- Brandon police say 21 men were arrested in the southwestern Manitoba city during a sexual exploitation bust in the first week of June.
Project Blockade, a two-day investigation led by the Brandon Police Service in collaboration with the Winnipeg Police Service and the RCMP, focused on sexual exploitation both online and on the streets, according to a Tuesday news release.
The men, who were taken into custody in the streets of downtown Brandon and at local hotels, were arrested for obtaining sexual services for consideration or making communication in any place for that purpose, police say.
Nine of the arrests led to vehicles being seized under a section of the Highway Traffic Act involving prostitution-related impoundment of vehicles.
All of the men arrested have been released on an undertaking, police say.
