The Amazing Spider-Man is hands down the most underrated Spider-Man movie. I still remember when it was first coming out and it was getting a lot of hate because everyone thought it was too soon for a reboot after Tobey Maguire’s trilogy. But I watched it in theaters and it was genuinely a lot of fun.
It´s never been underrated.
Sure he plays the role really good and Emma is always amazing but it lacked depth compared to the other trilogy.
He deserved a 3rd movie honestly.
As of now that's not a reboot anymore, just a film sets in a seperate universe.

It's a common misconception that Peter Parker turned into Spider-Man because he was bit by a radioactive spider, but it was really the conversation with Uncle Ben that made him Spider-Man.
But didn’t he have his conversation with uncle Ben before he was bit? Unless you mean he remembered that conversation and that’s what made him Spider-Man
It wasn’t one or the other. It was both that made him Spider-Man.
No. The spider bite made him Spider-Man, and his uncle's dialog made him a hero.
Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone have a great chemistry. In the comics both of Peter’s parents were spies even working for S.H.I.E.L.D. in some versions

I don't care what anyone says, Andrew Garfield is my favorite Spider-Man. Sure, I saw Tobey Maguire in all 3 of the first movies in the theater and had a blast, but nostalgia aside, I felt Andrew Garfield captured the comic book character better.
I like how Andrew showed Peter’s intelligence, as well as Spidey’s humor in his portrayal.
Plus, he has a gymnastics background, and he MADE his suit! 🕷️

Great reaction! I love each of the movie incarnations of Spider-Man, one of my all-time favorite characters, and it's nearly impossible to pick a favorite. Andrew did a fantastic job, and added more to the character each time he played him.
To me, Andrew is the closest to the actual character!! He did an awesome job!!

The late great James Horner absolutely killed it with his Spider-Man theme, it sounds inspiring, hopeful, and make you picture in your head what it feels like to swing through NYC.
Love that you brought up the score, which many people tend to gloss over. Horner was one of the greats.

Batman's secret identity is Bruce Wayne. Bruce Wayne, whenever Batman comes up, has nothing _positive_ to say about him. He talks about things like how a man who runs around in a _bat_ suit clearly has _issues._ That sort of thing. He feeds this attitude by whoever he's with that he and Batman are two different _people._
Take the same approach, Peter. You want to feed the same suspicion.
For my personal preferences This is my favorite Peter Parker in Live-Action. This movie does a great job of showcasing Peter's rather high intelligence. And not just be "making him a nerd" for the script. But the lock he has on his door is self made with an electric auto-lock. Peter himself designed that, he didn't BUY it. Then there's him MAKING his web shooters. That is a MUST for ANY spider-Man origin. It's also more realistic and comic accurate because there are times when his web fluid runs out and he's stuck having to improvise.
I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I think he is the best Spiderman (I'm not saying he has the best movie, that's different).

I know most people weren't that big on this film, but for me I honestly really enjoyed it. Even if the film does have a lot of problems, it still has many good things worth praising. Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are really great and have nice chemistry.
I don't notice any problems, so I don't know why people think it does. It's the perfect movie to me. Andrew is my favorite Spiderman ❤

i loved this Spiderman the story was so emotional and even i had tears like you two.
Andrew was a great Spiderman, if only his first suit didn't look so awful. His second suit looked way better.
One thing I have to admit about many of Spider-Man's more dangerous villains is that they are always the ones that have REALLY HUGE ambitions before the world breaks them down and smashes them into desperation. Octavius wanted to create a new advancements in Prosthetists, Norma I feel like he just wanted to be powerful (but that could just be ME) Connors wanted to cure human genetic weaknesses. Forget what I said actually. These are only THREE of Spider-man's MANY enemies. lol. And in all honesty Lizard isn't THAT high on the list. Not when there's Octavius, Green Goblin, Venom, Carnage, The rest of the Sinister Six, Occasionally Dr. Doom (rarely).
Peter's high-school life could've been more convincing if it hasn't been portrayed in such a mean-spirited way
Most of the students were portrayed as being successful in more ways than he is, and bully him just to make us feel sorry for him, because "everything will work out for him in the end"
I mean, no teacher or adult was around when everyone was gathered to see Flash torturing that kid or beat up Peter, and they only show up to punish Peter
Usually, a mean-spirited story is the result of lazy writing
And this movie had solid writers

My life was so different when my friends and I got together to watch this movie in theatres on the big screen while we were in junior year in high school. Also, I love how you both have the Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy plushie dolls.

The Spider-Man movies all worked wonderfully for their times. The original trilogy made waves back in the early 2000s, Andrew's movies fit perfectly the 2012-2014 times and Tom's movies captured the hearts of the later generations. Out of the 3 of them, Andrew's version is definitely the most charming and this Peter Parker's chemistry with Gwen Stacy was probably the best, outdoing both Tobey and Tom's.
It's refreshing, seeing a more modern take on uncle Ben and aunt May, the cute interactions between them, seeing how they care for Peter. Uncle Ben's death felt more "real" this time, the consequence of Peter's inaction, the douche shop clerk, the cool robber actually helping Peter out and then everything goes so wrong for our soon to be hero. Flash actually trying to console him was a beautiful moment and it showed us just how much Peter was hurting.
It feels really satisfying seeing him create his own web shooters, experimenting with his powers, his attempts to catch his uncle's killer.
You're right, Magy, his sarcastic way of talking is on point, can't help yourself but laugh at the clever jokes.
Peter made a fantastic first impression on Gwen's family 😂
That was definitely one of the best ways to reveal his secret to Gwen and her line after "Oh I'm in trouble" worked perfectly 😂
Dr. Connors made for an awesome villain, showing us once more that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. That's one of the things that makes for a great villain in movies or series: they rarely start out with bad intentions but through their actions and stubborness, they end up in a bad place.
It's so satisfying, Peter saved that man's kid back on the bridge and towards the end, this payed off, the crane operators offering him a straight way to the Oscorp building.
The way Gwen got rid of her dad was hilarious, poor guy was so quick to dissapear 😂
Captain Stacy listening to Peter was surprising, usually the movie trope demands that he authorities never listen to the outcast.
That fight scene between Dr. Connors and Peter at school was epic and the little Stan Lee cameo was so hilarious. It's always heartwarming to see the old man appear in these movies.
It's sad seeing how fast Peter bonded with captain Stacy only for him to die at the end, it makes you wonder how they could've worked as a team or rather how captain Stacy would've acted as a liason between Peter and the police department. In the end, he kept his promise to Gwen, he made sure Peter was ok.
It was the perfect ending to the Lizard, saving Peter's life one more time, at the very end, with his remaining hand.
Captain Stacy knew exactly what he was doing when he asked Peter to promise him that one last thing, realizing that Spider-Man would inevitably make a lot of enemies who could try to reach him through his loved ones. In Peter's defense, he tried for a while to keep that promise even if in the end love actually triumphed and they reunited. Gwen actually figuring out that her dad made him promise to stay away from her was another clever spin on the usual "Oh he doesn't love me anymore" assumption.
Uncle Ben's message to Peter being one of the last scenes in the movie was just perfect, after that we see him and Flash actually growing closer and the confirmation that he's back together with Gwen.

Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone began dating as a couple around that time. That's why you feel the chemistry between them, since it was real and they broke up shortly after the second movie.
I think Tobey Maguire was a better Peter Parker, but Andrew Garfield was a better Spider-Man, and Tom Holland was a better mix of both parts of the character(s).

Spiderman is one of those characters who, by definition, is fairly young. This makes him a character that _male_ performers can age out of _fairly early._
When Tobey Maguire was cast to play the title character in _Spider-Man,_ in 2002, he was still fairly young. And he carried the character through two _more_ movies. But then, in 2012, he was too old. Ten years and he was too _old._
They gave the part to Andrew Garfield who has since, carried the part through three _move_ movies. That was 2012 to 2021.
Then, in 2017, they rebooted the series _again,_ because Andrew _Garfield_ was too old. This time, the title character was played by Tom _Holland._ So far, _he_ has carried the character through three movies, but I predict it won't be long before he, _too,_ is too old.

My favorite Spider-Man movie and I have the most perfect version of this one, lots of beautiful memories appeared！
I know that a lot of people have seen this as the worst Spider Man. However, I actually enjoyed it a lot. The movie held deep messages, and I like how Flash actually had a good heart. I liked Andrew Garfield's performance, especially as Peter Parker. The only part that annoyed me was that sometimes some situations were kind of weird like the basketball scene with Flash, but it wasn't enough to lower my perception and overall rating of the movie. The little bits comedy were great too. I seriously loved the part where Peter came back from the battle with Lizard and he gave his aunt some eggs, then he Aunt May hugged. So whatever anyone else says, I think watching this movie is worth it!
