an ecoboost.
We had the 2.0 ecoboost titanium.
That engine seems to hold up better than the 1.5/1.6 ecoboost.
But I agree with you the 2.5 naturally aspirated is much better than the ecoboost.
Is a 2022 1.5L with Ecoboost ok?
I drive a 2012 ford escape limited . It's the last model of escape that was an actual SUV before ford started making them all crossovers. I wish they would go back to the old body style.
Same. So much cooler looking.
That’s what the bronco sport did
Same I have a 2009, and I see the escapes now look nothing like my car
I am considering buying a 2011 limited hybrid. Any advice?
I have a 2006 Ford Escape it’s 14 years old and gets its regular oil changes every 3 months still going strong 💪🏽 olny thing I changed on it was the radio system to a 7 inch touchscreen with apple CarPlay and android auto with a backup camera
I had this escape (2015), the next one (2017), and I’m now buying the hybrid (2020). Love this car.
@John Jalas Its a lease.

I've had eight Ford vehicles, from an '03 Ranger, six F150s and a '13 Focus hatchback. I can't say I was the biggest fan of the Focus. Low profile tires sucked, rode a bit on the cheap end, though, it was the loaded Titanium. Got out of that and jumped back to an F150. Traded in normally to avoid warranty expiration. I finally landed on a '19 F150 with 2.7L Ecoboost. I plan on keeping this one. Done with the trading in. It rides great, shifts great, and engine is as smooth as it can be. I baby all of my vehicles. This one is certainly no different. I have no complaints about Ford really. I trust their F150 lineup. With as long as they have been manufacturing, they know what works and what doesn't with those pickups.
I hope the 1 percent of you guys who see this have a wonderful day

Scotty, that's a 2016 or earlier. I have a 2017 and my wife has a 2018 and we love them. We both have the 2 liter turbo.
I thought they stopped making the 1.6 in 2014 or 15? Then started using the 1.5. With the 4 wheel drive that should have a 2.0. If just front wheel drive it would have a 1.5.
We had base model 2017 Escapes as fleet vehicles at a former employer. A majority of them had misfire issues that the dealer couldn't fix, and a couple had their transmissions go before 100k. Nice interior, but rough ride.
I have a 2014 Ford Escape and it's been great.
Can't wait for part 2 of your history of Mazda video!
Surprised you didn't comment on the battery location. Just had to swap out the battery in mine. You have to remove either the air box or the windshield wipers and cowl to get at it. Those stores that usually change batteries for you if you buy one of theirs laughed at me and said no way.
I like the old ones with the column shifter.
I really like my 2016 Escape - no turbo, but runs strong like tank!

Ours has the 2.0 Ecoboost which has a lot more power than the 1.6...great pickup for a little crossover. Zero problems in 84K miles. Seats could be a little comfier on a long drive. All in all, a really nice product from Ford.

Those 1.6L Ecoboost engines are known to catch fire due to a oil pipe leaking and dropping oil on the turbo/exhaust. Here in the UK at least it was a problem with the Sigma engine. Battery terminal issues were highlighted in couple of cases.

Scotty looking on the burned out side, tired needing a break. As a tech I would not recommend thiese with the 1.6l as they tend to blow head gaskets between cyl two and three. Done three in a week just testing them with a pressure test and coolant was found in the cylinders. First sign of it is when it is first started in the morning with a noticeable misfire that clears up after a few mins.

If I was going to live in a vehicle, other than an actual motorhome, I'd have to choose a conversion van of some sort (Ford or Chevy - doesn't matter to me), they can be found pretty cheap 15 to 20 years old. and reliable.

Know somebody who had a 2013 Escape 2.5 base model. It blew its transmission with low miles (I can't remember the number, but I remember being surprised at how low the mileage was). Not sure if the 2.5 used the PowerShift or the regular torque-converter unit but it reinforced my opinion of Ford of being sometimes unreliable.
