A new video. Cheers for always being around when JOG ON publishes 🧡 If it's of value to you, here is the Half Marathon training plan: www.thisisjogon.com/trainingplans
Just done my first park run. Done the couch to 5k in august after no previous running and found this channel 2 weeks ago and inspired me to do my first park run this morning! Cheers Harry !!
It’s a great race, made so because of the huge support. That last hill though - I walked it in 2022, ran it in 2023. Took 20 mins off my previous run. And spotted you after the finish! Great time fella, well done.
Doing the Lisbon Half as our first foray into the Super Half series! Also, thanks are due: first came across Phily Bowden on your channel (parkrun vid) and she's now my coach so: thank you!
Weeks of work, thought and trying to answer the question 'what would I want to watch'. Thank you for choosing to watch a JOG ON video when it finally gets published.
Brilliant video, Harry! As a Les Croupiers Running Club member from Cardiff - welcome to our city! We run in the red and green vests that are scattered throughout your amazing vid! :) Feel free to come on a run with us if you're ever in Cardiff again.
This was my first race HM in my home town, and the heat absolutely kicked my arse. Comfortable ish at 10 miles then the long hill happened, forces me to walk the next mile. Great effort Harry
It was great race. I love Cardiff half. I was aiming for a PB myself that day but paced it all wrong, luckily had another attempt 2 weeks later at Bath and smashed it.
Brilliant video as always. I am less than 6 weeks out from my next half (Chattanooga Tennessee) and I am going for a PB there! This has energized me to keep pushing for it!
Fantastic - hoping that your training goes well in the build up. It’s a wonderful distance if you’re geared up for it with a good block of running. Thank you for being a member too it’s much appreciated as we build JOG ON. All the best 🧡
Great vid, one of my favourite races. Living in Cardiff I've been to that hill many times and it seems fine outside the race, but it's always a killer when running the half! Didn't do great in 2023 race, the heat/humidity just got to me! Jog on for next year now...
You are really quite inspiring, Harry.... well done!! My wife and I have our first 1/2 marathon scheduled for October, and we're setting a goal of 2 hours and 15 minutes. Your time is so impressive!!!
Have a great time training for it John - there is something about these bigger distances that become really quite fulfilling and as seen here the atmosphere just gets better
Another smashing video Harry. I’m all signed up to Cardiff Half this year, in the land of my fathers…this has really reignited my enthusiasm for it. Think I might give that plan a go - Aldous is (quite roughly) doing the 5k improver plan and we think it’s fabulous. Going for my second sub 2 attempt in a few weeks, so who knows what I’ll be aiming for by then. Congrats on the sub 90, that is unimaginably fast. Olivia
Fantastic Olivia. It’s a wonderful event. As demonstrated in the video, like so many big races, within minutes you can go through drums and cheering crowds to silence bar the sound of trainers on tarmac Enjoy the experience and the journey to get there H
These videos are inspiring me to get back into running seriously, hit a 17.53 5k and a sub 40 minute 10k in October but haven't trained since Keep up the good work!
Those are brilliant times, mate. I got a 37:55 10k in my twenties and have only just got back into running in my thirties. Trying to get the sub 20 5k currently and am close.
Cheers mate,I turned 40 in November, aiming for a sub 39 minute 10k and sub 18 5k this year Good luck with sub 20,it's elusive at first but once you hit it once you'll have the confidence to hit it regularly
As always such an amazing time watching your videos. You motivate us all to do better. I’m planning for my first half this year … if I can do it in three hours I’ll be happy.
A fantastic video and result. Thank you once again for the effort you put into your videos. I'll definitely be using the jog on half marathon plan for my next effort at the end of the year. It's by far my favourite distance to run 🧡
Just saw a couple of video's of you. Inspiring and think everyone who run ( and it doesnt matter if you run a hm in 2 hours 1.45 sub 1.30 etc) and watch your videos recognise one way or another certain aspects in it. But what i wanted to say. Saw your 5 k time sub 18 and 10 k sub 38 so you should in theory really run under sub 1.24. ( I never run under 38 in a 10k or 18 min in a 5k but hm pb is 1.24. 29. ) Good Lucky with your running Journey and movies.
Great video & result! Happy for you Harry! I was wrong when suggesting to you to do running shoes review, your videos are much more interesting and motivating to watch with original ideas!👍😍
Man, this one did not disappoint. The editing for the opening sequence was absolutely 💯 Congrats on the sub-90! Gonna give it a shot myself in March (would be a 19 minute PR), but would be happy to end up in the 1:35 range.
Great comment, it's appreciated when the editing gets a mention because it takes me days to just put a short section together Wishing you will with the attempt in March, if it's Bath Half I'll see you there H
Was wondering when this one would come out, remember seeing you at the 3k mark, and hoping I'd catch myself on film 😂 I did, 9:19, purple vests, result
Once again an amazing video. You’re such an inspiration and your love of running shines through in these videos. I ran my first 10K in December with a goal of breaking the one hour mark, and did it in 59:28. Got my next 10K in March and hope to beat 55 minutes. Hope to run my first half marathon later this year. Your videos get me excited for meeting those challenges head on!
Fantastic comment. Wishing you every success as you push towards sub-55. The half marathon somehow just kicks the atmosphere and drama up a notch so go enjoy it.
Well done, Harry! Great time and another inspiring video! This past weekend I ran my first half marathon race in about 13 years and I finished in 01:38:27. Almost 3 minutes slower than my PB, but still proud to finish that close to my 28 year old self. Hoping to beat that guy in some upcoming races this year ;).
The only downside is it always looks like I’m not working as hard as I am. What you don’t see here is about 1 hour and 17 minutes of pushing/not filming
Great to see more members of the community in the video and another superb video and achievement by you, Harry. consistency is key and you have proven that with your times in 2023, lets see what 2024 bring us all.
Harry, from the US, I hear so much about “rainy” Great Britain. Yet from watching your races it either looks no different from my NYC area, or you’re a very lucky event date picker. Which is it..?
Superb question. I get very lucky. It's become a bit of an inside joke that I somehow seem to select dates with great weather. However, we did recently host a meet-up and all the luck left: it was miserably wet. Hello to the US.
Not sure I could tackle a half marathon but feel inspired by this, I’ve just progressed from 5 to 10k at age 63 and feel ok so maybe I should give it a go one day!
I think you could do it so long as you take it slow and build up over months. I started 5ks and am now itching to get going on some 10ks but am letting my body catch up first. Kind regards, mate.
It all depends what you want to do. A half will be possible if you approach it correctly and have the desire to run that far. Wishing you all the best with 2024
The composed look you showed on camera despite struggling reminds me when I used to do the same when seeing an attractive runner head towards me in the opposite direction 🙄…..anyway, another excellent vid, and that PB is just waiting to be taken 👍
I'm 61, so my goals & PBs are considerably different to yours, but quite simple: (a) my 10k finish time must beat my age (2023 PB 49:57) and (b) my 13.1 finish time must beat my age x2 (2023 PB 1:58:03). Otherwise, I just keep to myself and Jog On. Thanks for the entertaining videos!
Love your content man! As a guy who’s lost 120 lbs since starting his running journey 5 years ago I find your videos inspiring. And I love your humility and sense of humor as you go for your goals. I have to say, as a guy with 17:40 PR for the 5K.. I’d think you’d be well below 90 mins for the half. My 5K PR for a road course is in the low 17s and my PR for the half is 80:22, run in late 2022. Then, last year I ran a 17:28 in August, and wound up running 82 mins in October on a course with 1,300 ft elevation gain … which I think more or less translates into the same type of result as 2022. With 17:40, I’d initially estimate you’d be anywhere from 80-83 mins. Don’t sell yourself short! Considering I keep getting low 17s in the 5K, I’m shooting for a sub 1:20 in two months on a downhill course. All my best to you!
@@thisisjogon thank you Harry! Lmk how your next half goes. I think you easily have a sub 1:25 if you want it. I ran 1:19:31 three weeks ago. In the lead up I did a 16:52 5K on the track. Like I said being in the high 17s you should be in the 1:20-1:25 range.
@@thisisjogon absolutely agree I've ran a 17:33 5k and a 36:36 10k in them they are by far the best shoe I've ever raced in. I'm currently training for Manchester marathon so will give them a try over the longer distance 👌🏃
Great video presentation and content. It's put me off aiming for 1:29 thou on a half. I just don't have the time to commit. I know I can't sustain that pace past 10km. Just being realistic ill aim for 1:35 -40. Nice one Harry
hi there , do you still read these comments , my name is michael , i was wondering if you could come to eaton park parkrun one saturday , to try to get me back sub 26 please , had a bad couple of years with personal issues and after watching your videos , felt i needed to message you , eaton park or norwich parkrun is a great run , 5k flat course one of the fastest in the uk , not sure where it stands , but we get 500 people most weeks , ranges from usually 17 min to 1 hour 5 min , thank you
A new video. Cheers for always being around when JOG ON publishes 🧡

Nothing beats Harry’s ability to present a story. Smashing time. Well done.

Well done Harry! I'm doing the Yeovil Half in March which I believe also has a sequence of hills in the 2nd half - eek
They can really take it out of you but if you know, then you can pace it accordingly - all the best with Yeovil and thank you
i find it amazing how you can create such a narrative for each video. It's beyond any other channel i watch. Great stuff.
Weeks of work, thought and trying to answer the question 'what would I want to watch'.

Loved this vid. You looked like you were flying through those ks until that hill. Shame about Switzerland, but it's a fabulous looking country.
Aesthetically, Switzerland can be incredible.
