The 5th member of Nova Esquadron did apear on this episode, walking on Starfleet Academy with the other 4, then saying good bye and running in the opposite direction.
I don’t believe Tendi has given up her career. I think she was reassigned as diplomatic liaison to Orion. She was the Lieutenant the admiral wanted to speak with freeman about, not Boimler. That’s why Tendi has her com badge still. Also, she and Tendi 2 agreed Tendi’ll come back. No discussion was made over how long and what she’d be doing.
The explosion effect of the Genesis device may have had a bit of Nova Squadron's symbol in it, but it also was very similar to that of the Genesis device's explosion in the Wrath of Khan, from the fact that it instantly wiped out the storm/nebula to the expanding circles of blue clouds that appear as the good guys speed away.
I still say that Lakarno was an assumed name for Tom Paris. All the details for both characters are identical and they purposely based Paris on the TNG episode (but presumably didn't want to pay the royalties to the writer of that episode). Anyway, he either made a fake name either because he was forbidden from entering Starfleet by his dad or because he wanted to make it on his own steam.
There’s a Kzinti crew member on screen for a few seconds. Don’t remember if he appears before (incidentally) on Lower Decks. Kzinti first appeared in an episode of TAS adapted from a short story by Larry Niven for his Known Space universe of sci-fi books. Kzinti are in that short story.
Yes, that crew member HAS been seen before, specifically as part of the “Red Shirts” group who recruit Boimler in Season 2, after he returns from the Titan.
They need to make a live action of this show.. i mean this the best star trek content out there. So good
LOWER DECKS! Great list of Easter Eggs, Eric.
The Titan A.E. ice field. They even recreated several scenes.
OMG! Glad someone else noticed. That entire sequence played out exactly as it happened in Titan AE. Cheers!
Maybe not, but it sure looked like Boothby was at Star Fleet Academy doing some gardening in the wide shot.

Fabulous season of Easter egg recaps thank you!. 🎉 I'm going to miss these as much as I'll miss new episodes of trek 😢
6:34 - Note that Capt. Freeman is not on the Orion ship. She is on the captain's yacht, along with Ransom and Shaxs.

Agreed!
You could’ve mentioned the genesis device in Picard season 3 Daystrom station.

First time since voyager we’ve seen a ship that gives off Babylon 5 station vibes. Do the writers etc of Star Trek have Babylon 5 envy???
@@parallax3d Yes thank you. As a big Babylon 5 fan I am quite aware of that. That doesn’t mean that there’s no reason to make the comment.
