This storm has been officially classed as a derecho, (a.k.a land hurricane,) with winds exceeding 100mph by National Weather Service.

100mph winds should not be a problem regardless of how its classified. The problem is installers of building materials and assessors . If you don’t use the proper length nail and spacing of those nails, your roof decking will be sucked off from 100mph wind going across it. The low pressure outside is going to want to equalize the higher pressure in the attic (or living space).

@@Once_in_a_Lifetime Do you understand just how strong 100mph winds are? It's enough to flip a car. Those skyscraper buildings are rated for hurricanes as is being in Houston and normally would be able to handle those kinds of winds. That Derecho had no problem shredding them.

@@StormChaserMaci. yes, we’ve had 100mph sustained winds come across Indiana more than once. One house in a relatively new addition had its roof sucked off in 100mph winds. Didn’t lose any vinyl siding and no other houses had damage to roofs or siding. No trees down because new addition had no trees. If you follow code on nails required and spacing, that kind of roof should not have lifted off. Point this at the contractor, not the wind. I guess its more exciting to say you was up against the force of mother nature than say your dodging debris from a lazy contractor that scams his customers.

@@Once_in_a_Lifetime Ah. Makes sense though. Common sense says follow building codes, and there shouldn't be issues, at least not big issues.

If only we had science to warn us of things like this happening from global warming! Guess not believing in it didn’t save these people. 😂

Climate change is a hoax. To steal money and control people. The weather is the same now. As it was in the past.

Lol, blew out windows! No, suck out windows! That’s probably is a contractor installation fault. 100mph is not hurricane like winds. Can get conditions where winds sometimes come across in Indiana without storms. That why building code must be followed or any wind can cause damage. Its very important in very high winds like in Florida. They don’t blame the contractors because that means the contractors and government know the inspectors cannot check installers while their doing it. Best just to make your insurance pay instead of making responsible people pay for the repair. No one wants to blow the lid off of cutting cost in construction but we sure like to point out building material and installation corruption in China!

They should stop playing with the weather and targeting certain areas over and over again .
President Kennedy said back when he was in office there would be weather control something to that effect .
