It never ceases to amaze me how many games there are! Easily tens of thousands with several thousand new ones produced each year ( counting the crowdfunding ones). Space, time, money, preferences are big factors in compiling a collection. I have close to 300 games. I try and play at least one game daily and learn a new game weekly. I have a ways to go to play through my entire collection, but it’s a fun goal. From this video, I would guess we have over 100 crossovers easy. Thanks for producing so many great videos. Hit the “like” button, folks! 👍

We'll never be able to play all the games no matter how hard we try! It really is amazing how many games come out each and every year.

Thanks for sharing your collection Shane! Would love to hear you talk more about Rescuing Robin Hood, Winder Woman and Scarabia.

I did a full review of Rescuing Robin Hood. I think all 3 are very solid games. Wonder Woman is probably my favorite out of those 3.

That’s the problem we all have. We want manageable collections and end up with monstrous collections!

Since I've put this out I tried to make a list of 300 I could manage partying ways with. Soo far, I'm at 50 games 🤦🤦🤣

i'd be interested to see the games in your car, since those are probably the ones that see the most table time!

I can't remember exactly what was in my car at the time I shot this but currently I have my big box of Unmatched, Quacks of Q, and Clank Legacy in there.

I have half the games you do and have roughly the same unplayed. Your number is impressive. Great video!

Watched and then rewatched to see if you had any Keymaster games. I spotted Campy Creatures! Did you like it?

I like it. Quirky little game. Probably been 2 years since I've played it. Think I'll have to break it out again soon.

I’d say I’m 75-100 in my collection. I feel I’m getting to the tipping point of having too many and not being able to fully enjoy what I have and do love. I think I’ll just stop buying at some point. Really don’t see myself culling ever.

I think that is a good range of games. I have really been thinking about cutting this collection in half. I know of at least 100 in here I wouldn't miss to terribly and another 100 that just aren't getting played much anymore.

@@TheBoardMeeting yeh. I have Verdant coming, think I’m going to buy Castles of Burgundy (not the deluxe version), Cubitos, Architects and a dope Crokinole board and then call it quits on acquisitions outside of gifts for a while lol

I think having a 600+ collection points to a psychological hoarding disorder that maybe you should get some professional help with. I like board games too but all that money and all that time vested into board games could have been used for much better purposes. learning a foreign language, learning to draw or paint, or make music. Useful skills. Not to mention all that money that could be used to travel, invest etc. I had a 160 and growing game collection when I realized I had a problem. I sold and got rid of most of them and now have a small 20 game collection that are my absolute favorite games. Having a small collection means I also can truely explore a game's depth and not just play it superficially a couple times a year. Most of my games are older games. Modern classics that have stood the test of time. Most have tournaments associated with them so I know I can go as deeply into mastery of these games as i want. Board game collecting can be SUPER addicting. I know. Its a HUGE dopamine hit when a new board game arrives and you open it and punch it out. Choose a handful of your forever games and call it a day. Get your collection down to 50 games that you want to be with you if you get marooned on a desert island and just thoroughly explore everthing those games have to offer. And if you REALLY feel you worn out a game, get rid of it, and then search for a replacement. Most board games don't do anything ground breakingly new anyway. Most are just the same rehashed mechanics with a new theme. OMG! Instead of set collection of cards with pictures of dragons on them, now I'm set collecting cards with pictures of Aliens on them! Oh. My. God! Its just silliness.

Hoarding disorder doesn’t look like this.
This is a collection. It’s organized, well-kept and prized. Besides, apparently he’s very much capable of parting with his stuff.
I have around 50 games (plus expansions for many of them). This collection would be excessive to me and far too much to keep track of. Nevertheless, it’s his collection, his money and his time.
Not everybody has an innate passion to learn how to paint or make music… or to learn a new language - and that’s fine. I do a lot of art-related stuff, but I also realize that excelling in that field requires a lot of patience, persistence, motivation and intention.

I have around 120 board games, and maybe 30 crossovers with your collection. There are some small games you have recommended that I have picked up. I solo play the high complexity games, but mostly play lighter games with others. My game group can be up to 6 people. It’s challenging to find good light weight games, I’m always on the hunt for those. BTW-where do you get your games?

There is a few online places I buy from. GameNerdz, boardgameco, miniature market, preferably I buy from local stores tho. I also get some games from publishers for reviews.

Thanks for sharing your collection. Can never say you can't find a game to play! lol. Regarding Terraforming Mars: Ares Expedition, I thought it was okay didn't really buy into the hype. Once you figure out the strategy not difficult to beat solo. Did not last long in the collection.

I think I'm going to give it to a friend that'll enjoy it more. It's a tough decision since I have the deluxe kickstarter edition with playmats.
