as a holdover from the days when team damage was still in the game - if you "damage" a friendly, you lose the high caliber medal. there was 1 shot where he would have "damaged" a friendly - when the IS-4 drove in front of him.
High Caliber · Player must cause at least 1,000 HP damage and at least 20% of the total HP of enemy vehicles. · Player must not hit any allies with direct shots. That last one was the couse.
Makes for a big change that his remaining team supported his play and backed him up, rather than just sat around and watch the enemy team shoot his face off and kill him. I mean he did lose a big chunk of his HPs but that was down to the enemy TDs he was spotting and damaging, than his team just abandoning him.
@@SmallPotato2313 He did get several extra shots, rather than just dying. Getting extra shots, surviving and winning probably scored him much more than a potential draw or even loss.
@@fendelphi i think he would be able to score those potential several shots even without his aggressive push. This time it worked, but play like this even tho its very good for your team, can be very risky and not paying off
Great fight indeed! Too bad about the High Caliber award, that darned IS-4 poking its nose as you're taking that shot at that Super Conq was rotten luck. Anyway, GG!
@@fiiv3s more like the Internet connection got wonky when I posted the comment, and here's the result! Note to self: don't post comments while in the basement grocery section of the local mall!
His high caliber got invalidated because of the IS-4, remember he was going for a shot for the Super Conqueror crossing the river when the IS-4 poked out at the exact moment he took the shot. You lose out on the medal if you've shot an ally, whether intentional or not, at some point in the battle.
The fact that this tank is being played as a medium proves that there is no point in playing heavies any more due to the proliferation of premium ammo.
@6:22 Did you see the chat. Jingles? He said, " Nice Job IS-4" "the other one." LOL! Quality play by the Foch at the end. Amazed he lived too. Well done.
I cannot stop but think, how nice it is of people to actually play a game, I quite frankly couldn't be bothered to play, so as after thousands of hours of gameplay, something noteworthy comes up, only for a Salty Gnome Overlord can narrate the happenings in said game in best British English. Did I already say that I can watch this on a tiny screen that I carry around in my pocket? The future has really become quite something.😂
Hi Jingles, I think he didn't get top gun, because he hit his own IS-4 at the beginning of the game. You only get top gun, if you don't hit teammates. Looks like this IS-4 was really annoying in more than one way. ;-)
You calculate playing well with win rate tagged directly on your service record. High caliber he lost that when that well mannered IS 4 drove in front of him and he accidently shot him. Welcome to WOT nice videos Jingles thank you.
Nothing worse than utterly dominating the map and then losing in the end because WG provided a bunch of campers on the enemy team with way too many bushes to hide in at their base. Didn't take much for this game to be exactly that type of situation, which I am sure we have all experienced far too many times.
Actually Jingles (Edited to bc I HAD to add that) He didn't the High Caliber because when that IS 4 pulled in front of him and blocked his shot. Shooting an Ally still disqualifies you from getting the High Caliber medal despite not doing any damage.
TD scouting is a thing... especially when all cancercars have self destructed (as shown). I got patrol duty medals on a Hetzer, Stug and both the swedish cheese wedges... although not by yolo-ing straight at the enemy.
Super heavies as a spotter are great! Was grinding Vk 100 and got scout medal in Fjords :D... it is all down to keeping the 'W' down. And it wasn't even some suicidal play through the field there.
I went back and watched the EBR incident again... Our hero should have got an assist.. he was backing up, forcing the EBR to go to the left of him... Which made the EBR ricochet off the wall on the left, then plough himself into the IS-4 due to lack of reaction time caused by the high velocity at which he was travelling... EBR player should take up billiards, it was such a beautifully lined up canon off the side wall 😂😂😂
Would love if you could give medals out to your teammates. Maybe they didnt do much but the thing they did was worth 500 experience for being bloody brilliant. Like what this Foch did.
From WoT wiki: High Caliber Cause the most damage in a Random Battle. Player must cause at least 1,000 HP damage and at least 20% of the total HP of enemy vehicles. Player must not hit any allies with direct shots. Since he hit his ally at the beginning, no high caliber. :(
You can’t get height calibre if you make contact with a friendly tank. He must have scraped or bumped a friendly, unless the donk into the IS-4s turret
You can only get the high caliber if u do 20% of the enemy hit points in dmg AND you can't hit an ally. That IS-4 in the beginning of the match ate one of his shots, therefore negating him any chance of having the medal
I’ve been playing for so long that I have a feeling of how much u need to aim. Sometimes when ur so close to an enemy it’s more important to get safe than hitting the shot.
As everyone is pointing out he, unfortunately, hit a friendly tank early on in the match, even though ‘friendly fire’ is no longer a thing in the game it still affects the hi-calibre award.
A question for you or someone else to answer if possible....I have an xbox x 1tb...i play wot...however my maps ars no where near as good as this on or others ive seen played by others on here...why???
He shot the IS4 from his team and the game mechanics doesn't allow you to receive some awards if you had some friendly fires, even if the friendly damage was removed.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, i dont even remember this. Good trivia there mister.
Funny that he lost high caliber medal because is4 drove in front of him and robbed him of 700 dmg. Something feels very wrong here
Excellent knowledge, I didn't know that was a thing
How do you know this? i've been playing this game from nearly the begining and still don't know how it works .
My thoughts exactly. Good catch. 😉
High Caliber · Player must cause at least 1,000 HP damage and at least 20% of the total HP of enemy vehicles. · Player must not hit any allies with direct shots. That last one was the couse.

A really dumb rule ever since team damage was was removed. Back when team damage was a thing, it made sense, but not anymore.
Kudos to the Foch driver who really made the winning move, and the other teammates who made his play worth it.

Real Chad move from the Foch, modern “Leroy Jenkins” moment.
The winning team had 3 TIER X tanks left and a total of 164 health. Call that a razor's edge!
Nah, that was after OP receiving a shot of the Ho-Ri and after driving over him (which also damages yourself)
