Watching Klingon farmers apply their craft was a nice new change of pace for once then to see those in "noble" Houses decry about honor. And to see how they make the blood for the wine was a nice touch, UP!

Awesome Lower Decks episode. The scene when they had to walk down aisle while getting hit by pain sticks had me roaring laughing on the floor! Brilliant!
Excellent video, as always. I think the writers of the episode were going for a much simpler reference when naming the food critics. My guess is Legnog was meant to reference Foghorn Leghorn and Gonald was simply a play on Donald the Duck.
Starfleet General Order One, commonly known as the Prime Directive, is one of the most fundamental principles in the Star Trek universe. It prohibits (only) Starfleet personnel from interfering with the natural development of alien civilizations, particularly those that are pre-warp (i.e., they have not yet developed faster-than-light travel). Non Starfleet personnel are not subject to the Prime Directive. The core of the Prime Directive is to avoid any action that would alter the course of a society's evolution, as this could have unintended consequences, including the introduction of advanced technology, diseases, or ideologies that could destabilize or harm the society. The directive is often a source of moral and ethical dilemmas for Starfleet officers, especially when they encounter situations where intervention seems necessary to prevent harm or suffering, such as when a civilization is under threat from natural disasters or hostile forces. Despite its rigid nature, the Prime Directive is considered a guiding principle to maintain the integrity of civilizations' autonomy and to avoid imposing Starfleet's values on other species. This directive is often referenced in episodes of Star Trek, where the crew must grapple with the decision of whether to follow it or break it for a greater good. Picard is said in the episode "Drumhead" to have broken the Prime Directive 9 times, and not faced consequences. Boimler and Mariner do not alter Klingon culture, in fact thanks to Boimler's knowledge of the Klingon rules means that their actions are inline with Klingon culture. As they are not altering Klingon society in any way, and rather acting within Klingon rules, they are not violating the Prime Directive.
I agree with your down about the Migleemo storyline. I would have been happier to see Legnog and Gonald reveal their faulty tastebuds earlier in the episode and have the B store be that they lost their taste because they’re each hiding a secret love for whatever the Klowahka’s version of instant ramen or 99¢ frozen Slug Pot Pies is or something.

I could be wrong but there's a scene where you see a Klingon metal band playing - it reminded me of the Voyager episode where the doctor has a holographic family. His holo-son listened to Klingon metal with his friends and I always wondered what it sounded like. Now I know! I thought that was pretty awesome

I seriously doubt it would happen but with Boimler getting a bit hardcore with fighting and such, I would love for the show to bring back the black alien monster that "hunted" him on the Cerritos in the first season. Could you imagine him coming back and asking Boimler if he would mind doing the hunting ceremony again and Boimler says, "Sure! Let's do this!" and the alien is surprised to find Boimler has turned into a fighter since last time? I could see a strong-friendship growing between the two of them for that reason. (edit) Regarding A Farewell To Arms: spoilers, the book is not all that good.
Someone has probably mentioned it already, but Sam Witwer played a Xindi Arboreal in Enterprise and voiced Tenavik in STO (at Kenneth Mitchell's request).
Sean, this episode made me incredibly happy. Your Ups & Downs really embellished it. Very grateful. Kudos to the creators, animators and actors. Happy birthday Mary Cheiffo!

Sean absolutely spot on with the different take on the LD theme it was a wonderful take on it. Additionally the Klingon bikers hoverbikes reminded me a heck of a lot of the space chopper DC comics character Lobo uses to get around.
Thanks TrekCulture, Seán and Ups and Downs for something fun on a dark week for humanity. I'm not a Klingon fan so I actually preferred the UaD to the episode itself. "Experience Bij" did get a good laugh out of me though.

By klingon laws, duel to the death is basically the equivalent of sueing someone. You gotta respect local culture if you are starfleet
