They weld real sweet. Even better than depicted here. I have had several including older 16 hp Onan prime movers. Lincoln Rangers as well. They all weld like butter on hot bread if your hand moves in a consistantly repeating "J" pattern. Also slightly & constantly pushing the rod into the joint as you move.
I got a miller 250 efi bobcat just in august. Love it and never would give it up for anything. It can put out over 5500 watts and still tig way past 235 amps. Its not supposed to. The manual says no more then 4000 watts and 180 weld. But i found it can do more. Way more.
The oil filter on small engines if you get them from the manufacture is in the range of $12.00 to $20.00, but if you find a FRAM filter supplier you usually get them at 1/2 off or more. I have Farm & Fleet they sell them in the lower price range. If there is a Fleet Farm store near to you, different company, I think they would have them as well. Some industrial suppliers will sell 6 or more filters at cheap prices as well. Check it out before spending more than you need to. When my father was in the farm irrigation we had a Miller like that, I just don't know the model number it was so long ago. It had the TIG, but they did not have the wire feed back then.
This is an old video man but I have the same welder and don’t know what the bar is over the top of the hour gauge? I thought maybe it was for the fuel but even at full, the crescent bar won’t budge. I just have no idea what it’s for
Nice looking weld!!! I'm debating between the 225 ($3800) and 250 EFI ($5200 W/ Tax) we live on acreage and will be doing fencing and some metal building welding... the big thing the guy told me was "DUTY TIME".... He said the 250 can work all day whereas the 225 I guess has to cool down after an hour of solid welding??? I don't know... How has it been? have you used it ALL DAY and had any issues?
Zolitar Iglussey I have around 20 hours on my welder. I haven't used it for more than a couple of hours at a time, 90% running my 12VS wire feeder. It sounds to me like your salesman is trying to upsell you on a more expensive machine. The current model bobcat 225 is rated at a 100% duty cycle at 150A (200A if in CV mode), while the 250 is 60% at 250A. So, both machines do have some kind of limit, although if youre running the 225 at 150A or less you can run it all day without a problem. I personally will never run into that limit as I use mine for handrail fabrication and field repairs; usually only a few minutes of arc time followed by a few minutes of time to fit the next joint. If I was doing pipeline welding, shipboard welding, or other high duty cycle work, then I would have chosen a different machine. Depending on how you use yours, the 225 might be enough machine.
Sounds like the 225 would be perfect and do you really need all the frills and thrills that the 250 Has? Did you even look at the 250? and the guy was very open with whatever I wanted... The younger kid was the one that said the 225 would do everything you need even power your house in an outage (Which was one aspect I was interested in) I want to build my old drilling pipe fence, ( 1000 Ft) add on to my metal building and thats it for the moment. (Was also thinking *IF I ever needed to make $$ with it in the future) other than that it will sit and collect spider webs..
Zolitar Iglussey yes, I looked at the 250EFI model. I didn't feel that the extra 25 amps of welding current and extra kw of generator power were worth the extra $1400. Yes, the 250 is better...but not $1400 better.
thats what I was wondering about "The difference in Welding Amperage Range...." 225 * 70-150AC 50-225DC 250 * 40-275DC W/ EFI as an example... when would you use the DC to weld? and on like my old drill pipe one day Fence? I need to buy a book on welding... This is City boy turned Country survivalist!
Only non ethanol for me also, just got past 100 hours on mine, I am very pleased with mine, the only thing I don't like about it is the full throttle upon startup, but I don't know how to stop it from doing that
Jorge Serna I considered the Lincoln as well, however during my research I found a youtube video that compared the two. They disassembled both machines and went into great detail; things like quality of internal wiring, lug material, mounting points, chassis material, etc. were all better in the miller. When I bought mine I managed to jump on a sale that made it about the same price as the Lincoln.
Thanks, I missed the 2016 sale on Lincoln which was around 720 off and during 2017 I missed the Miller sale which wad 500 off. Whoever has the next sale will have my money. That miller video was good.
I'm in the same boat. Even looking at the Hobart champion elite as well. No CV mode but has 50amp plug so u can connect any other machine to it. Decisions decisions
exiting, does it have tig or do you have an add on....I have a polish one inverter type 180 Amps dc only no tig gasoline. .have never used it. now I feel the urge..thanks..goedendag
I don't have a TIG setup for the Bobcat; if I need to do any TIG welding I use my Dynasty 350 in my shop. I'm actually looking for a Dynasty 200 to use for portable TIG welding.
Can you mig and tig weld from this machine? I called miller and was told that it's best to just buy a dedicated mig or tig welder and power it from the bobcat
im 15 and buying my own welding unit i have been saving up for a long time for one of these can decide between the champion elete this sassy bobcat unit
Hello, good afternoon. I am texting all the way from Guyana and the Caribbean. I am very well interested of a welding plan portable. Anyway, you could help me?
Idk the old ones but the holbert ones have a manual choke and the miller ones have the automatic choke other then that they are basically the same thing
There are several diesel models, but they come at a huge price increase. Might be worth it for somebody who welds in the field every day, but I don't expect to put more than 100 hours/year on this machine and I couldn't justify the $5000 extra cost for diesel.

It’s a nice machine but it’s a nice machine but to have an exhaust pipe plastic that’s embarrassing for a company they should have had different material
I've had the same welder for a couple of years many hours on it and I love the machine. Great video

Sweet good luck with it I would like to get one but I only weld as a hobby. I have a miller multimatic 215

Cool so I guess I need to spend $5265.23 and get the 250 EFI
What kind of welding have you done with your bobcat? Structural? Pipe? Etc
@@brandonhernandez9260 home projects.
I have one of these are these good for your typical backyard weld job
That is a money making machine That is one of the best machines out there I can’t wait to own one
Great unit , Good choice man ! Thumbs up ..
I can’t stop drooling.
Apparently I am here again🤤
"Battery is not currently hooked up," Funny, I get that.

Stay away from them they are junk filters
@@joelbuyno5500 What do you recommend?
I get pee my pants giddy with a old lincoln weld and power , I cannot imagine a brand new bobcat
I just got a new ranger 250 gxt about a month ago
How thick u ran this on so far
sweet machine

Good welding machine perfect, what about the price
NICE WORK SIR THANK YOU
Hows the last two years been with the 225, looking to buy one
Zero complaints/problems/issues. I have around 500 hours on it now, mostly running a suitcase welder. Maybe 10 hours as backup power for my shop.
@@MattVerley how thick can u weld with a suitcase at 28v (bobcat 225) 12 vs suitcase please let me know thanks
I saw a diesel welder/plasma cutter online military surplus, would that work as a generator as well ?
good video. what about the machine price?
4000

How do you change a starter on the Miller bobcat 225
Wow boy. You. Get. A. New. Baby. 😂
Does that welder have an auto throttle advance?
How much is the price

Just got a miller bobcat 250 for 100 bucks the problem is that it don't charge battery going to work on it tomorrow
nice welder.
How do you run MiG or tig
where is the F1 fuse located
I cant decide between a Bobcat 225 or a Lincoln 225. The lincoln is 200 dollars cheaper and both have what I need.

How much this machen?
I have a bobcat 225 Miller maybe n 01 maybe some one can help n tell me where the F1 fuse is located
What oil do you use? Just got mine today. Thanks
What we use where I work is either 10w30 or just SAE30 we use the O'Reilly's brand oil and still works fine.
I want this
How I get it

Good.. Sagessions. You. To. Us. Thanks. My. Friend. How. Much. Price. Of. This. Digel. Machin.?
Mine comes in tomorrow :>
Did it come with a remote ?
Me gustaria la traduccion en español.
I definitely want one but I'm gonna get the Hobart model of the same size (they're made my Miller anyway).
Cody Stringer if you plan on doing a lot of welding. I suggest just spending the $ and getting the Miller..
welditup but Miller makes Hobart... what's the difference?.
I think the Hobart champion is cheaper because you can only stick weld with it. No other processes like MIG/TIG
Hobart is NOT made by Miller. They are both owned by Illinois Tools Works.
Idk the old ones but the holbert ones have a manual choke and the miller ones have the automatic choke other then that they are basically the same thing
