Many Black people have very unrealistic views on how to get out the hood. Notice how he asked them “where do you see yourself in 5 years?” They said music and basketball 🏀 for the kids. Black people gotta realize that rap music and sports is not the answer no more. You can also be successful by working a lucrative job. Everyone is not gonna make it as a rapper or ball player. Being police officers, IT tech, truck drivers, firemen or the medical field along with other realistic jobs can help you be successful also. We ain’t gonna get nowhere trying to be entertainers.

    • @AxelfoleyTheGreat

@wnypaisan27 100% Agreed. Many Black parents are DEAD BROKE and can't take care of themselves but keep having kids they can't take care of. Who in their right mind wants to live in this nonsense? You set your kids up or failure for sure.

We need to glorify black ownership and entrepreneurship along with hard work an no excuses. Take notes from everyone else doing good for themselves. Niggas aint no different. We all ppl and we all gotta go thru the hard work and sacrifice to get ahead. We need that to be whats cool in the community not being a fucken bum serving dope feinds living on ya mamas futon

@@AxelfoleyTheGreat absolutely bro. My dad is black and my moms is white. He did the stereotypical shit and left when i was a kid. Now that im doing good for myself with kids and a wife he avoids me like the plaugue but gives love to his two fucked up kids he got with another wife. He avoids success like the plague. And my black side of the family thinks im selling drugs when really im just working hard. They just cant seem to grasp the concept of hard work like the rest of us its a shame. And the few folk on my black side who do work and nowhere to be seen cause its the same situation. You a uncle tom ass nigga for trying hard and making friends outside the hood

I was born and raised in the hoods of Chicago. What I did was unplug myself from all the gang and pushers. Started hanging out with an upscale crowd and changed my whole appearance. I always argue with idiots that get offended about other people telling these kids to pick up their pants. They say that it's a style and a black fashion. Once you pick up them pants and change that whole appearance you'll see how quick society accepts you. I now own property and moving to Europe in 2 years to make sure my child doesn't deal with this crap I dealt with. I'm a living proof that change is good.

Because of the influence of the mainstream pop culture glorifying drugs, gangs, being a thug, pimps, sex, etc, and the welfare state. It’s another form of slavery. peace& Love That’s true as well. It’s unfortunate that these types of communities ask for hand outs from the same people that oppressed them. Instead of creating school food programs, day care programs, school programs, work programs, life skills programs. Instead of gang banging. What’s even sadder is the fact that the black households had less broken families before segregation.

A couple questions I would ask them: Why all the vacancies? Why are the buildings boarded up? What do you do on a typical day? Will a music career allow you to buy a home? How do you help the disadvantaged in your community? These are the types of open ended questions that elevate the value and quality of your videos. Driving around is good, but the human experience is 100x more valuable. Stay safe Brother.

Many years ago, I found myself locked up in prison for 51 months for something I didn't even do. It was one of the most enlightening experiences of my life. I was the minority in that situation and I gained much empathy for all my brothers faced with incarceration. I wrote a book entitled: I WENT TO PRISON AND SO SHOULD YOU!
The idea or concept is that if you found yourself labeled a convicted felon until the day you die, you might learn to open your heart and mind to the plights of other people. AND STOP BEING SO JUDGEMENTAL.

Yes, it will be hard to change, but anything worthwhile in this world is not easy to do, but it CAN be done, and the results are worth it. People need to get enough fire in their bellies to say "enough is enough." People have lived in these bad neighborhoods, and have bettered themselves and gotten out. It's not easy, but is worth it. You certainly can’t judge a book by a cover. I thought “Oh, another wanna be rapper” but went and checked it out and it’s actually really good. One has an OutKast sound.

People live in Englewood that go to work and own their homes. Some of the homes are nice and well maintained.
The biggest downside to owning a home in Englewood is that you do not bet much equity from it. Real estate values are stagnant and in fact the population of Englewood is shrinking.
Crain's Chicago Business did an article about homeowners in Englewood. There are some nice blocks there, but sadly a lot of Englewood is deteriorating. Sadly, I don't see Englewood improving any time soon.
