I could not agree more. There has been no need to be in the Middle East this long, and everyone that's run for office has talked about pulling troops out of the area, but it doesn't happen. US troops need to get out of that area. Period. Especially now that Iraq's government has elected to have US troops leave. They are their own nation with their own laws, and they have the right to have the US soldiers leave if that's what they choose.
It's such a balance. We need people there, but we need to be there only to prevent or react to seismic events. They don't want to pull out cause they know if they do it will be like the attitude that let hitler have free range. They have to limit growth but they can't stop it. Only slow it down.

The number of deaths have still not been released but is known to be in the triple figures. Iran goes on about international law but has absolutely no regard for it themselves. On a daily basis they threaten civilian ships in international waters which is a violation of international law and make up false charges against foreign citizens who are visiting their country. They have never taken responsibility for anything that has gone wrong in their country, instead blaming the US for their problems. The US offered to help Iran in combatting coronavirus despite themselves being overwhelmed by cases and deaths. Instead of taking the olive branch that the US was offering Iran blamed the US for spreading the virus in Iran. If Iran was less interested in increasing their dominance in the region and focused more on domestic issues they would be a more thriving country and their economy would be more stronger than it is now
