My husband wants 'I asked for a pyramid, dammit' on his headstone..
Imagine if the headstone shapes like a pyramid
⚰️⚠️⏏️🔺🔼😀☺️😂🤣
I will not settle only for a pyramid. I demand a pyramid with traps and a curse.
Pure genius 🤣
My dad said he wants "I told I was sick" he told me this when I was like 10 and if he doesn't put otherwise in his will or whatever I will be putting that on his grave lol
If my family doesn't enscribe "Victoria: Dead and Loving It" on my tombstone I'm coming back to haunt them.
Hahaha! I love it Victoria
This Victoria approves.
Victoria Lopez if you die by suicide, you can give that phrase a whole new meaning
@@pisces2569 that probably shouldn't have been as funny as I thought it was🤭🤭🤭
Cherrie Bombe embrace the humor
I'm being cremated. I will rest in a ceramic box that says "Extra Crispy".
Haha OMG I love when people have humor about their death. Especially since it's going to happen to everybody right? So you might as well get a little laugh out of it
Hey, I wonder if I should be flameless cremated and my urn could say "Original Recipe"
OK, I'll show myself the door..
"well done"
John Batt hell yeah!
Cajun style
I want catnip planted on top of where I’m buried so all the cats come to hangout
hmmm good idea
Genius.
Love it
I want my grave to get salted so nothing grows there and my grave ends up being as dead as my body
@@Mysteri0usChannel mood
The best one I've seen is "go away, I'm asleep"
I saw one that said "We're dead, be as loud as you like."
Lmao 😂
I want mine to say "goth kids please pose here"
When I die I want to be buried in the middle of the dessert in full scuba diving gear. Just to screw with the archaeologists in a couple thousand years.
Genius!
Hah, bet they wont *sea* that coming

mmm yes i love being buried in dessert. I hope to lie in an apple crumble
I once saw a tombstone for an infant that read:
Though this grave may be small,
please tread with care,
for a world of hope was buried here.
Oh man :'(
Thats sad
the smallest coffins are the heaviest
Somewhere in the Carabbian is a tombstone that says "I told you I was sick."
That hits hard
I want 'avenge me' carved in small writing somewhere. Don't actually care what kills me, I just want to confuse people after I die
Ah, so you're gonna be a post-humous quest giver?
@@driftingdruid that's honestly a great idea.
😂😂👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The epitaph to your tail of sadness is "Avenge Me"? I've always loved "My Body Lies, But Still I Roam..."
Awesome
There's one I love near where several of my family members are buried that has hands holding a classic video game controller and it reads "Advanced to the next level"
"I ran out of 1ups"
Amazing! 😯
That's so spooky, cause that's what that one Doomsday Cult called it. 😂
Still pretty cool, tho.
Am I the only one who is hypnotized by her perfect hair every video?
IKR, and her perfectly applied red lipstick. Oh how I wish I could rock red lipstick like she does!
No. No, you are not. I knew someone with hair just like that, but it was on a guy.
Lio Murdest no
Lio Murdest Me too!!
She has the most beautiful, healthy hair I've ever seen.
When I die I want my tomb to offer free WiFi so people visit me more offen ⚰️📲
Lovely Yet Forgotten 😹
Genius
This is brilliant 😂
Lovely Yet Forgotten that's honestly a good ass idea lol
But what happens when WiFi becomes antiquated? Antiquated Yet Forgotten.
My dad is a gravedigger, and there's a monument in his cemetery that has the Starship Enterprise carved on it, blasting its lasers at a buck. The guy was a hunter and a trekkie, I guess.
Please don't tell my husband. He already joked about having his tombstone written in Klingon. 🤣💀
That is amazing
*phasers
Sorry
That’s rad
If your grave has the Enterprise shooting lasers at a trophy buck, you might be aredneck trekkie•
My dad would have loved that!!
He has a deer...
I saw a gravestone in a very old likely Puritan cemetery in Salem, MA that featured a quote stuck with me. It read, “Time was I stood as you do now, And view the dead as thou doft me, E’re long you’ll lay as low as I, Eid others stand and gaze on thee.” I kind of love how it brings the reader to think of their own mortality as well as reminding them that the person buried there once did the same.
Casey Eddins That sounds like an old version of my favorite. "Reader, be aware as you pass by, as you are now so once was I. As I am now, you soon shall be. So be prepared to follow me."
You can tell he was a pondering, thinking man. Very respectable and thought provoking quote
I love that. If I get a marker for where I wish to be buried (I want to do a green burial, biodegradable shroud, biodegradable casket, and buried so that the land becomes hallowed and saved from development), I want that written on mine. It reminds one of what's to come to us all, and to enjoy what one has now.
Kyra Marie thanks, you just gave me the idea of wanting that put on my grave stone when i die.
That is beautiful. ❤
I once saw an epitaph in verse at a cemetery near Gettysburg, Pennsylvania:
"As you are now
So I once was,
As I am now,
So you shall be."
Such a history rich state! I'm from PA and want so badly to see Gettysburg. I'm hours away by Scranton though. It's about a 7hr drive.
That was a popular one in the 19th Century.
That's actually my great aunt's grave in Quaker Cemetery Perryopolis Pennsylvania
A similar sentiment is at the entrance to the catacombs in Paris. "We were once like you; you will become like us."
Lmao I like it cuz it's kinda taunting.
My mom was a nurse and loved teddy bears. For her tombstone, I put a teddy in a nurse hat cradling her picture. I'm pretty happy with it. It's very her.
Awesome idea!
That sounds lovely
That's beautiful.
That very sweet!
My mom does too! Those old fashioned one that are much heavier due to it's filling. I can't remember what they used to stuff them with, but yeah.. she loves those. She have one very special one that she got from her mother, this teddy bear was her first one, and if I remember correctly, it was the first toy she got for just herself, not for all the kids to share.
She's taken extremely well care of it, it's really cute. She even sometimes buys it new clothes! It's got both a winter outfit and a summer outfit, haha. Also a special christmas sweater. Totally adorable.
She's said she'll pass it on to me to take care of after her. I know I'll cherish that forever. ❤❤❤
I lost my great grandma today and I was thinking about you!! I was ALWAYS scared of dead bodies, but I'm glad I met you and today I could kiss her forehead. Okay, it was cold and felt weird, but I'm glad I took this painful moment in the best way, thank you so much 💕
great grandma*
Cecília
Condolences
Cecília Oh I am glad you could be with her and say goodbye. I couldn't do that with my Dad 4 years ago and I'm still really cut up about it, it's making it harder to heal. Having those final memories of her mean your mind 'knows' she's dead in a way that it doesn't when the person has just died without you being able to say goodbye to their body.
On my husband’s & my tombstone it has a quote from Will Rogers: “If there are no dogs in heaven, when I die I want to go where they went.”
Short & sweet.
Are you married to my fiance? 😂
And cats. And other pets 💖
Welcome to hell ...
😍😍😍😍 they deffdeff makes that place lovelier
None of us are worthy.
One of my friends from high school once said that she wants her headstone to read “this happened because I didn’t forward that email” on it.
Better than an old chain letter, I'm still worried I didn't make 20 copies & forward to all of my small Xmas list.
I saw a gravestone that said
*"I told you I was sick."*
I proceeded to laugh my butt off.
I think that stone belongs to comedian Spike Milligan.
If it was in Gaelic - that was Spike Milligan's gravestone - wonderful man
My grandma's stone says that.. she had a great sense of humor
When my boyfriend passed away suddenly at age 22, he was in the middle of finishing his final project in a computer science degree. His family decided to honour that by having a stone laptop made for his gravestone. It suits him perfectly.
3.30 - ‘carve me like one of your French reapers.’
Bahahahahahahahaha
so glad its not just me. I also loved the winged face which looks like its rolling its eyes.
Pretty sure my Tombstone will say, "have you tried turning it off and back on again?"
power cycle ftw
Saving this for my husband 😂👌
THIS IS GREAT 😂😂😂😂
You're a fucking genius!
Oh that's freaking good. I heard that.
Somehow I'd find it kinda fascinating if Harry Potter fans started getting deathly hollows symbols on their headstones. (There's a certain irony there.)
Eventually archeologists/historians may end up thinking that HP was a religious thing.
MichiruEll ...you're not entirely wrong there
"Eventually archeologists/historians may end up thinking that HP was a religious thing."
But it IS! ;-)
I know I'd worship Harry Potter before I would worship the god most people I know worship. I don't think Harry would create people just to send them to hell if they didn't bow down and kiss his ass.
Isn't it tho???
It is to some people, I personally prefer the flying spaghetti monster

When my little sister died, we started seeing a lot of butterflies around, so the image we placed on her tombstone was of a baby girl sitting on a leaf, with a bunch of butterflies tied to it, who flew her to the afterlife. It was nice to be able to get something so personalized. Often the pictures you see on the tombstones around the child area of the cemetery are just generic teddy bear images or similar. I think people weren't really aware they could get anything they wanted.
I really want something snarky or fun to read so decades after everyone has forgotten about me, someone will come across my headstone and have a chuckle.
Actually, it might be her spirit reaching out to you. When someone passes, it can happen that you see things that they liked or that represent them all around you, as a sign that they're ok and they're watching over you.☺
The butterfly is so personal and sweet. What I want is a maple or oak tree and a bench under it. Under that I want me name and “Finally got to sleep for once!
I haven't noticed any butterflies at my local cemetery, but they're a very common motif on sympathy cards here in the UK.
That is beautiful.
I’m a potter and I just made an urn for a good friend of mine he died at the age of 35 leaving two small kids I was actually able to get both of his sons hand prints on the Clay that way they can hold him forever
Aww that is so touching. Sorry for your and their loss.
Amazing gift. Even if they don’t know it now. 🥰
He was so blessed to have a friend like you. I hope & pray you are all getting on alright.
when I read " 'I'm a potter" I legit thought you were related to harry potter
Beautiful
My father was always good for a Dad joke so we put this on the back of his tombstone:
"Thanks for visiting. Pardon me for not getting up"
I like that he still gets to give people a smile.
If my headstone doesn't say: "She put the DIE in Diabetes" I will personally haunt my relatives for the next 100 years.
Kayla G this comment took me out
Kayla G mine will say she joined the black parade
Loved this! I have terminal cancer and want a scene engraved on the back of my tombstone: A bridge to the stars with me as a barefoot child stepping onto the bridge with a half-dozen kitties following me. I like crowns, too, and like the idea of a crown over my name on the front. My SIL has promised to bury me in my favorite crown. And I don't want anybody to be sad at my funeral - I've had a good life.
indigobluepics that sounds so so beautiful i hope you can enjoy whatever time is left for you, i dont know you but i admire the bravery and send you a big hug from México. Also why the kittens?, just curious
I love cats and have had them all my life. I have 2 now and will take the previous 4 with me in their cremation urn. Thanks!

indigobluepics- you sound like a beautiful person. Your idea for your tombstone is adorable and should bring a smile to many visitors' faces. I wish you all the best.
"Finally I get to sleep as long as I want!". That's gonna be my epitaph.
I would like my tombstone to read " Thin at Last".

I love that. Not too many people like her. She was truly something. Would love to see her Azul House one day...
@J G - In the future here. Halloween 2021 has just passed by in New York, USA. We had one teenaged girl who came by dressed as Frida Kahlo. On Mum's memorial plaque I reflected her grammar fastidiousness as a high school english teacher. It was the first time the company had ever had crossed out words on their work.
To (crossed out) Two (crossed out) Too beloved to be forgotten.
I think it would have made her chuckle.
Thats so brilliant! I’m a mega “grammar-nazi” too haha so this is really awesome. Sorry for your loss, bet she would love the plaque you chose ❤️
I'm sure she would have approved. We both have an odd sense of humor so hopefully it doesn't offend too many wall viewers.
I had one other time towards the end of her life when I shocked her, and I think I made her proud.
When we talked to her about the radiation therapy she would undergo, she told me they would have to tattoo her to help pinpoint the spots to blast. She thought I was joking when I said, "You get a tattoo, so do I."
I was lucky enough to have her write Remember when..., before I took a day at home (the swelling in her hands was pretty bad) so on my day away I got her hand writing tattooed on the inside of my left wrist. Revealing it to her the next day and her gasp of, "You cheeky girl!" was worth the 10 minutes of irritation.
This really moved me. To me this speaks of love, connection and acceptance of one another. Thank you for sharing. I am sorry for your loss.

BENTHAM’S HEAD AT THE VERY END 😂😂😂😂
Kennedy Smith I know I nearly choked on my tea when Bentham's head popped onto the screen. Great way to start the day huh - a death positive video with a bit of a laugh at the end, & a near death experience. What more could you ask for on a Saturday morning? (I'm in Australia so it's Saturday not Friday here)
Only came to the comments to see if anyone else noticed Bentham's head. It may have only been there a second but it made my day, I'll be smiling to myself all day now lol.
Like you Amethyst, I'm Australian so it's Saturday morning for me too
Kennedy Smith I LOL'd! I had to watch it pop out one more time lol
Yeah I was expecting some thing djfferent like the creepy voice saying "year of content" but its Bentham's head!! Caitlyn do really know how to make us laugh!
Yeah and here I go saying it all day again as a random exclamation for everything lol.
I visited cemeteries when I was younger, the most memorial epitaph was “as you live on in angst and dread, we live in peace amongst the dead.” I’ll never forget that.
When we were picking out my sister's headstone we walked by one in progress that was very interesting. A woman was designing it, after her husband had passed. It was tall and kind of like a lamppost in shape. About 4ft. The top had a box with the front having holes. See the lady planned to be cremated and have her remains (probably first in another box), sealed in the top. But, because she was afraid of the dark, she wanted the holes so light would shine in. I find it fascinating how people do things. We are interesting creatures for sure.
Personally, I find the winged faces even more terrifying then the winged skulls. (I like the one with flowers.)
Me too!
Girl preach. Lol the skulls all had fierce eye brows though. Yaaasss. Lol
They were ahead of their time.
I live in Atlantic County New Jersey and I was at a family member's funeral when my uncle pulled me aside 2 cheer me up. Apparently he had found a gravestone saying" I'd rather be breathing". It did the job and I love my uncle for it. I wish I could remember more details about where I was but it was many years ago.
My husband dad died a few years ago. His grave is already set up for his mom to join him. It has 2 golfers on it and it says "our last hole together" when i saw it I laughed really loudly. it was bad there were lots of dirty looks from the other family members. All except my husband and his mom. That was the intended response.
Concetta LaNasa That's sweet and nice that he could give his loved ones a final laugh. I can see my brother doing that.
One of my freinds passed away in high school and he always said "that's what she said" and constantly wore a shirt that said it as well and when he passed away his family put "that's what she said" on his head stone
I would "like" this, but it's at *69.* Ohh, I don't know if I should just _go_ for it!
😏
Sounds like Michael from The Office.
I have a friend who once joked about doing precisely this when she dies. I am definitely telling her this story. 🤣💀
In my town's graveyard there's a large marble statue of a boy, maybe 6 years old, sitting on his own gravestone, happily playing his gameboy. A pair of large, marble wings surround him. It's the first thing you see when you enter the graveyard, and such a beautiful tribute.
I am LIVING for that sassy skeleton @3:30
ahahaha I laughed at that sexy pose, too lol
YAAAAS KWEEEEENNNN SLAYYYY
"Draw me like one of your dead girls..."
Me too lol
Haha me too! So sultry. So sassy.
It's not a symbol but definitely my favourite is the "Kay's Fudge" tombstone, a tombstone with a recipe engraved on it. I like to think that the owner refused to give out the recipe in life, "over my dead body", and/or that a wrong ingredient or measurement was included just to mess with people.
I feel like there's something to be examined in the similarity of tombstone symbols and the pagan runestone...
And I swear in Hocus Pocus, there's a winged death head on Billy Butcherson's tombstone.
Laura Simmons Well, he was a Puritan wasn’t he?
Laura Simmons that is GENIUS. Now i'm gonna have to get one of my favorite recipes on my headstone
One option: a beautiful angel with an epitaph reading “I blinked...”

My favorite tombstone... Probably the one that reads, "I told you I was sick!"
Elizabeth Cat my grandma has been addicted to prescription drugs for the past 30 years and also hypochondriac so that would be her dream tombstone (sorry is english is weird, not my native language)
lmfao!!!! A Munchausen's Syndrome gravestone!!
Spike Milligan grave stone says exactly that!!
"Here lies a father of 29. There would have been more but he didn't have time." "Here lays the body of Lester Moore. Killed by a bullet from a .44. No less, no more."
"Dúirt mé leat go raibh mé breoite."
Which is on Spike Milligan's grave.

Georgia, I hope you can get well. If not, at least you have this awesome channel to help you on your journey. It has certainly helped me. She is a real inspiration to us all. Hope that you feel better soon.
yeah! I remember playing Oregon Trail in school and always typing "Pepperoni and cheese :(" on every single tombstone in the game.
Did anyone else laugh at the random Benthams head at the very end 😂
My dad's stone has a beer mug on it, cause you know.....he likes beer!
This would be perfect for my dad too, haha
Jodie Nolan My grandfather had a trombone carved into his headstone
sterling day that's neat. I play trombone. Not good enuff to had it on a tombstone. Its weird about the one thing people want to he remembered for. A mug of cold beer, or trombone.
I like the idea of putting something on the headstone that reflects who the person was or what they liked. My grandma chose a wooded scene with deer for my grandpa's headstone because he liked the outdoors and hunting. They also built in a little display area for mini John Deere tractors because he worked for John Deere all of his life. You can see the tractors but it would be almost impossible to get them out. They've been in there for almost 18 years now. It's a perfect reflection of who my grandpa was.
Kaylee F How mini are those tractors?
My tombstone: End Of Act I.
I personally don't want a tombstone. I want to be loaded into fireworks and blown up over a crowd. I just don't want to be cremated first.
Bonus if they play "It's Raining Men" during the... show.
Hahahaahaha. =D
oh crap your comment is hilarious!
good song choice! lmao
"When I die, I'd like to have my remains scattered along the beach. That said I do not wish to be cremated." - Dana Gould
That’s a great clarification!
I have asked my wife to place on my tombstone..."Here lies Jason. He was only trying to help." This is an inside joke with my family and friends. I am always trying to help but often making things worse. It happens so much it's basically a family meme. I think I might want a winged death's head too, though. Those things are metal.
One of the cemeteries at my university features the grave of a gentleman with possibly the best tombstone I’ve ever seen:
✨“HERE LIES THE BEST DAMN MOONSHINER THAT EVER LIVED”✨
And the best part? The reverse is just a huge engraved image of the man with his moonshine still.
Imma have “Well, at least I won’t have to go to work tomorrow”
Super late to adding this! There is a headstone in Logan, Utah made of legos. The child’s father made the LEGO headstone because that is what he and his son did a lot. Alone the sides of the headstone there are little window scenes of knights saving princesses, and probably things that means something in their relationship. It’s a very unique, and well done gravestone.
Sooo sweet 😢
I'm gonna have Sailor Saturn with her glaive on my tombstone.
Very goth. I like it.
YES! Sailor Saturn is the best one!

@John Titor Ding ding ding! Give the man a banana! "It's a good source of potassium!"
We have a couple of really interesting graves near me. One is in the shape of a table, apparently the deceased was a big fan of gambling and booze and requested a card table be set up on his grave. The other is a full size child's play house built over the grave of a little girl who died before her father could finish building it for her as a Christmas gift. It has windows and awnings and even a little walkway.
Damn.
Poor little girl😢
"I am deceased!" will do
Possibly with a footnote of "benthams head" now
I don't really want a headstone, but if I did I'd like a nice "recycle" logo.
I feel like there was a missed opportunity here to say "and this is just the tip of the obelisk" rather than "death iceberg." Excellent video.
I just want "Well that was weird..."
hahhaahaa! me too
Lol! Perfect!

"death is nothing at all

@@teresalanham2678 Hi, I feel as if I know you and I'm glad. You're very special. Little acts of kindness can indeed change the world. The truth is, anything that powerful isn't little. To answer your question, I'm going along day by day, more or less okay. I try to look outward and upward, away from myself But that's easier said than done, as you well know. Sometimes the Next Room seems a world away but it's good to know it's there. For us and anyone else who may read this, I found a wonderful book by CS Lewis. The first little word in the title is very important: "A" Grief Observed. It's his personal journal he wrote as he was trying to cope while mourning his wife's death. He later decided to publish it to help others and it has become one of the most widely read books of the 20th century. It legitimizes whatever someone grieving might be feeling and poignantly affirms that each person's grieving process is unique, real and valid. Because Lewis was such a strong and faithful Christian, his recounting of the "Midnight Madness" mixture of anger, doubt, pain and sometimes desolate loneliness is especially consoling. Through it all he never lost his faith or his genuinely human relational God. Speaking for myself, it is God's son Who has kept me afloat. With Him and no less, gentle caring people like you I can be genuinely okay, deep down knowing I am not alone and that I can make it to and through tomorrow. I don't know what your personal faith convictions are but I don't think it's any accident that your name is Teresa. The one I call "Little Teresa", God's Little Flower, made every act, even picking up a pin, an act of love. You reflect her. The other Theresa (of Ávila), the one I call "Big Teresa", was a woman with the strength of iron and a love to match. Such are you. God bless always. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Inscribed on the stone of astronomer Jack Horkheimer: "Still looking up!" (His catch phrase was "Keep looking up!")
We had on our baby's tombstone a lamb in the arms of Christ the shepherd. Mine will probably just say "I'm outta here". BTW. I noticed your Jeannie bottle in the background and so envision you turning into a puff of pink smoke and living eternally in that bottle. Haha
Sue M me too. I wanted her to turn around and rub it off some reason. But it looks like a funeral home to me honestly. Nothing personal.
That's actually an old Jim Bean whisky bottle. :P
There's this grave I noticed a few years ago, at the cemetery my grandma is buried; on top of where the casket is, there lies a marble sculpture of girl (actual human sized) on top of a marble "bed", almost as if she's sleeping. It always catches my eye, and for some reason I always believed that the person to whom the grave belongs might have been a young girl from a wealth family who died unexpectedly, and so her family wanted to build a beautiful and breathtaking grave.
Here in Utah we have several “mysterious tombstones” but not more talked about then Lilly e gray’s under the date it has “victim of the beast 666” etched in it. She passed in 1958.
Ayra Laputa yes she’s in the salt lake cemetery off of 11th Avenue. She’s in the north east part of the cemetery.
I am in Utah too, need to check that out. I have become fond of wandering around cemeteries reading the headstones.
Now I wanna go to Utah!
My tombstone shall read "He sleeps by day"
Best comment!! I lol for real
I frigging love the tombstone of Emily Dickinson. For the date she died it states: "Called Back" and the date. So badass! 👏👏👏
I want an Opossum, with the epitaph, “she’s not playing around this time” lol!! (Actually, I plan to be donated then cremated...)
I want "They Bored Me To Death" on my tombstone.
Every time I go to a cemetery, I see dead people. You see, here in Russia we put the photo of the dead person on their tombstone. It is either printed on the stone itself or on a simple metal oval that is later nailed to a cross or a stone. I know that it is not a widespread tradition in many countries, so I thought it would be interesting to share.
Блудное Молоко this tradition is also common in Bulgaria :)
Angelika T. Yeah, I guess it's a Slavic/post-USSR thing)
That tradition has become widely practiced in the city I am from. I like it. Won't have one of my own but that is simply because I will be doing direct cremation.
Same in Portugal.
There are some of those "photo" ovals in our local cemeteries in Northern California, USA that date back to the 1800's. Not only do they depict the person while alive, but several of them have a second oval that shows them either in their coffin or lying on a bed after death. Kind of like before and after photos. I suppose the idea was brought overseas from Europe when these people came to the California for the gold rush. I have also seen these same photo ovals on much more recent headstones lately.
Saw this on a headstone once: "All you who read with little care,
who walk away and leave me here
Should not forget that you must die,
and be entombed as well as I"
😱☠👻
My husband’s grave stone has a semi truck on it. Written in the back part it says still trucking
Susan Yost my husband wants that too. Also with some cat heavy machines.
My dad's oldest brother died before I was born and his stone has the phases of the moon on it along with 🎵Comfortably Numb🎵
Music notes and all. It's beautiful
Okay, I think I've decided: If I'm going to have a tombstone, I want a skeleton in the same pose that Kate Winslet is in in Titanic when she is posing for the portrait.
That made me giggle...perfect!
With the necklace too, yeah? 🙂
I've seen a tombstone that said (Well this sucks) I'll probably go with that.
Caught the "tombstone pizza" reference right away! Haha.
Me, too
Me, too! 😁
it took a minute but i remember them, they were the less annoying variety of commercials,,
I was hoping she would say it lol
Came to tell Caitlin she's not alone. And you guys too!
If I die this year, I'll have put
"Twenty Years Past Expiration Date", as I almost died in 2000 🤣😹
Happy for you to have made it!
@@guest9810
Thank you! It's now 21 years 😹
My mother has a horse and a sun on her gravestone, so I'd go with a horse as well. I'll skip the sun, though. A winged skull would be cool. Maybe a skeleton horse??? Yeah, a skeleton horse for sure.
A horse skeleton, you say? Well, your grave carver will have to visit a lot of natural history museums and veterinarians for reference...
Thestrals.
@@joannamysluk8623 Or just make some really good lasagna...
A Skeleton Horse with WINGS! How about that? :D
Binky?
I would like my tombstone to say "Find a cure for Lupus already" because if I die young like my doctor's think I will I'm going to be an angry ghost so hopefully the ghost hunters will read it and raise a fund for future lupies
Heather Chisholm aww, this makes me sad. I have been officially diagnosed with lupus, but I know I have some kind of autoimmune disease. It’s one of the diseases that almost no one talks about
Same here
My favorite headstone is in the woods of North Central Florida. It just says,"MURDERED" 1851
Looking gorgeous as always! . Love you and your personality
Blunt bangs is so brave girl. Lol I love it. The growing it out is the problem. But if ur like our Kaitlyn u will never change it. Lol little shade. But seriously she has had that hair cut for over a decade. At least its not a mullet though. And there is my tombstone....."at least I didnt have a mullet".
I WANT MY CASKET TO BE PUSHED OFF A BUILDING
...onto your enemies?
And then? Lol makes no sense. U crash onto a street and what? Hold up traffic for hours or r we stopping all traffic for ur impending crash? So ur death can resemble ur life as a complete mess? Lol maybe be pushed off a building into a empty parking deck of a building to be imploded. Eh why? Just why?
I would prefer a volcano. Would that even be possible?
I mean legally?
Jess Hammond you must be real fun at parties, huh
Dj_Pj69 KrstyCrB be creative... Put candy in it.. Like a death pinata.
I like “Goodbye and thanks for all the fish!”
Hahaha...I’d have put that on my ex husband’s headstone. He had a autographed picture of Steve Martin with that quote framed and hanging in our living room.
I'd love to put a QR code on my stone and when people scan it it takes them to a page that keeps updating as though I were blogging from the beyond...
Hey Caitlin, I have an important question to ask if you could get to it. I know that you’ve basically said there is almost no circumstance where family can be prevented from seeing their dead loved ones. Recently, a family friend lost her daughter, and because of improper care in the country she died in, she partially decomposed. The funeral home refused to let her see her daughter, and she never got to say goodbye.
So normally I feel this would be illegal, but my boyfriend did mention that maybe she was acting hysterical and was being kept out for her safety. Would that be a legitimate reason to keep someone from their dead loved one? Or is this still an example of a funeral home acting like they have complete control over the body when they don’t?
Thanks if you get to this!
ItzReesieCup she adressed something similar on her, i think, penultimate video it might help you; the video had an casket with and US flag on the thumbnail
*ItzReesieCup* I've liked your comment to help bump it up the comments list - not that I like its content! :/ I am truly appalled that your friend should have been treated this way. I would be hysterical too if my daughter had been disrespected in such a manner! I hope Caitlyn gets to answer you as I am keen to know the answer too. Sorry for your loss.
Hoping to bump so you get your answer!
Maybe they thought it would be too traumatic to see the body, as you mentioned it was partially decomposed? Can understand how sad that must have been though 😓
ItzReesieCup You are an disgrace to the funetal ptofession.
3:30 "I want you to draw me like one of your French skeletons."
I think my favourite grave is that of a catholic and protestant couple that weren't allowed to be buried together, their tombstones are back to back separated by the wall between the graveyards, but at the top of their stones, they have wee stone hands above the wall, joining the two together! Go look it up its so heartbreaking...
dinnikeato location, state, a clue as to location?
The Netherlands, not the USA. The wife chose to be buried with her Catholic nobility.
I have seen that photo and you’re right, it’s heartbreaking. To think that these two people married, lived together, had children (I believe), lived their lives out together, and in the end, when everything was said and done, to be buried in separate cemeteries all because of religion. I like to think that they were loved so much by their children, that the children MADE sure that they were buried head-to-head, and that they made that simple, beautiful little tombstone with the hands clasping over the cemetery wall just for them. What a gentle reminder that, while life may not be easy and it may seem everything and everyone is against you, love does conquer all - even if occasionally it needs a bit of help now and again.
As to the location, I’m sorry that I cannot recall where this is located at, but I do believe it is in Europe. For some reason, I’m thinking Poland, but I could not tell you why or even if that is correct. As I recall, it was an older cemetery, did not appear to have a lot of damage, and had large trees. I give this information (as best as I can recall, it has been some time since I have seen the photo but is still very powerful), because as the time I was doing research on WWII, but I cannot remember if this was just a sideline I came across or what. I do remember thinking, “This beautiful little piece made it thru.” And it is a beautiful little piece.

Yeah, I come from an interfaith family and my parents haven't figured out what they're going to do yet, so that one hits close to home.
My dad passed away from cancer about 4 years ago and we can now finally afford his monument. I grew up on a poultry farm because my dad loved birds, so we depicted the kind of fowl we raised like chickens, doves, wild turkeys, pheasants, and peacocks.
There is no logical explanation for how happy “Bentham’s head” makes me. But I don’t care.
it's more of a name pun, but in my local cemetery theres a tombstone for someone with the name "noel" however the name isn't fully written and instead it just reads "C. Noel" wich in french phonetically translates to "it's christmas" wich I always found really funny lol.
Those Tombstone Pizza ads are pretty recent for some of us... sort of like hearing your recent music favourites on the "Oldies" station. :-/
Exactly! And here I was thinking, "Oh, c'mon, that wasn't THAT long ago, was it? ...oh, I guess it was. Crud."
I remember them. I started thinking that the early 90s weren't that long ago until I remembered that they were about 25 years ago. Dang, how did that happen?
Kaylee F
At least you didn't think they were ONLY 25 years ago... like I did. heh
I got to go to the Sleepy Hollow cemetery in 2019 and you can really see the evolution of tomb stone iconography it’s so freaking cool!!
Back in highschool, my friend's lit class got a project to create epitaphs (i think it had something to due with a Shakespeare play they were reading at the time). They could create an epitaph for just about anyone and anything, so my friend asked if they could write an epitaph for me. This is what they came up with:
"Catherine M. lieth here
And if you dig her up, I fear,
Her mouth will still be moving on,
Despite the fact that she is gone."
While a bit insulting, I was more insulted that she put my death date at 12/13/2012... Regardless, I kept the "grave stone" she put the epitaph on. It still taped to my wall, and I'll probably have it on my gravestone when the time comes.
Omg that could literally be mine if you asked any of my family....😂👏
You weren't supposed to live so long
That’s pretty doggone funny.
That could be mine too!
favorite tombstone is easily of a wheelchair bound child, the statue depicting him getting up from the chair and reaching for the sky
Yay ableism! 😬

I was exploring my local graveyard one time, and I stumbled into a section from around WWII where the graves were all for babies and the headstones were topped with lambs. That symbology is definitely my favorite
Symbolism...the word is symbolism.
The skeleton faces are far more comforting than the cherub heads...
I want a cool skeleton carved in marble. But the cost...
DrGrukar McNinjaSixthGun, we had a lady carve a portrait of our parents on their tombstone after Dad died (Mom's still with us) and the stone and everything was a couple thou. Not bad. Looks really good, too! A skeleton is probably lots easier than a portrait. She used a tool that looked like a tattoo gun to carve it.
My favorite headstone simply reads “I told you I was sick”.
