Ahh yes Ticks, I don’t know if they are more common than black widows for most of the year, in In spring most definitely they give me the creeps those things. Once you see one or get one on you everything feels like a tick is crawling in you. Great point thanks
Thanks for the reply. I miss Kamloops. I live in North Vancouver, and haven’t been there in a few years. I use to frequent there every summer since the early 80s. I don’t have a reliable vehicle now, so I can’t make it. Seems Kamloops has been inundated with people. It was a small town when I lived there.. I see all kinds of people making videos. To me it use to be a hidden gem, that not too many people knew. Eve where I live it’s gone crazy for people. At one time Kamloops was a good escape. I miss the good old days.
Thanks for sharing, yes definitely crime can be an issue in some areas, I think the Fraser Valley has more tent cities set up. Unfortunately it seems there is a lot of Poverty everywhere these days no matter where you live.
Yes those are all a short drive from one another, hit Costco then stop in for a car wash on your way to Canadian Tire, or to Aberdeen Mall or down the hill to Walmart, Micheal’s, the Dollar Store or Home Depot.
Is there a reason you didnt mention the homeless problem? All so why didn't you mention that Kamloops has the highest crime per capita in Canada. Kamloops is great if you have a ton of money and real shit for the middle class and below. Have a friend that lives there in the past 3 years they have had two trucks and a boat stolen. There shop has been vandalized and broke into. He all so tells me that some businesses don't have bathrooms because the drug and overdose rates are so high. But I will say it is a stunning place visually and with enough money a very fun place to visit.
I didnt mention the homeless problem because every town that I have visited has that concern, it's just in different areas in each town. Some of the areas have more struggles than others. Our prices compared to the Fraser Valley are much more affordable. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
lol pretty rare you will see a cougar unless you are up on the mountains in their area, bears those are everywhere and pretty sure you'll see a coyote before you see a wolf. All depends on what sort of property you are looking for. If you are looking for land that backs onto Crown Land well, you might get to see a whole bunch of wildlife.
Nearby finished the process of getting a working visa from Ireland as a car mechanic and have been eyeing up Kamloops for the last year or two, looks beautiful 🇮🇪
You missed a pro about Kamloops, radio stations. My favourite is K97.5 (Brad and Alesha) and second favourite is 98.3 CIFM. You also missed the Blazers
Homelessness, can’t walk downtown without a risk of being attacked, or me who works a six figure job and can’t afford a house, $400,000 for an apartment.
Sheesh - the background music is intrusive. I lasted about 40 seconds before I left this contribution. Not everyone likes your pseudo rap or attempt to be cool. The content after this is probably exemplary, but I was not prepared to suffer that "experience"
Currently in the process of the immigration process- potentially to Kamloops as a physiotherapist from the U.K.
Very excited.
That's fantastic you will really like our weather here!
@@Livinginkamloopsandtnrd yeah so I’ve heard! 4 seasons, even when it’s snowing in the winter it’s still a blue sky - sounds perfect.
@@adamthomas4507 How has it been thus far?
Kamloops has a great freeway system. At one time they had the longest 6-lane freeway in the province
Hi Kevin...planning to buy a medium sized motorhome to live in...are there any places where I could park and hook up somewhere? Not fussy!!
One thing you failed to mention is ticks. They are way more common than rattlesnakes or black widow spiders. There is a lot of ticks in the spring.

There are nice areas but Kamloops had the highest crime rate in the country in 2024. There is a lot of poverty and homelessness.

Another con is city taxes it seem every year they add another item to the tax bill
Yes I agree I think in lots of areas of BC people saw their taxes jump and their assessments jump on their homes.
Black widows and rattle snakes... and here I was worried about wolves, cougars and bears, oh my.

Rattlesnakes and widows are harmless if treated appropriately. Never had an issue with either.
will I be able to find a job with 7 years experience in Wearhouse and logistics ? and my wife 4 years with hr experience
I think you would not have a problem finding a job out here. Lots of places looking for workers.
What about Costco?
Great video Kevin!!!!

that's really expensive . How about the rent ?
You can buy a trailer home for well under 200k
😂
Cant walk in downtown ? You gotta be kidding
Great Sir❤️👌
Is it better than Ontario? Hahaha also any welders needed there?
It's fantastic here ;).everyone is hiring. Not enough workers.
Anything is better than Ontario 😂😂😂😂😂
Its only good for seniors or snowboarders
I have had plenty of older generation purchase, lots of great area's next to the river, or golf courses! Weather is easier on the joints also!
pros good scenery cons crack town

Offended by a small selection of soundwaves.
Honestly, I liked this music:)
