    I love that you have to do the “Dance of Loyalty”…. I grew up in a Ford family, high school shop and working in the small town garage opened my eyes to the Generals Mouse and Rat motors, cost, power per dollar. Grandpa about crapped when I came home with a “55” Chevy truck that I bought for 100$ that I sold the “1950” Ford truck that I sold for 50$ to use the money to buy. I hope he’ll forgive my by the time we meet again in “Hot Rod Heaven”……thanks for sharing your knowledge!

    They claim the LS is Junk but then say Ford made the LS. So which is it. If you're defending Ford why'd they make the "Junk" LS?

    Is the Coyote a copy of the LS then since they use a skirted block like the LS? To be frank every pushrod motor made shares features and every mod motor made share features. Who cares?? Enjoy the power!!!

      Nope its from the 4.6 ford that came out in 1991 it already had a skirted block. Just like anything in the auto industry if its good its copied. Your right though. Who cares?? Enjoy the power.

    I'm a chevy guy, have been since birth because my dad was Chevy only. But I am a big fan of the 351W EFI not so much the 5.0. Also I'm not big fan of LS, yes I know there's 100's of millions of LS in junkyards to pick from. But I'm against the grain, different than the masses. I like my SBC & BBC. Not saying I won't ever build a LS, I just gotta be different. I'd rather build a 351 W or C, or a BB Mopar

    I'll also add, in reference to torque not hp. I've had 351W EFI shorted and 4 8 and 5.3 shortbed LS. The 4.8 wasn't even in competition and honestly the 351W felt like it pulled harder than the 5 3 LS I had. All stock except the 351 I had free flowing dual exhaust, reduced % drive on belts 50%. I'm sure the LS made more hp but the Ford felt like it pulled harder and this is from a die hard Chevy guy. I gotta give props. Also my cousin had multiple Mach 1 Mustangs 351C and ALL of the ones he had rocked. Felt better than any LS I've ever been in. Again from a die hard Checy guy.....

  • @rancherlee
    @rancherlee 2 дні тому +1

    With comparable heads, on mildish builds, it's close. Things get sketchy in the 700+ hp range OR high rpm builds for the 351w as the main caps start to walk around on stock Windsor blocks. And there is the hang up, an aftermarket block and aftermarket heads add $$$$ to a higher HP Windsor build. The 3" crank journal doesn't help the 351w either. I'm building a 393w for my Torino, the plan is run a stock block, ,Promaxx heads, roller cam for around 6000 rpm peak, and use my old Vortech T-trim to boost my way to 10 seconds flat. I know I'm going to have to pull the pan occasionally to check the caps.

    The LS is an exact aluminum copy of the Ford Windsor (minus the blue paint) On an LS all you have to do is pop out the Welch plug in the front and a Ford distributor pops right in, just remember to use the Ford oil pump drive shaft and yes the Ford oil pump actually bolts right up to the LS block! You just have to tap the bolt hole to mount it, GM switched to a different style oil pump but the original Ford holes are still there as the LS block is literally a copy of the Ford Windsor 💯
