My father had his shop in Anarkali bazar, one of the famous market of Lahore and had residence in Gakhar Mandi area as he told us 3 brothers when we were of age group between 15 and 20 ... Partition of India was a great setback and millions of people had to migrate from Pakistan to India... Now I am 72 and wish to visit to see my father and forefathers birth place in Pakistan atleast once in my life....
i wish your dream come true God bless you always
Ambar,Kudos for such a nostalgic stream. The panelists were fantastic with their views and emotions.
Ab in sab baato ka koi matlab nhi. New generation of Pakistan is deeply radicalised. These two gentlemen are rare among today’s Pakistan.
What about India ...we have to save our civilization
Lahore has grown a symbol of unrest with the name of Tehreek e Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).
Even Afghanistan was very modern before 70's.
Waseem saheb is a storehouse of knowledge, intellect, arts and history.
DAV school and college was in Lahore. Head office of Punjab National Bank was there. The North India famous News Paper The Tribune was there before partition.
Lyallpur Cotton Mills was owned by Lala Shri Ram (DCM Group). On partition, the mill was shifted to Delhi and began as Swatantra Bharat Mills. Dr Bharat Ram is son of Lala Shri Ram.
Lahore was Nalanda for North Indians. Students from Jind Riyasat also travelled to Lahore for higher studies. My father used to tell us. Nice discussion.❤
Rashid ji, Amber ji, and Wseem ji, your voice and enthusiasm in describing the greatness of Lahore is awesome. The name Lahore conjures up memories of a long ago, multi linguistic, multicultural, literate society that was the pride and show piece of United India. Lahore was the cultural capital of India. It was also a very beautiful city. Your descriptions of Lahore brings tears into our eyes and gives us goosebumps. If anyone wants to say anything about superlative about Lahore, then one should read these lines.
In 1905, the great Dr. Mohamed Iqbal, read the following lines from his poem in Lahore, which became the most loved and celebrated poem of Independent India. These are the lines:
''Sara Jahan se accha,
Hindustan hamara''.
What a wonderful discussion, we cannot stop listening to you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
SIR GANGARAM, THE UNFORGETTABLE.
My father was working in Punjab University Lahore. It was beautiful city before partition. Dominated by Hindus and Sikhs. All the business owners were either Hindus or Sikhs. But after partition Pakistani Muslims have ruined the Lahore. My father told us that it was one of fine and cultured city. All the people were living very peacefully.
My wife was born in Montegomery curren Sahibal just at time of partition. Luckily her family moved to India safely though lost every thing. They had to start life all over again. I still wonder what made my ancestors to move from Peshawar 50 years prior to partition.. Amber I myself have worked in Pakistan near Mohanjodro at time of Vajpayee's visit to Pakistan. It was nice work time and visiting the memory lane of my forefathers. Stayed in Lahore for 5 days in Alfarty hotel which carriers a long cultural history.
Again I must say, beautiful people , beautiful mind, Respect Salaam Namaste Shalom to hosts guests and viewers.
Ram Ram to all of you

Very interesting n informative
Enjoyed the interaction of two saintly people with Amber jee. I am now 75. My father-in- law studied in Lahore who had emotional memories of Lahore and my grandmother used to be emotionally memorizing her stay in mintgumri and one of my uncles was in army and used to tell about life of people of Peshawar. All the above members are dead now. Every person, every village, every city
every country has a history or the story of its past. We all come for a certain period of time and then we depart leaving every near and dear for ever. This is the story of each one of us. Let we all human beings realize the truth that we all are tourists on this planet and so let us bury element of hate among ourselves and live this life comfortably and peacefully and we pray for a time in future when Indians and Pakistanis visit each other’s country frequently just like countries of Europe without any fear.
Don't you wish for a reunion of all 3 countries: Pak, Bharat and B'desh ? After all, once upon time, it was all one homogenous unit, one country. The partition was man-made.
Dear Amber, thanks for inviting nice guests and choosing a nostalgic topic.
Nice to hear a good discussion by all panelists. Kudos!
Yaad Lahore ke manazir ki,
Is tarah zehan me ubharti hai
Jaise koyi haseen raqqasa

My family migrated from sind in 1947 l was born in India the present generation of sindhis have moved on nobody is interested in visiting sind few of my relatives visited sind in 1995 and were kidnapped by dacotics in rural areas of sind and had to pay ransom to get free all historical temples have been destroyed in sind so there is no emotional attachment for sindhis to visit sind and those who migrated in 1947 are no longer alive.
In 1947, My grandparents were lucky to escape from Islamic Pakistan

I was born and raised in walled city of lahore, After graduating from Punjab University in 1973, migrated to usa in 1974, Unfortunately, never went back to lahore after1980. I am told, it is changed so much, i will be lost if i go back.
I am ex-Muslim (since 2019) and i wouldn't want you to see Lahore of today as it has been heavily islamized. I want to escape TO UK ASAP.

Aaj bhi Itane intelligent log honeke bavjud bhi Lahore ka kasta haal hua hai ! Tajjub hai ! 🤔🤔🤔
Amber,
You laughed at Gama pehelwan crying at the border but you will understand the pain ( I don't know if you are married) as a female it is more than akin to the young bride who leaves her paternal home and surroundings where she was brought up. What the debate is not a joke for old Lahorions who lived then cherish those memories. Regardless of religion.
My father did his matriculation and bachelor's from Punjab University Lahore.
Wasim Altaf Sahebs face resembles that of Shaikh Mukhtar actor of Bollywood of yester years.
Hum logo ka dar is radical mindset se hain jo ek khusnuma vibrant cosmopolitan saher ko kya bana di
AMBER JI VERY GOOD START KEEP IT UP REGARDS PRADEEP SOGANI JAIPUR
The ancestors of Jinnah and Iqbal were Hindu. They became Muslim due to a painful procedure of circumcision. Similarly Lahore and entire Pakistan were circumcised.
Excellent super interaction ❤🇮🇳

Amber your such debate is great and hope it will add the knowledge of past in the minds of fanatics. It is unfortunate the fanatics of Indian sub-continent associate them selves with Arabs or Turks.
Lahore angrejo ne Pakistan ko isliye de diya kyoki Pakistan ke pas koi bara shahar nahi tha batware ke samay ye badkishmti thi Lahore ki.
In England, people say,
“Cream rises to the Top “
Amber I wish you started this dialogue with Lahore city established from Lord Ram's elder son Lov and Kasoor the name from younger son "Kush". Both cities are near to each other. The mention of this rich past of Lahore would have added extra flavour to your dialogue. I wonder if Mr Altaf and Rasheed Khan know this bit of Lahor's past.
Hindu dharm santan hai sabhi ko manten hai. Sabhi dharm mein apna jesa pyar dundta hai.
Lahore was established by Lav, son of Lord Ram.
