I use a 6.5”.14” Stage Custom Steel Snare Drum. I might get another Yamaha snare drum to add to my collection. It sounds very good. I also use Yamaha drum hardware. I hope to add some more Yamaha drum hardware to my drum set.
This was so good, all the pitches were very close, & it made me realize I prefer maple for wood and brass for metal If I were to choose one, I’d get the Hybrid Maple
The depth of the shell and the stiffness of the rims are by far the most important variables. You could argue which of those two is more significant but the rest is trivial in comparison imo. Cast rims are typically stiffer than triple flanged hoops (TFH) but even TFH are available in 3mm thickness at reasonable prices. Try that before you cork sniff with bubinga.
Go to this chanel, click videos tab, then you can see every single snare drum on this video. So click what you want hear it, then you see every snare tested with diferent tuning.
To be honest: If prices were according to sound quality, there would hardly be a difference among them The more I listen this video with headphones, the more I reaffirm it
That first birch drum really spoke to me.
Same! rbs1455
@fartpooboxohyeah8611 🤣
It's from recording custom.

I’ve just bought the brass 14x6.5 tour custom. A great drum, probably the best in my snare collection
Nice! Congratulations on your purchase!
Loved the brass.
Nice work, good help for choosing a new snare.
This just confirms to me that I like aluminum snare drums. The Stage Custom Birch 5.5 also sounded great!
I have got SSS1465 and SBS1455, they both Stage Custom, the best value for money on the market and they sound great
Thanks for the comments! Glad to hear you're loving them!
I have them too and just love them. Best snares ever produced for the money...I now hope for a bronze affordable version...please Yamaha!

The heads too make an even bigger difference than the above, stage customs fitted with cheaper heads than the others
I'm still happy with my one-owner 1990s first-generation Maple Custom Absolute ASD0104 (14x4) with the Vintage finish and Vintage wood hoops.
Nice video dude..they all sounds Yammy...😊
Super cool to watch this. Loved it.
I love my RRS1365 but I also wish for a RBS1365 becoming available - maybe one day.
I got alluminum 14x5,5. Definitive and the most versatile.
Great competition.
Greetings from Germany.
The oak really seems to have the most unique tone and the most character, to me.
I seem to just smile every time I hear someone playing that oak snare, man and the kit is a beast too
SSS1465 completely popped up among the pack, its tone was the most appealing for me.
STAGE CUSTOM WOOD SNARE WINS BEST VALUE LOW PRICE , GREAT QUALITY....
I like the 5.5 x14 brass.
I like all sound
Yamaha makes really great drums especially at lower price points than others.😮
I own all these snare drums 🥁
The RC Aluminum are the greatest creations ever. I woukd take one of those over the ludwigs any day.
The stage custom for the win.
$180.00 in Canadian pricing.
But wow!!! The RC (Birch)!! The best
The RC’s…. $700.00. ;(
Ahhhh crap, I wish the tension was set higher on these. Is there another video of the same , with medium tension?
Birch 5,5 ×14, stell 6,5x14
Flawless victory
Oak 100%
Excellent. Now do the same with low and high tuning.

Dude, that was low tuning. In my opinion. But I agree with you. I wish they were set for higher tension.

I can guarantee you that some of those snare dr😊ums, will get you fired away in the studio right away!
2nd one.
🤔What about the Steve Gadd Signature snare drum?
Check out one of the many reviews of the Steve Gadd snare here: ua-cam.com/users/results?search_query=YSS1455SG
There is difference but all sounded good

Funny how they conveniently place that Tour Maple between the Recording and Stage Birch….
0:09
0:37
its me or they have all the same sound?
😂
Yep. All tuned the same. This video is very misleading
Hummmm noooo
I think they sound different but they’re all tuned the same prolly why you think that
Damn
Deenggggg
Aluminum all the way..
Nothing but rimshots?!.....what shame :(
Sounds like shit. Haha, just kidding I'd love to have any and all of these.
Close your eyes and you cannot tell the difference between any of them.
