Raw sells and values are all over the place so probably to difficult for him to find an accurate value. Best bet is look at Beckett book values and cut it in half and go down from there based on condition. Low grade values that are actually graded are easy to find on PSA web site

I have the 71 Clemente, it’s nicely centered and nice corners but the black boarded has chips.....I saw on Google there’s a pic of one that graded a 10 thru PSA but if you zoom in the chipping seems worse then the one I have?
I have 1975 to 1985 complete sets that went from pack to binder and been in binder for about 35 years. Sending to get graded and yes ex mint sharp edges but the centering for some aren't the greatest
Don't mean to be a troll but that '71 Thurman Munson is not his rookie card, his rookie card is in the 1970 set. It's also hard to find in a psa 10. And you've got both of them on your list, still no 71 PSA 10's tho....

Wow I have more than just a few of the Cards on this list and really haven't haven't paid a whole lot of attention to them because they are all in old albums. I have a couple of old basketball albums that have cards from the Late 60s and 70sb. I know 1 of the albums with the baseball had a old tag from 1981 that for $5600. Matt you wouldn't believe the stuff that was in this this house boxed up and in plastic toats from a estate auction in Mazon il, I bought that didn't sell in the original auction. I paid $160 dollars for everything and it took me 2 days of loading up the all the toats, boxes and I still haven't gotten to open it all up and go through the stuff because I don't have the space or time.. but so far you name it I have it even books from the late 1800s . Looks to me someone passed away and it was all packed away and every since it didn't peak anyone's interest to take the time and go through it all ! I have a huge basement and I filled a 3rd of it with the stuff! Unbelievable

There are probably thousands of stories like mine, but I had every one of these cards when i was a kid. I can't blame anyone but myself, as I gave them to my younger cousins when I went to high school. And they weren’t even interested in baseball. Uuuuggghh. It still hurts to this day.
Playing baseball or watching baseball and baseball card collecting are two different hobbies/activities. It’s similar to paintings and painters. People like to collect/buy paintings but have zero interest in painting or even learning how to paint.

Great video. I wonder how many of these that sold were trimmed and altered as part of that PWCC/ PSA scandal they are investigating. I have to imagine that scandal, is going to raise suspicion on many of the gem mint 10s, thus hurting the value. Time will tell.
If it was going to hurt the value it would have happened already. My belief is that most collectors just don’t really care. That’s ones with the big money anyway. Why else would they continue to buy from PWCC and Probstein and continue making record sales?

James, I'm looking as well. My late FIL left my wife and I a massive collection only half sorted. Been breaking boxes of the unsorted stuff and found a treasure trove of 70's cards. His whole collection ran from the 70's to around '95/96.

All of Pete Rose cards through the years should be the ones to watch in the coming years. You know he will be put into the hall of fame one day. You can't keep him out with all he has accomplished in his baseball career. So if you get a chance, i would like to see where his cards are at know money wise. An where they will be in lets say 5 years from now. Especially if he gets inducted into the baseball hall of fame. Great video. 😁👍

Take a close look at the #1 Clemente card. Bottom 2 corners show specs of white on the corners and look at the bad centering, thinner on the bottom and right borders. Shouldn`t be any higher than an 8.5, or a stretch to be a 9.

I had a lot in the early 70s, Roberto Clemente, and others. Saw a game in 71 at three rivers. I had a lot but always tried to get all the Pirates but didn't. I think they were 10 Cents and had the Bubblegum, still remember that smell!
You should specify when a card is a last year card as well, the two I remember off the top of my head were the 76 Aaron and especially the 73 Clemente, otherwise great video

I bought a card collection from a guy on drugs. He sold me his grandfather's collection. The cards are all from the 70s, 80s and early 90s. A lot of rookie cards. Including Michael Jordan's college basketball card. Nascar put out 241 cards. I have all of them. Where do I go to have this looked at? There all in excellent condition. Some of them are in plastic sleeves. There are about 2500 plus cards from all sports.
First off, be very weary of anyone that jumps at the opportunity to look through these. There are some scammy guys out there. Secondly, if you want the most bang for your buck then you should sit down and look through them yourself. You bought the cards as an investment and it sounds like you got a good deal, lol however I do feel bad for the grandfather. Invest some time and learn what kind of treasure you scored. Decide which cards would be worth having grading and which should just be sold on eBay. That's what I would do. You have all the resources you need online.

Clay Moore yeah I found out that my centering is off as well. I didn’t realize that was why that card sold for so much. I assumed if you had the card in good condition it was worth money lol. Flip Lord I have that one too. It’s hard to find one with perfect centering. I would send it off and get it graded. My centering is off on mine
Clay Moore yeah I found out that my centering is off as well. I didn’t realize that was why that card sold for so much. I assumed if you had the card in good condition it was worth money lol. I have a lot to learn about baseball cards lmao 😂 thought I was going to have some retirement money to put into savings. Smh back to the drawing board
