    Fun fact: Caffeine can actually be transferred to a child via the mother's milk. It's mostly in trace amounts, but it can be enough that some babies get fussy and such after feeding. There being caffeine in Jasmine's system shouldn't be such a strange thing, unless either the mother hadn't had any caffeine, or it was in large amounts.

      @@yeahokaycoolcool wow ...that reminded me of my friend when she would breastfeed her daughter and having some reaction. She told the doctor she only has one cup of tea early in the morning... So she cut down on caffeine altogether from any source and still the daughter would have some reaction . After digging more into her daily eating habit, it was strawberries !! Even if she only had one strawberry chopped over her yogurt, that's still cause her daughter to have a reaction. Not sure what caused that but my friend told me during her pregnancy she focused a lot on only eating salads to avoid gaining too much weight during her first pregnancy. And while she was breastfeeding she had to change everything about her diet because her daughter was having weird reactions to the breast milk. So during her to other pregnancies, my friend as whatever she can within limits, and both her kids had no problems or any reaction to any food.

    I remember when I lost my son I couldn't cry about the situation even though I was completely destitute. I think like 6 months after the fact was when I broke down one day for no discernible reason. Everyone processes trauma a little differently and sometimes it just takes a while for things to kick in. It seems common within my support network that most people can eventually talk about traumatic events fairly openly after about a year without completely breaking down though we don't really try to bring it out.

    The detective work you guys went through is spot on. She either knowingly or unknowingly smothered the baby while she slept. Woke up and, again, knowingly or unknowingly, put the deceased baby in the bassinet. Then was awoken by the guy that came in and said something is wrong.
    Whether she was messed up and doesnt remember putting the baby in the bassinet or did it intentionally to put blame on someone else, we will never know. But she knew she had done it in either case.

    • @Rittendaux
      @Rittendaux 3 місяці тому +5

      My uneducated opinion:
      It's strange that the baby was in the bassinet when the dad found her, the mom even says she wasn't sure if the baby was on the bed or in the bassinet. However, if she truly didn't know and if she truly thought someone else did hurt her child then she wouldn't be able to lie about it when asked. She looked extremely nervous when the topic of her smothering her came up... It's very common for young mothers to do unspeakable things to their children when they experience postpartum psychosis. Another thing I noticed was her accusations about slenderman drugging her, I believe she had what she thought to be a lethal dose of drugs in her system. I think she took drugs that day in the hopes of killing herself and she purposely suffocated her daughter and THEN put her back into the bassinet after she had stopped breathing, she then passed out on the bed. The motive would be irrelevant because she was simply not in her right mind, with that said I believe she was trying to hurt her husband at the time by taking away what he loved the most for cheating on her with Josh, this would explain as to why she then chooses to blame josh for what happened.

I'm an obvious foreigner in my country, so I didn't say anything as I would have gotten run off the bus and nobody would have changed behavior anyway. If I would have known who she was, I would have made an anonymous call to the child abuse hotline, but it was just some person on a bus I never saw again. There's articles about how it may possibly be done safely but she was adamant about it. Apparently this happens a lot more than it should even when parents are being as safe as can they can be. I dozed off for like 5 minutes once with them lying on my chest and I freaked about it. I mean, people can do what they want and I won't tell people how to raise their children, but this is an absolute nightmare scenario for me.

I had no problem with them being together... they just had to tell me if they were seeing each other without me. This was spoken about between the three of us, neither of us had kids and none of us did any kind of drugs. There was no jealousy or issues. The three of us would be together sometimes. I know this is tmi, but sometimes these things do work well if there is clear communication. The only reason I broke up with the guy was because he was moving to another state, all three of us are still good friends. This situation is so much different. There is Jealousy, possibly drugs, a child and a marriage is involved. THESE people are in a horrible relationship with each other. When they said the baby died under "mysterious circumstances" I immediately thought it was SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome). Never would've thought that the mom smothered the baby by accident, and then put the baby _back in the bassinet._ But I know those things happen. It's honestly heartbreaking no matter the situation. But the fact she blamed another person for HER mistake, is what boils my blood!
    But please, never sleep next to your baby in bed! That's how these accidents happen.

    As for bassinettes go, there is also the playpen/bassinette-type combo where you can open the side of the bassinette and the baby sleeps next to you in the bassinette, not the bed. So, I can see how it might be plausible that someone could roll over on the baby in a setup like that.

      I co-slept with my mama and brother when I was like 7-15 because we were poor and it was freezing cold inside. I will say, everyone was old enough to not be smothered by someone rolling on them. The risk to infants and very young children is too dangerous.
