I like the ODB-3 distortion because it doesn't have the typical nasty 'jingle bells' frequency in the 2k range or it just has that treble fizz instead, although this may have to do with your signal chain, so I guess it would be helpful to know a bit more specifics about the chain you used here.. guitar/pickup type? amp? mic?
I used an Harley Benton SC550 with passive Roswell LAF humbucker in bridge position. Cheap cable into Blackstar Fly in OD mode with gain at 14 o´clock, tone at 10 o´clock. Recorded with an Samsung phone audio + movie.
@@fritzsguitars - Interesting. I don't own the pedal, but I think the distortion you're getting from the ODB-3 in this video is amazingly flat and damn near perfect, especially since it doesn't have those awful frequencies in 2000 khz range. Only thing is, the low end doesn't 'chug' and sounds a bit too muddy. The distortion is something that's very hard to achieve though. How you've managed to rid it of the 2000 khz range is amazing. I will tell you from 25+ years of experience that those frequencies are almost impossible to eliminate when using higher end tube amps mic'd up with a sm57. Do you attribute the flat distortion response to mostly the ODB-3? Thanks for sharing.
No idea, maybe just luck or it is the OBD, I mean it is made to be used for bass guitar and not guitar. You might check other of my pedal movies, I used the same setup. Greets
Killer demo. 😎🤘🏻🎸 the boss odb-3 sounds incredible on guitar. Even though it’s made for bass, it definitely sounds killer with guitar.
Thx :)
