I don’t get why you escaped my radar. I grew up in Riverview, ‘64-78, yet only heard of you in pandemic times. To miss such talent for so long is just a damn shame.

Mike, this was perfect for me to listen to today. I will remember the guitar is not magic, f*ck the brushes, and the Romeo line. Perfect. Thanks for the story.

Some people have met Presidents and some have maybe met the Queen in England but you sir have written a song with one of the two greatest song writers of the last century and with the best friend of the other one.

I saw that songwriters’ show with Guy, Lyle, John and Joe, at Massey Hall...it was such an incredible and unforgettable experience.

I was lucky enough to see Guy Clark twice and the lasting memory I have was that after at least 3 of his songs the crowd were totally silent as if spellbound and after a long pause they eventually began to clap almost in a respectful way which of course was what he deserved. What a treasured experience.

Damn Mike, that’s a very soulful story! I’m a Guy Clark fan and a life long front porch picker. I’m also now a Mike Plume fan. Take care

I like the three lessons - we can buy more brushes, a guitar is not magic, and we know its her Romeo. Words of wisdom from your Obi-Won Kinobe, Guy Clark. Another great story Mike - please keep them coming, cuz now we need 'em more than ever! As for the song - I am sure Guy Clark was happy with it, as it's a great song. You've got a pretty good job going there lad :-)

I have never been in the presence of a really great artist, I am sure there is something you can feel if you are open enough to feel at all. I think the song you two wrote is really great it may not have been something I would have understood when I was younger but it really feels good to me in my 70s.

Thanks so much for this story Mike! Huge fan of your music, as well as Guy Clark's. Sadly, I only discovered him after he had passed away. This was a fascinating peek behind the curtain of not only your experience, but a glimpse into his life as well. I got goosebumps when you talked about seeing the Randall knife in person. Man.

Just tuned into these, Mike. Enjoying the stories immensely. Having recently finished Tamara Saviano’s biography of Guy Clark, I feel I’ve just heard a story coming from over the fields of youth, seeking what is known for truth. A guitar is not magic I agree. The connections are in the songs for me. Songs of life, songs of hope. Songs to keep your dreams afloat.

Wow, that's a great song Mike. My first time hearing it. Tomorrow is garbage day so I decided to come out to the garage and get rid of as much as I can. I turned on Slacker Radio as usual. Halfway through the first song I thought, "Hey, I have to hear more of Mike's stories!" So for the last half hour while I cleaned up I listened to episode 2. Thanks Mike. Tomorrow I'll listen to episode 3 out here.
