Just moved into a new home that has this exact hrv system. First time I've owned a home that's had one, so I had no real idea how to maintain it, or proper ways to run it. Both this video and the one you did on how to set the controls were very clear and concise, so thank you kindly for making them for us. Very much appreciated. All the best to you!
This video is so helpful. I wish the company that had installed the unit gave us instructions this good. Thank you so much. I'm saving this for future reference.
Thank you for the info...one thing though, make sure that the medium used in the core is metal as your was....ours was not metal and would have possibly been damaged is it have been immersed in water... I washed the green filters and vacuumed the core... thanks again good job!
Hello, No, removing and cleaning the core doesn't damage it keeping in mind, not to press on it. Just remove it and rinse it with water. Please don't use high pressure spray or brushes.
Hello! Need some help please, My hrv is on 10/50.... %RH is 50, humidity is 49 and fan is 1. Is this the right winter setting. Current temp outside is -2 @@How2
HRV system can ventilate the air. In summer, if you are not using AC and you open windows, then best is 10 minutes ventilation and 50 minutes standby. If you got AC and windows are closed, then 20 minutes ventilation and 40 minutes standby. This system cannot remove moisture in summers as outside humidity is usually high. For that you will need to use Dehumidifier system.
Thanks for the video. Just wanted to know one more thing. Some say the core should be thoroughly dry before installing it again after cleaning. How much is that true? Specially if cleaned in winter otherwise it can frost. Is that true?
Hello, Vore doesn't need to be completely dry but it should be holding any water either. Best is to rinse it, turn it few times to remove water. Leave it for 10 15 minutes and rotate. If you see or hear water still moving around give it more time to dry. As any leftover water can be removed by HRV through condensate line but if its too much, it will turn into ice. Just in case, lets say it freezes, HRV have automatic Defrost mode to clear that as well.
So, in my unit (as with other units), the ERV is mounted in the ceiling. There are no green pad holders/clips.... So, after cleaning the filters and such, my questions: 1) Do I just press the green pads against the filter and they will stay in place? 2) when sides of the core do I place the green pads? Any help is appreciated!
Hello, 1. If you dont have holder or clips, it's okay. Newer models are without. 2. Filters go where the air is coming in the unit. One goes where air comes from outdoor and 2nd goes where air comes from indoor. Usually its on the top left and right side.
Hello, Do you 69 Max with 2 Cores? There should be 2 filters. One on top right and one on left bottom. If thia is not the case, if you give me full model number and i will be able to answer better. But as far as I have seen, all HRV have 2 filters. One on Supply and one on Exhaust Air Stream.
i think i have a bad connection on this because my fan is alwase working even if i put to run 20 min / hours its just alwase working? would you mind showing the connection on your lifebreath?
Hello, I sure can make video for the wiring. But i think issue is not the wiring. Please check from below- 1. Your HRV setting is as 10/hour Ventilation and 50/ Stand-by OR 20/hour Ventilation and 40/ Stand-by. Don't mistake this for 20/hour Ventilation and 40/hour recirculation. 2. Dehumidistat setting on very top right is set higher than your humidity number. 3. Furnace Fan is on Auto. Not on Always ON 4. Also if your washrooms timer have humidity sensor, that can also run HRV for long hours to remove humidity. Please check these and let me know.
This is great! I bought a new house and the builder didn't leave any manual with this unit so this video is perfect!

Does the 69 Max series only have one filter on the outside of the core? I’m not sure if I’m missing a filter or is it only needs one filter?

May I know if you unplug the HRV before you opened and cleaned?
You can shut it OFF or also when HRV Unit face panel is opened there is auto shut switch on top right corner, which will cut off the power.
What happens if I put the filter in wrong position for about 8 hours after cleaning? 😢
Hey,
Nothing much happens, its just furnace have to work extra hard to push the air through.
You don't have to worry.
Thanks

@@How2 right now 20/hour Ventilation and 40/ Stand-by. this is the setting i have my humidity set at 28
@@How2 even when my Fan is set at 0 the fan on my bathroom still working 24/24
Does your washroom timer have humidity sensors?
if its turn on all year you will be paying lots for gas in winter time
Great vedio and very helpful
