The last half of eternal darkness is my favourite part, and one of the best parts ever written. So majestic and powerful, and the lyrics are fantastic !

Some information about this song: Jari's father died during autumn time so this is his most personal production yet. Also the autumn time is very dark in Finland. The story of the song is about death himself and how he sees life as a mistake in perfection. Very very nice reaction once again, I enjoyed it a lot! The drums are actually programed in this album by Jari himself but they will perform this song also live with a real drummer. Their regular drummer Kai "the machine" Hahto is recovering from an injury so they are using Timo Häkkinen in live shows for time being.
Jari himself considers the lyrics of this song as his strongest and best writing yet. He is a big black metal fan and this is his "black metal beast"
Kai Hahto said that this is the most badass black metal song he has heard :) I tend to agree although I listen to black metal a lot and I love that stuff.
I love old school black metal as well as modern, but thanks to the awesome crowdfunding package, which gave the funders isolated tracks of the songs, we are able to remix the songs pretty much however we like and I thought if it was possible to remix this song into an old school black metal song and oh boy did it work! By removing the bass and orchestrations and increasing the volume of both the rhythmic and melodic guitars and decreasing the volume of the drums I was able to create an authentic old school black metal sound for this song and it sounds awesome, although I say it so myself. You can find it in my channel.
The craziest part is that the band themselves don't consider that song to be the best song of the album so it's just insane to think what greatness awaits in Time II. Anyways "The Way of the Fire" certainly got people incredibly hyped about the album.
Patralgan wow! Very interesting information. Thank you so much for that. It's so amazing...you can just feel jari's emotion in all of these songs! He pours his mind heart and soul into this and it's absolutely wonderful. I just hope that he's recovered from his loss because this song in particular you can tell he was in a pretty dark place.
Also, never would have guessed that these were programmed drums! They're still very good nonetheless. I wonder why they didn't hire a session drummer or something?
because basically this is a 0$ budget album, all done by jari himself at home. except for the choirs in spring and summer, they were recorded in sonic pump studio. everything else is coming from jaris apartment and laptop.
A little throwback for me to watch this video again today. Having listened to this song a lot lately, it's becoming my favorite Wintersun song ever. It's so unbelievably menacing and intimidating. I love black metal, but I feel that this song has almost destroyed the genre for me since it's leaps and bounds above the most black metal stuff I've heard. It's hard to top this one but I hope Jari will make more black metal music.

Ending of this song is very powerfull in live gigs. Lights go out and voices disappear.
They just performed this song in Summer Breeze festival yesterday and I was shocked how amazing the performance was. The dark lighting and Jari's vocal performance were incredible. The whole thing is in youtube already. You might want to check it out.

I'm so sad that Jari didn't let Hahto to play drums in this album, he's one of the best drummers in the world. Programmed drums sound so monotonic and dull. Overall this album is little bit lackluster compared to previous Wintersun productions. There's just too much repetition and not much hooks or exciting stuff that would make you wanna listen it over and over again. I'm just hoping Time 2 will be worth all the waiting, it will make this album look bad i'm 100% positive.
1 month later, but, Hahto was injured, still is I think, so he couldn't, otherwise you bet he would be the one playing.

First of all I would like to apologize about my rusty english, and say what a great video, i'm enjoying your videos so far, because of the details you point out while listening, is not a superficial reaction, and it makes the whole video so good, the fact that you see someone else enjoying something as much as you do is really pleasant. Awesome song, along with Loneliness this song have the best lyrics on the album. It's awesome how Jari know how to create an atmosphere, and he said that this song is his most personal song cause his father died in the autumn season.
And man, you need check out Shade Empire - Anti Life Saviour, this song have an amazing music video in my opinion and mix symphonic black metal with melodic death metal in an unique way. But whatever, really nice reaction, can't wait to you react to The Forest That Weeps

And thank you for sharing that info about the song ending abruptly to resemble the fact that death can come abruptly. SO powerful and emotional. You can really tell that jari poured his mind, heart and soul into this song. Especially with that guitar solo!
