DONT LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE THAT SAY REGULAR the box space is a bit too little regular cuz if u think about it it’s 6 12s so if u mount them regular it takes up a lot of space in the cabinet and mounting them inverted will make it way louder for spl and tuning and the 4 stacked magnets look 🔥🔥🔥 and you can see the red on the surround the motor looks better than the cone and surround in my opinion
Parker my brother! lovin the new box and subs, great job! wish I could be there to give a hand. As fare as inverted for me I like regular, but ultimately it comes down to air space, If you know the woofers sound better with more air then invert, but to know for sure your going to have to mount, brake in, then flip, to know. Praying for you, God bless!
Any way you decide to go Parker, is gonna be great. I love how thought out you're doing everything, some people don't quite understand the perfection car audio demands. Keep up the great work bud, you're gonna be one of the greats in my book!
Im a fan of regular mount for those subs, the surround and cone look pretty clean. With so many subs like that you can be hypnotized by all the cones moving at once.
Birch Bro, and wood glue in between panels, nothin worse than the sound of the wood slappin itself. Makes it more solid, project farm tests wood glues, elmers is pretty good
Mount half subs inverted half regular just wire the ones mounted reverse different then the ones mounted regular and don't forget a dark wood cherry stain it would look so good your box parker impressed me I love it makes me want to build a bigger box o if you do mount them make the middle row opposite then the 2 outside rows to give it a better look. Mount first sub on the top and bottom row regular the next one in those rows inverted the last one on the top and bottom row mount regular. Now for the middle row first sub invert next sub in the middle mount regular and for the last sub in the middle row invert trust me it will look epic love your setup keep up the good work Parker😀
3 8” aero ports in 15 cubes needs 25.5 “ per port length to tune to 29 Hz.. Big ass ports adjustable is 22” but everyone I had was 21.5”. The 8” BAP ID is 7.9 .. You can tune to 32 HZ w/ 3 8” 21” long ports in 15cubes.. 31 HZ needs 22.7” per port, 30Hz needs 24.57” .. this is in 15 cubes. In 15.5 cubes u can tune to 31 w/ 21.8” length for each port. I suggest making a port support , a half circle the port rests in inside the box for less port turbulence
I like the invert just for the red sections of the cone. But the regular mounted looks nice to. If it helps get more air space and drop the tuning for even nastier lows then definitely inverted. But i would paint the box black just to help make that red on the cone pop !
you should try both ways before the show and use your decibel meter to find out which way sounds best and mount them in that Manner and what kind of meter do you use to measure your amps output
Invert one in the middle rear to give the aspect of both worlds great vid thumbs up been here since the beginning hats off to you keep progressing im happy for you peter parker "speaker man" lol
I'm really hoping that you put the ports facing backwards towards the hatch. This is the best possible box design besides a complete wall and the ports facing backwards is the best way. Great build my man
Def dont skip out on the bracing. Despite the double baffles it will most certainly benefit from the added internal supports. When you add bracing think of it like this... 2×4 will support the wood at those points but when bracing you want the supports to touch 3 sides to correctly support the box. So good rule of thumb is brace every 12 inches. I would suggest window bracing with an x in the middle rather than +. Otherwise nice clean box! Good luck!
I just put four Sundown SA12-D2s and an Orion HCCA 3k watt cheater amp in my Accord and they hit pretty good. Originally I built one big speaker box for my trunk with all four subs in it, but I've never built a box to fit in a trunk, so I screwed up my math a little (because I measured from the bottom of the trunk and it slopes up in the front due to the back seat) so I had to take 6" out of the middle of the box. In the end it with just easier to cut the box in half long ways, put a wall in both sides, and bolt them together. I have to take it back out to install my Aeroports and I'd like to carpet them.
Beautiful beefy surrounds, the surround looks like the JL w7 super expensive ones. Mount them normal so we can see that beautiful surround and cone excursion!! :)
Parker, I Was Just Letting You Know That When Painting Most Any Smooth PVC Plastic, It's A Good Idea To Lightly Scuff The Parts Of It, That Is Going To Be Painted Because The Flexibility Of It Will Allow Paint To Release Over A Little Time And The Paint Will Air Bubble And Flake Off... I've Had It To Happen With Ports Before And Get Worried About Any Paint Flakes Getting In The The Sub Motor Pole Venting And Causing Damage. I Now Use A 320 Grit Or $ Even A 500 Grit Sand Paper And Just Scuff The Plastic Enough To Create A Bond And I Use A Good Primer For Use On Plastics Also With 2 Coats And Then 2 Or 3 Coats Of Whatever Color Paint I'm Using,,, It Seems To Help The Paint Bonding Much Better During The Winter Time For Flexing
If you have your heart set of having them mounted inverted, you can mount two of them inverted and the other 4 normally mounted or vise versa. Either way that's a hell of a box brother.
Regular I think looks much better, been waiting all week for this! I really wanted come down tot he show but its on the same day I am going out town for drag racing..( Good luck!!
Nice box Parker. Looking sick so far. I wish I was closer to the show when it happens, but driving 12 hours each way would be a little too much. Ind love to get a demo in that beast. Can't wait to see what it meters full tilt. I'm thinking you will hit a solid 152 or so. Let get it!

It looks better with the subs mounted regular. But inverted gets you better cooling for demo builds and you'll gain all that airspace. I'd choose function over looks.
Invert those subs alittle deeper bass plus the magnet cools off better keep your subs efficient so invert save your subs from over heating quicker than normal especially if you pounding for SPL good luck
Hey what's up Parker. I need your help.... I got 4 of the suds you have in 15inch.. and need to build a box for them. What would be the formula??? Thanks and I have a Yukon truck
Should be fun moving it into the suv =) Looks good mate, great work, hope it sounds wonderful! edit - Definitely think normal mount and add several braces, with that amp and those subs you will need it!
Hey man what wood did you use? Looked like just normal ply? Also what thickness was it? I live in New Zealand so can’t get birch cheap but wanted to know what yours was made from ☺️
inverted, much easier wiring. also, added cubic feet would tune it lower and slam my friend. you can always change it later easier then placing them normal first. maybe you can do a spl test video later on this subject
So I know how the physics work but I was always told from the old school installers that multiple subs sharing the same air will increase the output but you run the risk of blowing or damaging all subs when one fails due to the instant change in total air volume. Will the b.a.p ports work well in a sq application or are they mainly for spl ?
Nice box build. All tho think I'd gone 6th order build or 4th if you don't care about musicals and only going for burp. Subs amps power just tools everything is the build I'm a musical guy so I say 6th order. Great video as always 👍
