Oh my god. I recognize that computer. That’s an Hp Omen Obelisk and has to be the most dog water computer I’ve ever used. No airflow, cheap parts, barely any fans, closed front panel, a graphics card heatsink that’s legitimately smaller than one I have for a GT 640, and overall is made to overheat. How he uses it as a daily driver, I have no idea.
Seeing him say he's had the same keyboard for twenty years shocks me. Mines only 11 years old now and I'm already looking for a new one- I would say 'if it's not broken - don't fix it' but his was broken...
This set up and still one of the best minecraft players, remember he won decked out like this and runs the longest LP series, these youngins should take notes
It's so funny because my Uncle has done this with his old keyboard. He's had to get PS2 to USB adapters (PS2 was the old keyboard port on the back of computers) in order to keep using the same keyboard he stole from his office back in the early 90s. He says the modern ones don't feel as nice to use and the click-clacks are completely different. He's not wrong, it's certainly a much better feel!
Agreed. "They don't make 'em like they used to" used to be a joke about old-timers being biased by their rose-tinted view of the past. Today it's largely just true for tech products. Everything is designed to be as weak and flimsy as possible! I've had my current laptop for ~4 years and it is starting to bug out on the audio-jack output for headphones already. Meanwhile my previous laptop from ~2010 lasted without fail up until around ~2022. That's 3x the lifespan!! The laptops are even from the same company and same type, I just upgraded to the latest version at the time. Same story with phones and tablets. It's a shame really, I'd be happy to pay 2x the price if I actually got to use the device for a solid length of time. Apparently most companies don't realise (or don't care) though!
So, i use a laptop for gaming. So i very rarely use a mouse. But when i do, i use a non-specified mouse so that i can switch sides of the computer as needed. And i never get the buttons messed up somehow. But also, i thumb-shift. And i only walk forwards, never to the side or backwards. And my other hand presses space, but not woth the thumb, with the middle and ring fingers. And my pinky finger rests on the escape button.

the more i remember this (the episode where they ranked everyone i mean) the less wierd mumbo's thumb shifting becomes in my head. bc like hes left handed, uses right handed conrols so his pinky is probably too weak for the amount of shifting he probably has to do, thus it makes sense that hed use his thumb which is stronger instead. i do NOT understand etho but i do think its slightly less wierd if it was wrongfully written "armpits" in the survey instead of "armrests" which just means his chair is very high up. the mouse thing is inexplicable though lmao
@@LibraryofAcousticMagic3240 His desk is at shoulder height and his chair is at its lowest position. Also so by looking at the image, he may be short 🙃
the worst part I feel second hand judged, as I also have my mouse sideways, I swear, it isn't that hard of a shift and is somewhat more comfortable, I can do both ways but choose sideways while not in public where I can be judged.
And here I was thinking it was weird to have my sprint on the 2 key (it's directly above my W key so I just have to move my index finger up a little to sprint)
I'm currently using a keyboard that has 10/23/01 written on the back in permanent marker, the windows button has the windows xp logo with waves behind it. Found it in a dumpster and it worked great. I reckon it's got another 23 years left in it at least
10 years ago I was looking for a keyboard with Cherry MX Red Switches so I bought the cheapest one I could find, QPAD MK-50. Still using it daily and I'm very much looking forward to another 10 years with it! 😹🐱
I appreciate how low the standards are for playing weird and then there’s Etho 😂 Personally I started playing as a little kid so mind is kinda weird. Inverted mouse (never played a game before Minecraft on computer, idk what happened). R for sprint, u for crouch, and t for throw.
I'm on Etho's side. I had my mouse and keyboard for 9 years before they both broke at the same time. I bought the exact same mouse but my keyboard was discontinued. The idea of getting used to a new keyboard was so overwhelming to me that i cried over it as an adult woman
To be fair. As a canadian, this isn't that weird. Tech stuff is pricy, and you get used to your stuff and dont want to change it, ive used a rockband mic for the ps3 on its stand sitting next to my chair before, and a box fan blowing into an open pc to keep it cool playing games (it was a 3rd gen i3 go easy on me)
Between his set up and his everyday sandwich, my autistic brain just goes “autism!” Is he autistic? No clue. Doesn’t matter. But my brain sure does see how he talks about stuff and goes “yep that’s some brain weirdness right there.” Same with Mumbo too tbh. Love these weirdos.
The craziest thing to me about all this is that he still has more mouse space than I did with my first setup in 2013. I always had my sensitivity set to hyperspeed because I barely had enough mouse space to look around in the game. That was my setup for nearly a decade before I finally upgraded everything, but if what Etho is saying is correct, he's been using this setup for twice that time with little changes 💀
I kinda feel bad for Etho, every Hermit/friend shames him for having setup that works for him and he's comfortable with it. He doesn't need to fix what isn't broken (except for space, mic stand and that monitor he doesn't use) I'm pretty sure that even if the keyboard is 20y old, it can only get so dirty... I doubt that it's dirtier than most keyboards being used daily, unless he literally takes dirt and mud from outside then it's not dirtier than most keyboards. He's humble in a way... hmmm in a hermit kind of way. Doesn't need fancy stuff, uses stuff that's little bit broken instead of creating waste and buying new stuff. Imagine shaming your friend for not buying new stuff everytime something breaks a little. For me this is another common Etho W.

Mines only 11 years old now and I'm already looking for a new one-
I would say 'if it's not broken - don't fix it' but his was broken...
Nah dude let him keep it the new ones start double inputs or skipping inputs within a year its infuriating
Seing Iskall in a vid is so weird after whats come out now😓
Real
I think the reason why Etho uses the klenex box its to Dampen the sound of his Bear in the backyard
I need to know if that picture at 0:47 is one Eefo took or if it’s a recreation
That's an actual picture of his desk, it's in his S10 e5 HermitCraft video
This set up and still one of the best minecraft players, remember he won decked out like this and runs the longest LP series, these youngins should take notes
It's so funny because my Uncle has done this with his old keyboard. He's had to get PS2 to USB adapters (PS2 was the old keyboard port on the back of computers) in order to keep using the same keyboard he stole from his office back in the early 90s. He says the modern ones don't feel as nice to use and the click-clacks are completely different. He's not wrong, it's certainly a much better feel!
7:20 "as a cusheon", not "Especially".
It just kept getting worse 😂💀
My head hurts....Etho is just....WHY.
I tried the mouse thing, and wow is it comfy, may start doing that
keeping your elbow on the desk is actually really good for the health of your wrists
The Tango yips are hilarious 😂
The episode where Mumbo ranking the hermits weirdness is right under this video 😭
Its like an upgraded version of techno's set up where you upgrade it you get a plus 1 monitor lol
This is clutch, I needed this
Oh this clip came out again, it's still funny!
I find pretty endearing seeing Etho is as practical in-game as he is in real life
On my new mechanical keyboard, I already had to replace the keys twice.
I WISH I had a keyboard that can last you 20 years.
I love how Jimmy's the only one to defend Etho's setup 😂
So, i use a laptop for gaming. So i very rarely use a mouse. But when i do, i use a non-specified mouse so that i can switch sides of the computer as needed. And i never get the buttons messed up somehow.
But also, i thumb-shift. And i only walk forwards, never to the side or backwards. And my other hand presses space, but not woth the thumb, with the middle and ring fingers. And my pinky finger rests on the escape button.
2004 keyboards were archaic
Funny how many times Joel has broken his keyboard vs Etho having the same one for 20 yeats
Damn that's such a strong keyboard if it survives 20 yeats
you're telling me this keyboard is older than me
Well, at least Etho has a set up. Cleo has cans as a mouse pad!
This setup actually makes sense. 😅
the definition of "if it works, its not broken"
Sorry- TWENTY FREAKING YEARS ETHO?! THAT KEYBOARD IS OLDER THAN ME BY ALMOST A DECADE 😱
you're too young to be here
@@beafbuger No? I’m not? I think you underestimate how many teens both have a UA-cam account and are in this fandom
@@HarmonyMoonbeam024 I believe beaf is assuming you’re under the age of 13 which I believe is the minimum age to create a UA-cam account. I do agree that beaf is underestimating the amount of young people who watch the hermits. Anyway I’m sure you’re already aware, but do be careful of discussing your age online as there’s a lot of predators. Sorry if this came across as unwarranted nagging. Peace ✌️
@@beepboop2803 Yeah, probably. Though idk how many children under 13 would be able to spell that legibly with the direction gen-alpha seems to be going atm /j. Also yes! I’m very aware of the age thing and I do have a plan for if someone does ever try to pull those shenanigans on me (though thankfully it’s never happened before): report, block, move on with life. And don’t worry, your comment didn’t come across that way at all :3 I quite appreciate the concern
@@beafbuger buh its Hermitecraft
the more i remember this (the episode where they ranked everyone i mean) the less wierd mumbo's thumb shifting becomes in my head. bc like hes left handed, uses right handed conrols so his pinky is probably too weak for the amount of shifting he probably has to do, thus it makes sense that hed use his thumb which is stronger instead.
i do NOT understand etho but i do think its slightly less wierd if it was wrongfully written "armpits" in the survey instead of "armrests" which just means his chair is very high up. the mouse thing is inexplicable though lmao
I think the desk is up to his elbows not armpits, that would at least align with the pcitures shown and what I gathered from Etho himself
@@LibraryofAcousticMagic3240 His desk is at shoulder height and his chair is at its lowest position. Also so by looking at the image, he may be short 🙃
in mumbo's ep, i love how everyone just **loses it** whenever etho says a new thing about his set up lmfao
etho is terrifying but i dont even play minecraft and when i do im on mobile so..
Oh the mic in the tissue box it actually SO SMART!! I htoght it was a monitor stand or somehting thingy
Etho has a minimalist desk setup; while having outrageous builds in Minecraft
I'm only slightly older than his keyboard. That's wild
the worst part I feel second hand judged, as I also have my mouse sideways, I swear, it isn't that hard of a shift and is somewhat more comfortable, I can do both ways but choose sideways while not in public where I can be judged.
this has to be an elaborate joke i refuse to believe this
And here I was thinking it was weird to have my sprint on the 2 key (it's directly above my W key so I just have to move my index finger up a little to sprint)
1:18 where is this clip from i need to knowwww
^Minecraft 👍 Hope this helps
@@deathvai364She didn't mean the game they were playing, she asked where its from.
It's from the internet, hope this helps!
I also dont have a mic stand, tissue box works, dont use toilet roll it will always fall over
etho lowkey a multi millionare from youtube and his setup is straight out of the early 2000s
Etho's posture... dear lord
that keyboard is 9 months older than me
0:49 the moment a man knows he’s been had
I actually do the same thing with my mouse, and it puts so much less stress on your wrist.
I'm currently using a keyboard that has 10/23/01 written on the back in permanent marker, the windows button has the windows xp logo with waves behind it. Found it in a dumpster and it worked great. I reckon it's got another 23 years left in it at least
I think it makes perfect sense tbh
Ethos keyboard is just about older than I am
10 years ago I was looking for a keyboard with Cherry MX Red Switches so I bought the cheapest one I could find, QPAD MK-50. Still using it daily and I'm very much looking forward to another 10 years with it! 😹🐱
Jimmy, “The chair doesn’t go under the desk.” Me raises my chair 3:52
AYO! SEE IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS THEIR MOUSE INFRONT OF THEIR KEYBOARD!!!!!
the fact that he won decked out 2 with that setup is very impressive
Oh my god its ethodesk from mr ethoslab
i mean... i can imagine using his setup... what i can't imagine however is impulse playing inverted
To be fair, I hold my mouse the same as Etho, it's way more comfortable.
I... I hold my mouse in the same way.
I am now self-conscious about this.
For me this is another common Etho W.
okay but the mouse thing actually makes sense, might have to switch up myself
