  • It’s time to make a few changes to our new plot, starting with some dead trees and rotten raised beds.

Just found your video! I love what you’ve done and will continue to watch your garden grow! My daughter and son in love have a huge garden every year! We can a lot unless the deer, squirrels, and rabbits beat us to the produce!

Hi! I’m glad you found us, thank you so much! I’ve had some squirrels digging up my allium bulbs this week, little monsters! 😂 I hope your daughter and son in law have a great growing year! Hope to see you here again ❤️

Great idea, I have loads of poppy seeds that I saved from the plot last year and I love calendula. I have a pink jasmine at home so I think I’ll be planting that one! ☺️

Happy belated Lindsey 🎉. Almost 500 subs come on 💪💪 team. We find that the ivy is what kills a lot of trees, the tree guys that cut down our huge cedars told us that as well. Ivy is also not good for brick work 😢. 8:26 😂😂 so just a little job then 🤦🏼‍♀️. I’m like yiu I can’t work with a big coat on so I have vests (outdoor jackets without sleeves). 😂 lesser spotted Lindsey. Silent Mark is he related to Gemma’s Silent Vince 🤣🤣. Absolutely fantastic video everyone including dad. Have a super week, Ali ☔️☔️🇨🇦

Thank you Ali! I know, I can’t believe we are almost at 500, it’s crazy! He could well be 😂😂. He’s not as quiet as he seems, I just don’t let him get a word in😂😂. Take care lovely!

For a climber, maybe Clematis. For the damp area by the poly runoff, possibly Gooseneck Loostrife, Astilbe, Lobelia Cardinalis or my fav Lythrum and then a tall guy could possibly be Filipendula. Not knowing your zone, these are just damp likers. Can't wait to see and glad this popped up because your alls place is beautiful!

Thanks Fran, great suggestions. We don’t typically use the zone system as most of the UK is similar in climate, although there are variations. The equivalent is about zone 8a/8b. I have a few lobelia in the greenhouse actually which could be planted anytime! 😊

Shame the rhubarb died, they love water. Id plant some comfrey plants as theyll stop the grass growing into the plot and its free fertilizer. You could grow wild flowers in-between the comfrey.👌🙏

Yes, it is a shame. I’ll replace it though so we will have some next year. Comfrey is a good idea for that border, I wanted some anyway to make fertiliser as you say. Great idea! Thank you for watching Nick. 🙏 😊

🎉 Happy belated Birthday!🎉 Wow! You two have been working really hard! How about some Jasmine for the shed?🤔 I got one delivered last week and it’s so tiny at the moment but I’m hoping I can keep it alive long enough to see it bloom coz they smell amazing 😅

Thank you! Yes I think jasmine will be good. I have a jasminium stephanese at home that I bought before we decided to change our garden layout. I hope yours does really well! 😊

What is the building behind your greenhouse? It looks like theres an opening like a window. Id definitely want to go inside and explore. Some of my garlic is just coming up and i planted it on Oct 12th😮.👍🙏👌

Hi Nick! It’s an old council potting shed. Before these allotments were created the land was used for growing flowers for the local cemetery. Where the remaining lime wash is was a massive greenhouse and my dilapidated (we’ll be fixing them up) brick raised beds were beds and cold frames. It’s open from the other side. The old window is blocked up because kids used to get into the council building and light fires so my dad who had the plot back then, bricked it up. I was pleasantly surprised to see my garlic as it’s been so wet I thought it might have rotted! Glad yours is starting to show 🙏 😊
