  • THE HOLLEY HI RAM GETS ALL THE GLORY, BUT WHAT ABOUT THE MID RISE? DOES IT MAKE MORE LOW-SPEED TORQUE THAN THE HI RAM? DOES IT MAKE MORE POWER THAN A LOW RAM? THE ANSWER IS...IT DEPENDS ON THE CONFIGURATION YOU RUN!

It would be nice if we actually got a measurement of the runner lengths for comparisons. I'm sure a lot of us don't know how long the short or long runners actually are.

I'm building a 376ci lq4 block is concreted (race only application) 4340 3.622 k1 crank. bored 4.065 with 2cc dome 2618 pistons. 4340 I beam rode w/ arp 2000 rod bolts and main studs. Running ported ls3 heads with 61cc combustion chambers. Cam motion solid roller 247/263 680/650 111+2.5. Johnson axle oiling tie bar lifters. Super vic 4150 intake with 4150-4500 tapers hvh spacer, 1050cfm dominator carb. 2in primary to 3.5in x pipe. What power do you expect. And at what rpm. But my main question is. How would I go about installing a msd crank trigger setup on a gen 3 block? Is there a way to convert it to gen 4 front cover while retaining knock sensors in valley?? Thanks in advance

LQ4 block will be much weaker at 4.065 bore, the 4500 Super Victor intake makes more power (see ls3 intake test video) why would you want an MSD Crank Trigger when the motor already has both cam and crank sensors?

@richardholdener1727 it's just a n/a build on e85. I've got both intakes. And have an adapter for the 4150 intake. Block has been concreted to help strength the cylinder walls being bore .065 over. I'm trying to run a vacuum pump on the engine. And a external scavenge pump, figured if I'm going that route I'd swap it over to a msd crank trigger setup. If it's not needed that's fine.

If that manifold didn't have crossovers, so it was effectively independent throttle body, I'd want it. Not the I can currently fathom buying one.

I suppose that's nothing some carefully installed sleeves couldn't fix. Then the 8 small ports for MAP sensor, or MAF only tune with no MAP. EDIT: well, classic dual plain stuff... that'd probably be a bitch. Apparently $800 anyway... jesus.
