Great review as always Matt. I actually sold my Hot Toys Tumbler to get into the 1:18 HW line, this year I finally got this 89 Batmobile, 66, Forever, Tumbler and Arkham Knight. It sounds crazy to sell off a HT for a HW, but I think the HW is more impressive when you have several on display.
Hey dude, always nice to hear from you, and thank you for your feedback! I don’t blame you for selling up the Tumbler, as you say, it looks more impressive having several on display at the same scale, then one massive vehicle 👍 Have you got anymore videos lined up or planned? I enjoyed your T-800 weathering video.
@@MattandTheRetroRoom Hey thanks Matt! Yeah I do plan on several more painting vids if I have the spare time-- I plan to shoot the HT Delorean since I'm selling it soon and was thinking of getting some Jada 1/24 Batmobiles and doing weathering videos on them, since most of the Batmobiles aren't clean in real life. Do you plan to get more of the HW cars? Or maybe Jada?
Ooooo the Hot Toys would be sweeeeet! At the moment most of what I have planned are figures, but I might look into the other vehicles, I guess it depends on availability as well. I’ve got the notifications set to ON for your channel, so will watch as soon as it’s available.
@@MattandTheRetroRoom unfortunately not , the boxes were not very keepable ,unless you were imaculate with your boglin , I think my grandfather threw it away
Well, the Boglin behind me is kept in tip top condition, can’t say the same for the original though 😬 Shame that we lost our childhood things, but that’s how it goes I guess.
It’s almost vertical lol. Yeah 180 is so over priced for what it is. Still a nice thing though. Yes the Hush Joker! I’m looking forward to seeing the quality of this one!
@@MattandTheRetroRoom Well Mafex are generally better quality than NECA. I recently bought a NECA Superman figure and I'm afraid to open it. I might leave it in the box...
I bought two of these when they came out for sale at retail way back. I displayed one and kept one in the box. At some point they released this in a black box with a true 1989 Batman logo which looks really sharp. This 1:18 is one of my favorite 1989 Batmobiles.
It really is a lovely piece! I’d like to get others like it, if they’re available still! Hot Wheels did a good job on this. But I’ve got the massive Hot Toys 89 Batmobile on order, so can’t wait to see it!
Unfortunately it is not 18/01. the real Batmobile measures almost 7 meters long. In 1/18 scale it should measure approximately 36 centimeters in length. Unfortunately, there is no 1/18 scale Batmobile. The 1/18 Batman figure is 10.5 centimeters, he does not fit in this Batmobile.
I have the Jada as well. I will be featuring it soon in a video. The Hot Wheels is way over priced as you said, but I managed to pick this up at a more suitable price, well, compared to the cost it in the UK anyway. Thank you for your comment.
Yeah I found this out when I was building the Batcave diorama for it. I had to keep making adjustments so everything looked correct and in scale. But I agree, definitely the best one, until someone makes a better one!
@MattandTheRetroRoom that's so unfortunate... The scale of this Hot wheel version is actually around 1:21. Not sure what they were thinking but it's very noticeable next to other versions.
It was my fault. I should have checked before basing everything off the vehicle. I managed to get it done but at the beginning, the scale was way out 🤣 Never mind, lesson learnt. I also believe the next Batman 89 Batmobile from Hot Toys isn’t quite right scale wise. People are saying it’s 4 inches shorter than it should be.
Every time I get a new figure in the post, I just hear the retro room theme as I unbox!
lol
O also have this one , its so beautiful , i was actually yhinking of doing a review , seing as keaton is in the light at the moment
It’s certainly a beast! You should definitely do a review on it 👍

Still the sexiest Batmobile made
Can’t argue with that!
I also had that boglin as akid , loved him
Ah yes, the staple of the 80’s. My original has since long gone, so it was nice to see them get released again. Do you still have yours?

Nice review dude! I agree that £180 is way too steep though.
Looking forward to the Hush Joker!

The Spinmaster RC 89 Batmobile is way better. Lights. Smoke. It moves! You name it!

The Jada 89 Batmobile is just as good only slightly smaller and much much cheaper. Have it. Love it. Hotwheels is nice but way overpriced.

Is it black mat or brillant black?
Sorry for the late replay! Not sure what the difference between them is, so I’m going with mat black 👍
Unfortunately it's not a true 1:18, but it's still a great representation of the 89 car. The best one!
