@@danielkeogh1488i think diorama is a great compromise that we got from the band both heavy and artistic. but i can see the disappointment if people were expecting another neon ballroom. i think now looking back at their discography diorama is still the best record they put out
jesus christ...i 100% get why daniel wanted to stop writing music like this...and I find everything he touched post 2000 to be near perfect. but, back when he was writing music like this...holy shit _could_ he. this song is musically fascinating as well as just thrilling in general.
Doing music like this is mentally draining in the long run. All these songs were written out of anger during multiple potentially fatal health issues. Of course he doesn't want to relive that
He wrote a whole album after Neon Ballroom that was gonna be the heaviest yet. Heaps of songs more like this and Spawn Again but deleted it cos he was sick of doing anger and didn’t want to be stuck in that genre.
this is definetly the most compelx song of the kind of metal and grunge stuff hes was doing its really nice, would be nice to see a few more of these but he kind of dropped this a left the genre haha. Not saying softer silverchair was bad though
"This song is dedicated to Ronaldo! He is our friend! We're friends with Ronaldo, your fucking soccer star! Yeah! Let's cheer for Ronaldo... yeah, right!" And then starts the song! It got me shivers to remember.... good old days!
10 years late but this is wrong. The song is in E Standard, but the 6th string is tuned to B. this means making a power chord shape on the 5th and 6th string makes an octave.
@maomaotittymcmao Technically, you are going to lose waaay more audio fidelity from an album than from a high definition mp3. Also, mp3's quality isn't going to diminish over time. The song will sound the same 70 years from now
Don't know how my wife's account popped up, but some of you better wake the hell up and appreciate "Talent" period, and yet some of you don't have a talentless football player making millions a year on your complaint list...........
Ya really. Vinyl deteriorates, becomes brittle, and the groovings responsible for the musical replay become detoned with replays. Albums are a nice piece of antiquated hipster technology, but it is inferior. It is nostalgia that makes you believe it is superior.
i'll always love the heavy side of silverchair!!
I love the sound of these demos, I genuinely think I enjoy them more than the actual sound of the album
When the demos of this and Hollywood leaked everyone thought they were gonna release a cool, heavy sounding record. How disappointed we were.
@@danielkeogh1488 you couldn't be more wrong, many people consider Diorama as their best album, never being topped

@@massiveonigiri Diorama is hands down their best work, a great balance of grunge and delicate strings
@@dergratthe heaviness and the musicals sound fused fuckin genius

he turned into a justin timberlake boring version...we miss this old Daniel

Its better than the album version, except that it's missing that badass crescendo after the solo.
One of my faves. Great grit! Missing them in ‘22
“But a patient career of sleep in a sunday dress rides my awake”
Such a powerful lyric.
The demo version is so much better than album version, freakin’ masterpiece!
One Of The Biggest Underrated Bands Ever - Which Is Gre8! Keep Kicking Ass Guys!- M2.H.B. 2015!
and SOOOOOOOOOOO much energy in this song.
Cool! Great to hear how the song started off. Plus, Chris has a mega bass tone at the beginning!!
My word…..i listened to this with my headphones on REALLY loud and it took my fucking head off! You guys should do it - its totally awesome! HEAVY :D
He has the most amazing voice in the world; I love him. :D
they played this version in rock in rio 2001, here in Brazil
yes, the best concert of silverchair
I agree with you, for me the best shows of them was at Rock In Rio, and Live N Direct '97
"This song is dedicated to Ronaldo! He is our friend! We're friends with Ronaldo, your fucking soccer star! Yeah! Let's cheer for Ronaldo... yeah, right!" And then starts the song! It got me shivers to remember.... good old days!
@Andy Hose eu acho que se eles voltarem não vai ter a msm energia de antes
It’s almost the same version but different song construction :)
O último sopro de peso do Silverchair ! mas gosto das mudanças tambêm !
O último sopro do grunge e o que restava de bom nos anos 2000.
just amazing.
The most underrated band ever! I can fucking die for them! Greatings from Turkiye!!!
Better than the version on Diorama.
I've always played this song with the tuning BADGBe
Unique live performance!
What

much better, it seems more real, more alive. fucking rock !!
Fucking dirty. I love it!
His guitar is in A standard. The first chord is a B5 and he hits it at the 2nd fret (based on other videos I've seen).

this guitar doesn't sound like it's tuned on Drop-B like on Diorama, it sounds like it's tuned on B Standard.
THX with all the allfathers.
2:23 Maaan, that demo...
Are metal song from the Silverchair!!

@cyankuruma Its stoner/doom/ultimate sludge metal ;) Heavy as fuck!

i like the demo better than the final version ... mainly because it's so rough..
F u c k ' n A W S O M E ! ! !

always preferred the RockInRio version to the album version....

i think this version is better than the akbum version
Channeling their Freakshow days
They need to continue with this style of rock, not like pop music, Silverchair must to be heavy until the end !
1 Last Thing - Push Over Metallica - Cause We May Want Metallica V.S. Silverchair!!!!!!!!! - M2.H.B. 2015!
