After watching about 7 vids where the title said how to re badge your car just to find out that they all showed you how to do it with a brand new after market badge that had a perfect layer of adhesive on the back.. I was strictly interested on how you re install these damn things so finally I found why was looking for . Thank you sir 🙏🏻
@@poppinfresh5261 automotive double sided tape. It's very strong and easily removed with fishing line. I've had my emblems on with double sided tape for years no issues.
@@Trenscendent I love how people think weatherstripping and gasket adhesive would work well to mount emblems that obviously were mounted with mounting tape. Then making the claim it can be used to remount emblems on fresh paint. Adhesive with solvents in it on fresh paint… smeared on haphazardly. I guess they’ll find out the adhesive doesn’t stay that flexible when it dries and an emblem will easily pop off a body panel taking some fresh paint with it. I try to cut mounting tape in a way which minimizes dirt getting behind the emblem.
Thanks for the recommendation. This looks like what I'm after. I was considering the 3M press in place transfer adhesive which looks like a nightmare to use. This product looks much better and I won't have to clean it up around the edges. Tip - use dental floss with a hair dryer. I wouldn't trust a spatula to not scratch the paint.
@@froglobster I used 20lb fishing line yesterday to get my camaro shields off left and right sides. Line broke 2-3 times per shield so recommend 40 or 50lb line for stronger pull. I seen silver on the tape from the emblem when you peeled it off. Must just been from the emblem already starting to peel off but still funny to see as youre saying that
TO MAKE IT DIFFICULT FOR THIEVES TO REMOVE THEM EASILY, I THINK I SHOULD COMPLETELY FILL IN THE ENTIRE THE EMBLEM. And a little cleaning before sticking them back on would help, If the repair is already being done, it costs nothing to get it right.
will that adhere if it has no pins? One of my emblems has no pins and the other just one pin. And will that work with metal emblems? I can't tell if you're emblem was plastic or some type of light metal
My car dropped a letter from the back emblem, and I could see some "resin" remnants. I thought it was "old and dried up double sided tape". Now, I guess it was that glue you used. I bought the 3M double sided trim automotive tape. I placed the letter on top of the tape, trimmed the excess with a razor, and gently placed it back in place. And it worked. However, now one letter is slightly higher than the other one. The thing that I noticed was how the original glue seemed to "dissolve" the cars surface, and I was afraid to pry out the other one to make them even. I might do it. Later. Or if the car drops the taped letter, I will replace the whole thing. But I have faith in the double sided tape. I used to work in a warehouse and some of the trailers came with this "plates" glued on to the walls of the truck to tighten an tie up everything from falling via a "ribbon and crank tying system" that was held together by 3M double sided tape.
Racist or honest? Cuz you will blast out your ear drums. Besides, gun community likes guns and actually knows about them, not just glorifying them because criminals use em. Go ahead and let me know a singular genre of music that isn’t stereotypically black, GUARANTEE you none of em are talking bout doing drugs and killing their neighbors cuz they on the wrong side of the street. So yeah, y’all do crack me up. And no it’s not racist, it’s an honest point of view supported by fact.
Bro wtf are you even talking about? Like i know what you are talking about but I think you commented on the wrong video 😂 this is just a tutorial on how to put an emblem on a car
@@LxneStxner I honestly don’t know lmao. I have a lot of idiot gun people on my UA-cam shorts, so probably was supposed to be on one of those…no fuckn idea how the comment got here tho 😂 I’ve literally never searched anything close to this, not an automotive bone in my body lmao. Shits funny tho fr

Thank you sir!!! Best info on this yet! Thank you for explaining pegs too. Im new to fixing cars. Big thumbs up!
Excellent video. I like the 3M weatherstrip adhesive idea.
Dont bother washing it or cleaning off the old tape from the badge. Wouldn't want it to stick or anything.
Thank you very much! I just ordered a new badge for my Ford Fusion. I will definitely be using this video as a guide!!

Can I just use gasket maker?
What about JB Weld plastic epoxy?
This can work for front grill emblems too right ??
Does this adhesive harden up and last?
How long after applying can I drive.
Does anyone know if this stuff works well in high heat? I live in the Middle East with temps that hover around 100-120 degrees Fahrenheit
I wonder if E6000 would work, that stuff holds just about anything!
will that adhere if it has no pins? One of my emblems has no pins and the other just one pin. And will that work with metal emblems? I can't tell if you're emblem was plastic or some type of light metal
So where can I buy that glue? Auto zone??
is that okay re-instal emblem with 3M Nitril /1099 ?
What year is your pick up? I have a 1977 Cheyenne 3/4 ton.
1988, they don’t build them like that anymore

Question, how to you remove that black silicone if it gets on the paint and you didn't notice?
goo gone
honda camry here I come
"nice and flat" just like my wife
I'm not 100% but at 2:20 of the video it looks like some crome attached to the plastic came off and is stuck to the tape.

What's the mame of the adhesive?
