Well, personally I think this recommendation is for people with greater strength, perhaps. I used to train with a Stiga WRB back in the day (20 years ago) and it was pretty light. Played with it and got to National Level II Player of China by winning a city-level tournament. I recently came back to the game and tried Viscaria. Not enough control. Switched to Nittaku Basaltec Innerforce, loved it. Paired it with Hurricane National version for forehand and D64 for backhand, weighed 179g. It felt so heavy, and perhaps had something to do with the center of gravity of the blade being closer to the head. Then switched it to G1 and S1, and now it weighs 171g. Feels awesome now. Honestly, if you're not pro player with consistent away from the table play, a lighter blade is much much better since it allows for faster recovery and acceleration, which would more than compensate for a less dense blade. After all, it is all a matter of preference.

Hi, it's me again. I just remembered to my earlier comment, and I'm here to tell, that I am having progress. I have many rackets heavier than before, and after training to execute swings with those, my game got noticeably more stable and powerful. My current rackets: Yinhe Pro Feeling + max. I started playing with Stiga Offensive Classic with Yasaka Rigan 2.0 on both sides, then tried H3 on forehand for 4 months, then Yasaka Rakza Z on forehand, then Yasaka Mark V on backhand, then switched to Avalox P500 blade which is my current setup at 184 grams. My next upgrade will be Yasaka Mark V HPS on backhand, but I am in no rush to change equipment. I think its smart to take small steps into your level and I have found the speed, flexibilty, hardness, control etc. that I like right now. Mark V rubbers are light weight, so it is good to pair with the heavy rubber of Rakza Z.
I like a medium weight racket the most. It makes me put more effort into a forehand topspin and prevents me from having a bad technique. Sometimes it is hard to play my backhand but with some weight training for the forearms it doesn't feel too heavy
Yes indeed the centre of gravity will give you the sense of ‘heavy’ or ‘light’ one .. I prefer light blade as I like to play close to the table .. thank you coach

I use a Sanwei King Kong 2 blade with a Kokutaku 868 bluesponge on the forehand and. Yinhe Uranus Pro on the backhand with s total of 188g, what is your opinion about my equiment?
I am curious about serving... Does a heavy setup/blade give you more advantages ? I believe that the serving and receive is a huge part of the game, a lot of points are decided at this stage. Service is one of my strong points and I find that very heavy setups do not allow me to be as deceptive as I can be with a lighter one. Then again I don't mean feather light ! But on a reverse pendulum, you can can be much faster with a lighter version... my opinion and my "feel" in any case. What do you say ? On the receive side of the things a heavy racket will provide better control and more spin on the return... I believe.
I think it's a matter of personal taste. After I quit for a entire year due to Covid-19 I feel muscle paint after a while when FH/BH transition or back flicking /bh. OTOH new trend rubbers become harder&harder, denser so heavier too, so it's almost imposible to choose any light but solid combo with enough speed. My last setup was close to the 200gr range, but I think I'll go back to my light acoustic in order to prevent injuries until I get used once again with proper training.

Hi Alexander, I love playing R7 on my backhand and especially on the Fextra blade because it gives me good feeling and control when blocking topspin balls from my opponents . The fextra is a (in my opinion) fast but controlable blade with a little flex. Topspin balls, in my case with R7 on the backhand, are very easy to play on the Fextra. 180g only for zjk alc and h3?
How about your glue?
@@pingsunday The weights just my estimate for now (I know my blade weighs 86 grams and cut D05 should weigh 45 grams when cut), I will update when I actually get a scale 🤣. As for the glue, if I remember correctly, is DHS no.15 (VOC free) and the booster is haifu seamoon (for the Hurricane 3 FH side only)
Buy a scale, then comment.
Donic Skachkov carbon 88g. + rubber = 188g.
I have several rackets, my main racket is at 175gr. I keep all my practice rackets within 3 grams of my main so the feeling stays the same.
So light. What is your playing style?
@@pingsunday Mostly close to the table or mid distance counters. I have T05 on the fh and a light soft rubber on the bh.
175 or 185 Is Perfect For Me . I'm Using a Xiom Hayabusa ZXI with O7A Max 182gr. 💖
What about penhold ???, you didn't give information .

I have Koki Niwa racket blade. I think its very good for me!
Is 195g consider a heavy racket or not? If anyone know that answer me please..
Around 195 to 220g is heavy. But it depends on your playing style

Hi coach..my racket weight is 195g and I have it for almost 2 years and I play close to the table, I didn't know that my racket is heavy. Should I play far from the table until I buy a lighter blade? because I want to play close to the table.. Please answer my question..
But I haven't try to play far from the table.
Me too haha.
My raquet is 181g im not really a attacker im more of a chopper that chop from further from table im planning to buy 200g raquet or 150g but i think im going for heavier racker but 181g already feel very heavy and hard to swing i think its like you say my raquet heavy point is on the top for mine
When he wrote "all use viscaria", what does he means? who? young chinese? why? weight?
Joola kool with tenergy 80 fx and tenergy 05 is mine setup!hello from romania!
I like heavy as light racket I dont feel
I prefer light but fast 😀
My current racket weighs about 190g and I think your guidelines are very accurate. 185-188g would be perfect for me, too. My blade is relatively heavy (Apolonia ZLC 93g), so next time I'll select a lighter one (88-90g).
No one really cares what is the weight of your racket
my racket ways 198g and i think it is little to heavy for me. i think i counter attack more than looping far from the table.
Is you stay close to the table, you should use lighter blade
Goriki from nittaku🎯
I just weighed my paddle now, and its 194g
I play Long Pips OX, i want a low weight blade to use my wrist as much as possible
Yes. Pips OX player likes light blade and balsa. What is your blade? About 175g?
@@pingsunday Im Using a Carbon blade it isnt that extremly light weight, but more than other def blades. Im Using a Dr Neubauer Bloodhound with Carbon. I cant get used to balsa and i think it isnt that good for OX Pips :)
201gr
Thank you!

My one is 184
200 gram chinese rubbers and chinese blade
Crazy. You use as heavy as ma long racket 👌😂
@@pingsunday yes it is. Once a while before I used 215 gram. A 96g to 105g with double chinese rubber. So smooth acceleration, but my hand moves so slowly
@@pingsunday 42 dhs scale of hardness rubber both sides. Red on FH because both sponges are already on the same hardness. Red topsheet is harder, slower in speed but more spinny, sometimes it just almost render slip shots or literraly slips the ball although excellent stroke js done
Mine is 217 is it a problem to play with such high weight??
Now I play with 160x152 custom with 5.85 thickness, outer alc limba outer plies with double hurricane rubbers
