- Clickers can be a confusing piece of equipment. In this video I cover the main differences between each type with pros and cons to help you pick the right clicker for you to use on your recurve style bow.

I love the sight-mounted clicker for all the reasons you mentioned, but also, because it paid for itself in saving me from one mistake. The first set of X10's I bought, I ordered to my usual length but cheaped out and got the stainless steel points instead of tungsten. I didn't realise how much longer those are at the time, but consequently my arrows were about a centimetre too long. Sure, I could have cut them down but then you have the worry of tune and spine etc. Having the flexibility from the sight mounted clicker meant I just nudged it up a cm and I was good to go again. Great invention, and my thanks for it!
Thanks, I just used the link and got the AEE Micro.
Thanks for designing my clicker, did not know that :)
I had a magnetic flipper before but besides the play it had another major disadvantage: It would fly away outside when the wind was coming from the sight side causing my arrows to fall off my shibuya arrow rest....
Hey Jake. I am absolutely loving these 101 equipment videos. Being given a run down of each sort of equipment is a great way to help me narrow down the choices when I'm debating trying something new.
Keep up the good work, thanks heaps from Australia (ps. Cant wait to get your books)
On the micro-adjust one. Maybe the last thread or so in the female end attached to the metal arm can be nylon, like a nylock nut, to eliminate the slack. Just a little less nylon than what they put in nylocks just so it's not so hard to turn by finger.
Hi Jake. I use the Gold AEE for long and fat arrows (line cut) in indoor competition. I recomend it. The magnet one is a litle bit slower in reaction. (I can't wait for my signed book... :) ).
I like the video. Can you do a quick one on string driven clicker? I like to shoot recurve barebow style for fun at home. But since I’m new and still learning a clicker should help me repeat my draw to anchor point. Thanks.
I second your request for a string mounted clicker review!
Really good video Jake .
One additional fact I would mention when using sight mounted clicker: you have to use the same length of extension bar, so no way to bring the sight further in for long distances if you run out of sightbar adjustment. Used the aae gold blade style one when I began with archery 2018 and had longer arrows. Was way better than the magnetic one I had borrowed before.
For microadjustable clicker: I use one from tec-hro which I believe has no backlash. The backlash was the reason I decided against the aae one.
I use the A&E blade clicker - it is superb .. no problem to pull the sight in .. just mark the extension bar with the various positions for each distance. Then when you change distance say FITA1440 all you do is move the clicker it takes 10 seconds - loads of time whilst they move the bosses ...
i know I'm 2 years late asking this question, but: how do I get an arrow under the AAE Gold Ex'd clicker's blade? Would I need to lift the blade manually?
Also: with the riser mounted blade clicker - would I need to install anything else to the riser for the blade to "smack" to actually click?
I was going to buy the AAE micro adjustable one on your recommendation Jake, I gave it a try at the store but it was of no use as there's nothing on the mount for it to strike, it just swings silently.
I stopped using a blade clicker since they continuously shaved my vanes and once a sliver was loose it tended to pull the clicker forward.
Hi Jake, sorry, didn't quite get how the micro adjustable clicker mounts on the riser?
It mounts underneath the sight block, so you would take off your sight mounting block, then put this on, then the put mounting block on top of it, then screw it in
Never used clicker may start for recurve
My AAE gold micro mounting plate keeps moving or getting loose after awhile. Sight bolts keeps getting loose no matter how tight i do it. Tried Supa glue-ing the base plate against the sight mount and the sight mount bolts but still didn't hold up that long. 😞. Anyone had the same experience?
Jake, I saw this video and got an AAE gold micro clicker. It arrived with 2 parts, the plate, and the clicker. The written instructions are hard to follow and the picture does not help. Sitting here for over a week now not knowing how to mount it. It also arrived with no additional screws. Could you please add a video to mount this clicker. Thanks a bunch!
You mount it on your sight mount and layer it with your sight.
@@therepublication5219 Thank you! But a video would help better

Left handled riser use same clicker with right handled?
Some are universal, some aren't.
hi there do you have a left = handed clicker from aae gold cliker??
Yes there is lefty options.
How does a guy get in touch with you. Ive tried to no avail
Do you know of a clicker for hunting?
The click sound might startle the game. Not sure you want one out in the field.
I didn't know there is archery equipment in amazon
Is the sight mounted clicker available in a LH version?
It fits both right and left handed setups. Only difference is the logo will be facing the other way.
