According to Ginger 's memoirs - she didn't particularly care for Mark Sandrich - she thought he was rude & condescending - he supposedly told her that she couldn't act, sing or dance. The studio bosses had to write a letter to Mark & ask him to stop bullying Ginger.

Very nice, and very comnprehensive. I have researched them a great deal, and I do disagree on one point you make here. In Ginger's biography, and in other quotes, Ginger was really troubled in her relationsip with Mark Sandrich. Included in this list is Mark telling her "why don't you take acting, singing and dancing lessons?", Ginger saying he treated her "like a little bubblehead", and, finally, going to Berman about it all, and Berman writing Sandrich a stern letter about his treatment of Ginger. Sorry to nitpick, I agree with everything else you stated 100%.

I kinda went down a rabbit hole with Fred and Ginger, not knowing what I was getting into when I started. 136 years combined career, 104 movies, vaudeville, broadway, radio, TV and of course movies. I love making documenataries, but am now putting out the supporting material. I am eager to finish those two and move on to other actors and actresses.
PS: I liked your visit to the home, I forget which actor, that was about to be torn down to make another of those tasteless houses. I guess many people do not care much about the classic actors. Their loss...
