Amazing, I love the fact you didn't have to remove your seats at all, same time feel like your losing space if you did remove them, overall its amazing, I would probably add a single solar 100w and fan / Space heater to complete it all off for those cold and hot days and nights. Overall for such a small vehicle you made it all work very well.

I’ve watched a ton of camper conversion videos and decided (finally ha ha) to search Ford Escape ones…Okay…Mind blown 🤯 15 seconds into your video I found out something that I didn’t know and nobody else apparently knew either bc nobody told me…The bottom part of the seat flips forward and creates a flat surface…WHAAAAT?!? I’ve had my 2010 Ford Escape for almost 7 years! I was just getting ready to build my platform and now I’m (happily) rethinking how I want to do it. So glad you showed that! Your build is awesome. I’m about to watch the other 2 you have about it. Thank you!!!

I agree with your sleeping arrangements. I lived in a friend's SUV for 5 months the summer of 2014. we would go to state parks and stealth sleep. in morning before park opened we would park way away from everyone else and cook on a 2burner propane camp stove. this was done till we could afford to go to a private campground, and stay for a whole month.

Wow! Thank you! This is awesome. I have been looking and looking for a good way to organize my jeep. I've tried the tubs and found it extremely annoying digging through them all the time. This is THE BEST idea I have seen. I'm not a carpenter, but I'm thinking I will keep a lookout for a coffee table, side tables etc with drawers that I can use. Maybe just saw the legs off or whatever and cover with the plywood.... I can handle a handsaw and a hammer! LOL! Anyway, I'm very impressed. Good job.

I have an 07 Escape. Your set up is a job well done. I use heavy window screen that I cut to the out side window size and use heavy magnets to secure them. Living in Fl., it certainly help with heat and keeps mosquitos out.

Even with a thin uncomfortable mattress you are tight in there sleeping. I don't like sleeping in coffins. You should have started with the bed arrangement then build from there. The bed looks like an after thought and impractical.

    AIR:
One thing most vids like this don't mention is the air flow issue.
In some cases vehicles with the windows sealed totally shut and vents etc also, you could suffocate from carbon monoxide.
Therefore, it is advisable to leave your window(s) open an inch or two to allow for air flow.
Other than that, your a crafty guy.
    Ciao

This is great, however it’s very apparent that carpentry and craftsmanship you have exceeds the lever of your average person. Man I’d pay you to make the same for my escape. I have a 2010 in mint shape with 180k miles that is love to do this to.

I like the set up. The kitchenette is obviously a priority for you, and the rest of the platform gives you ample storage space. BUT you have tons of wasted space vertically. There is space between the red top if the stove and the underside of the pullout box. The pullout box has a top (probably just to make your box square while assembling it) then that is covered with an additional top. The pantry drawer has almost nothing standing up above the bottom of cutout, with lots of room inside the drawer to lay those 1 or 2 items down. The Independent kitchen surface is extra thick for what you are using it for and it is not level with the other surface anyway. You can do better with another version! I am basing this solely off what I can see. So unless you have a tall lobster pot or a folding canopy that takes up the entirety of the box's height, you can adjust everything and probably save 10% of the structures weight. A drop of 1.5-2" is gonna be noticeable getting in and out of sleeping compartment!

Cooker hangs out further than the tailgate. Bit awkward cooking in the rain! Lots of swapping things over from one to the other, move this to allow that and again all done from outside the vehicle. Pray it isn't pouring down! Then you need a good dense hedge - for when you need a shit! 🙄 no toilet.
