seeing Light with those big, innocent eyes after losing his memories is so weird. even when he was pretending to be a good guy before, he never looked like that, and it's almost... heartbreaking to think that's how he could've been if he'd never touched the death note. it really is just like soichiro said, anyone with that power is cursed.
You guys need to keep the "broadcasted criminals" part in mind. Light could have scheduled killings for every day he was locked in, but those killings wouldn't include criminals that was first broadcast after his incarceration. Only criminals broadcast before, which means that the killings wouldn't matter as it pertains to Light's innocence, so long as you suspect he can schedule killings in the first place. Only killings that would affect his perception of innocence is if newly broadcast criminals keep dying. Those two weeks worth of criminals dying at once included newly broadcast criminals, which is the important part.
The long con is finally on. Its unfortunate but its quite difficult to follow this con fully, with the episodes being watched in such a sparce manner. That's a thing in this show, especially at this point in the anime. Some stuff will become clear after a span of 5 episodes or so. Aka 5 weeks. Might wanna kick it up a notch.
for the 'have them die in 50 years thing'. I think there is a set parameter of how long someone can be made to be controlled before they die, though I don't remember that exact rule, but I do know that as long as it's before that person's natural life span ends you can write their name in the note book. Otherwise if you want them to die in like 3 days, but they die 2 days after you write it, then they'll die of whatever would have killed them beforehand.
They did say it in passing later on in the series how long they can control someone for based on all the killings but it was really quick on passing and dont remember exactly
