2023 Special Olympics Indiana Summer Games at Terre Haute, Indiana

Here we are at the beautiful Terre Haute, Indiana for the 2023 Special Olympics Indiana Summer Games! We had a great time at the Opening Ceremonies inside Terre Hautes own Rose Hulman Arena! Terre Haute, Indiana is in Vigo County and is 0.5 and hour west of Indianapolis! A long time ago, right before I came into this world, the Special Olympics Indiana held the Summer Games program in Indianapolis, Indiana at Bush Stadium! Now, a few years later, the games 1st took place in Terre Haute, Indiana and will continue to be held there!
A very big #shoutout goes to 2 of our Special Olympics Indiana athletes from our county program Marion County Washington Township Special Olympics our friends Alec Spaulding and Charlotte Miller! These guys served as the announcers as we all entered inside the Hulman Arena building! Well done Alec and Charlotte! You guys nailed it at the ceremonies!
Another #shoutout goes to another one of our friends from Marion County Washington Township Special Olympics: Liz Strong! Liz recited the Special Olympics Oath! The Oath is always recited during any competitions all around the United States! The Oath is just like a plaque to show all athletes will intellectual disabilities all around the world that they can do more than just win medals and ribbons! It's about celebrating everyone's efforts and supporting one to another! Positive attitude and good sportsmanship also plays a roll around every sport!
