So, since you guys seem a bit confused about the "tamborito dance" thing, here's how I understood it. Reacher doesn't mean the actual dance, it's a metaphor. For the smexy times. :D Hence him saying in the first episode "do you want to dance? Because last time someone stared me down like that, was a lady who wanted to dance the tamborito with me" (something like that). Ergo, the only reason why someone would stare that long and that intense as they did at Reacher, was if they were, in fact, interested in doing the - "tamborito". :)
Well, it is a small southern town, the possibility for that barber serving in Nam is high. I forget if Reacher served or not, I just remember him being military.
@@fancybusinesspigeon3879, a person “serves” in the military. So if you were in the military, you “served.” Not sure of your context. Did I miss something? Thank you in advance.
If I were to reproach anything to the adaptation is that is a shame we don’t get to hear Reacher’s inner thoughts. Is probably a choice by design to not draw attention to it but Reacher is a huge simp, every time he sees Roscoe there is a 5 min monologue about how pretty she is and how much he likes her, by the time they discover the threat written in her home he basically forgets about his brother and is all about protecting her. Those monologues make him much more human and are hilarious.
Yeah hearing his internal monologues was one of my favourite parts of the books. They also show you how clever he actually is. The way he puts things together is really interesting
Right? I was surprised at some of the changes they made. As with all adaptations there changes for simplicity (time) and even some for sensationalism. But some changes were downright puzzling to me. Still enjoyed this season! 🙂
So, finding a woman attractive, liking her and being protective (a male instinct btw) makes a man a "simp?" If that's what you think a simp is, then I don't think the word means what you think it means...
It's definitely what annoyed me the most about the first season (alongside them seemingly having no idea how the justice system works), it would be so easy for the writers to do even just a few hours of research on firearms before writing something that's completely inaccurate. It's still a great show and those nitpicks definitely wouldn't bother most viewers, but it takes me out of it a bit when the main character (who is basically just an American Sherlock, if he enlisted and was juiced to the gills) uses Call of Duty logic.
I'm always pleased when a reference is made about how Frankenstein is the doctor, not the monster. Because it reminds me of my greatest moment on twitter, years ago when I still used twitter. I made a random comment about how nobody ever seems to correctly label the character as "Frankensteins monster" and somehow, Mark Hamill saw it and gave me a like. So in a way, I lived a childhood dream of earning the approval of Luke Skywalker.
The little inaccuracies probably bother someone who knows about guns, but to someone who doesn't, it sounds like they know what they're talking about. They're certainly convincing enough. Curious if you've watched the punisher/daredevil and what you think of that. Cool fun fact about superglue. Guy on the left strikes me as a trivia guy.
Spicy Cajun Crawtators are amonst the most popular flavor of Zapp's sold nationwide. They are essentially flavoring used for crawfish boils except sprinkled on potato chips, ie tators. So the name Spicy Cajun Crawfish seasoning + Tator chips = Spicy Cajun Crawtators. I like their Dill chip better but Spicy is at every college game in LA, MS, AL region. The only unbelievable thing about that scene is there's no way that cop wouldnt have eaten those growing up in GA.
This season is based on the first book. The second season jumps to the 11th book, but the books themselves are often non-linear, so it doesn't matter as much as in some series. (Edit; There really isn't a bad book in the lot, although just the last couple have been a bit weak.)
I appreciate the gun knowledge from you guys. first thing i thought of in ep. 1 was that you would want heavier bullets for them to be subsonic. a 95 grain 9mm is nowhere near subsonic, you would need at least a 155 grain 9mm for it to be a sub.
It's kind of creepy that each of you spend so much time during the reviews of stroking your beards, mustaches, hair, ears, etc. while watching the videos LOL! :) Kind of weird...:)
If there was a piglet with glasses travelling with a rhinoceros without glasses not one person in the world would say "you will see two animals. Kill the one with glasses."
Lana looks awesome. Great to see her. Surprised Calvin didn’t recognize Admiral Souther from The Expanse (maybe it didn’t make the edit). This show is awesome. Reached and Roscoe have some great chemistry. Especially in the upcoming eps.
Okay, I'm 3 minutes in and see they DID, in fact, explain the "guy with the glasses" thing in the show, so disregard my comment in the last Reacher ep reaction about not thinking they explained it in the show. lol

I'm convinced the barber is former military, which is why Reacher takes a kin to him more than anyone else in the town aside from Roscoe
Honestly they say a military member can spot another member after awhile so I wouldn't doubt it

No just blues
As a blues head myself that's a deep connection with a neglected and disrespected genre of music. It's an instant bond with a fellow traveler.
'Hell, I'd 'a' kissed him by now!' that had me laughing so hard.
Also... yeah. Me too.
Poor guy: He took a knife to a Reacher fight.
That is indeed Lana Lang. Alan Ritchson was on Smallville too. Aquaman.
Roscoe has very good self control and so does Reacher lol

I've been thinking about starting to read the books. This just convinced me to. Internal monologues are hard to do well in a TV show.
But it's also great just seeing him like stoic and being able to see with his eyes what he's thinking

Reacher understands that nobody expects you to head butt them, so he uses it to his advantage. Also, Head butting a punch is a decision lol
Reacher in the books said he just likes to headbutt and use his elbows, coz hands are way easier to break.
Have to say, I'm liking Brolic Sherlock Holmes more than I thought I would.
There were so many great one-liners from Reacher in this episode. His humour makes it so much fun!
