thank you very much ! Very nice of you to say. I hope to have another vintage reveal coming in a couple months when i get my current order back from PSA.
New subscriber...love your overall enthusiasm! Happy for you with the PSA grading. As an aside, I've never submitted any card to a grading company. Do they reimburse you money for cards not graded?
That's why a lot of people use SGC for vintage cards cause they grade better when it comes to vintage cards.. and the ones that PSA didn't grade SGC would've.. No one really sends vintage to PSA for that reason and the tuxedo slabs look just better and eye appealing.. there's just certain cards you don't send to PSA I learned my lesson Last year.. all them PSA 6's and 7s with SGC it would be 7's or 8's and the PSA 9's would most likely get SGC 9.5 or SGC 10 and they sell for much more too when you grade vintage cards with SGC.. just a suggestion if u want to continue to get low grade keep using PSA its your collection not mine.. Good luck
PSA will grade some 10 cards as a 5 or 6 because they know you'll break it out and resubmit. In every 100 card order You'll usually see 2-4 cards like this. They get double the fee. Go ahead and break out the Bo and either resubmit to PSA to get your 10 or send it to Beckett for a possible pristine.
I really enjoyed your video. I have collected baseball cards (on & off) since the early 60's. Watching your video & your enthusiasm reminded me of my younger days. Very nice video.
I don't normally watch videos that are now long but your enthusiasm for the cards makes this video. I love it. As far as the cards go, you killed it on the 1956 cards which is amazing! But even the lesser value cards your enthusiasm for getting them graded shows you love of the hobby and I love that. Keep doing what you're doing.
@@dankelly5150 It's where PSA or other grading companies think that the card is a bit smaller than it should be. they can't find evidence that it was trimmed, so they just call it minimum size. Card cutting at the factory wasn't an exact science decades ago, so there are variations in size. I wish the grading companies weren't so tough on those.
i wish they did. i also wish if a card looks stunning but gets like a 3, that they at least would let people know what the main issue was with it. It's the one thing i liked about early Beckett holders - there were 4 sub grades so you could see what the main issue was.
i was happy. i have only a few PSA 10s in my collection. And ironically one of the other ones is an 82 TOPPS BRETT ! The Topps in a 10 is worth about triple what the Fleer 10 is. Fleer cards seemed to come out cleaner from the packs/factory than Topps.
Awesome reveals Phil!!! Your guesses were pretty darn close bud!!! Awesome cards! Cant believe that Schmidt! Lol gonna have to borrow some of your expertise in the coming few months....get better soon man!!
take the rejected ones from psa and send to sgc, i had 2 that were labeled as altered, sgc graded them as a 5(they were vintage) you will have better luck with sgc, i believe they are more accurate as well. PSA has just been very inconsistent lately.
ALTERED: Probably adding felt pen color to the edge (or spot) of the card where part of the printing scratched off revealing the white of the paper. Instead of altering the card, just have it graded as is. You'll still get an honest PSA 9 or 8 for it. But now the card's not-gradeable. Worse, the 1971s was also altered, (at the 7:38 minute mark) thus, raising a flag with the PSA reviewers in which they may suspect many of the cards have been altered. And may go back and re-look at the cards they just graded. OOPS. (HINT: Most 1971s do not have pristine black edges, but are mottled with white specks and damage. That actually confirms its authentic. To then have a perfect card with all black and sharp edges screams "altered").
All the 1969 and 1970 cards I received from my vintage card box were heritage! Bummer! Of all the other cards, half were decent and the other half were players I never heard of
Really suprising these high grades on 70s cards. I've been getting 5s and 6s all day long on those and they look like 9s to me. 9s almost impossible on anything from the 1970s. What was turaround? I'm going on six months.
It seems like a card that is a 9 that is indistinguishable from a 10 is o Lu that way because of individual people, and that has a fishy element to it that doesn’t sit very well with me. Like lets say my best buddy since 3rd grade gets a job as a PSA grader, and he is grading my cards? You think half of those 9s might fortuitously be 10s when I get my cards back? It really feels slippery around the 9s&10s, and the fact that there is SO MUCH money difference between a PSA 9 & 10, i or anyone would be an absolute fool to think that nothing underhanded is taking place within this culture. That much money brings the schemers. Perfect cards getting 9s is bullshit. I would guess if there is already a big population of 10s you are much less likely to get a 10 for that card even if it is.
Your sheer disappointment with the pack-pulled cards that didn't get graded is one reason why none of my collection are slabbed, why should I trust someone else's opinion. just saying.
This is the reason that PSA is not always right on the altered cards . They can come that way when they were manufactured from the card place. They were not trimmed the machine got off a little bit and cut the card a little short. Which should not be considered a altered card always make videos of your pack pulls that way you can prove them wrong.
I enjoyed the video! I'm curious how much you had to pay to get all these cards graded. I have mostly 1950's to 1960's baseball cards. I'm not too happy about paying a percentage of what the card is valued at. I would have to pay thousands without even knowing if I could sell them. Thanks for your time.!
this grading submission if I remember right was ($12?) each? in that ballpark. it's a flat fee to get each card graded unless the value approaches $1000 or $5000 levels. then the fees can be as much as $100 per card. if you have nice 50s and 60s, i'd recommend getting them graded. I like knowing what the graded actually is versus my eye/opinion. Some people say to only grade if you are going to sell. But I keep almost everything, and I like how grading preserves and protects the cards too, and allows me to display and handle them.
I’ve come up with a new saying based on how incapable and inconsistent PSA is these days: “PSA wouldn’t know an altered card if it gave them a paper cut on their balls” 😂😂😂 Anyways, awesome return with some fun vintage HOF’ers!
I’m looking at the off-centered ones that received sevens and I’m shaking my head. Two of my cards that were centered with perfect corners that are on their way back to me after a month received sixes! I’m just totally stumped. Sorry.
Too many Rushed new employee s psa screwed things up w blaming junk wax but they took the money knowing the end game ..I keep psa but Beckett my favorite I don’t do psa no more … crazy prices bad under overgradung sorry my opinion
is totally ok ! i know what you meant. I have 5's that i can't see a lot wrong with. it's an "opinion of the day" sometimes at the grading companies. One day a card is a 6, tomorrow it's a 7.

I'm only 11 minutes into watching, but just want to say IT'S COOL you spend a bit of time showing each card, I try to do that on my channel too! It gives the viewers a bit more time to appreciate each card, and the stories about the card and/or the player are always more interesting than other channels that blast through each card in like 2 seconds! 😅 Sucks about those rejected, "altered" or "minsize" labels. But I'd just send those to another grading company! 😃 That '83 Ryan is cleeeeeeeeeeeaaaannnn! Awesome card. Ok, unpausing now... 😀
The 1955 and 1956 Topps are by far the best looking baseball cards ever produced. Yes, the new cards are super shiny, and glossy, but the simple dual photo, on a color background was the bomb 💣 back then, and still my favorites.
Lol quit playin they give you a paper list, you're not a very good actor hahaha I saw a 5 it was a Larry Bird, Abdual Jabar, and Moses Malone and the 5 was absolutely beautiful sharp corners colorful, centered. The card had a slight line that printed on all of the cards so because of a tiny millameter thin jair on the bottom print line on all of them u can look them up on Ebay. That Don card is not 6 figures bud LOL right now you can buy a 1986 Fleer Michael Jordan Rookie Card for $10,000!
You do realize PSA doesn’t grade in increments of .5 right? That’s BGS that does that as you will NEVER get a grade from PSA with a 8.5 or 9.5 unless they completely overhaul their grading system fyi
It’s annoying having to listen to all these guys get cards back and they try to talk you into how great the cards are when they don’t come back with a predicted grade
Love seeing the older cards. Great video
Love your collection brother...nice

dont let the kickbacks get u down
Rose in an Expo uniform is also one of my favorite all time cards. Brings back memories. Great and fun video to watch. Keep 'em coming!
thank you very much ! his Fleer "4000 hits" card from (85?) also has his in an Expos uniform. I like that one too.
That Jim Bunning has fish eyes in the pink, is off center both top to bottom and left to right. PSA 6 is more than a fair grade.
PSA will grade some 10 cards as a 5 or 6 because they know you'll break it out and resubmit. In every 100 card order You'll usually see 2-4 cards like this. They get double the fee. PSA wins again!
More money in their account!
And a lot of people think they are not very good at what they do. Sorry for your loss.
That Ernie Banks is the best looking #1 grade I have ever seen! I’d put that in my PC for sure!
Loved your enthusiasm for your return. I like watching the vintage reveals.
thank you !

Nice cards I am putting together PSA graded whole sets in different years just taking my time buying every payday. Those are awesome
Beautiful PSA 1 1960 Topps Ernie Banks!
I know. a little lower than i hoped, but doesn't change how nice the card is to look at.
That jerry schoonmaker is a absolutely gorgeous card, i love that year ,such beautiful cards
Beautiful cards! Some head scratchers too of course. Its PSA
Love the enthusiasm dude! Keep it up
Topps 1982 George Brett "10" . Awesome.
Fun reveal man!
thank you !
Terrific video unveiling your slabs! Great result on the 1978 Topps Schmidt! Take care!
thank you !!
That was a fun reveal. Love your enthusiasm throughout the video. Take care and rest your voice for awhile. Chris
thank you, i appreciate that.
Outstanding video Phil!
Just a great bunch of cards.
thank you ! i'm still looking at them before i stash them in the safe/with the sets they will go to.
Love the 1983 Nolan Ryan. Your right it is a iconic Nolan Ryan Card.
Next time send a $100 starbucks card with the submission! ;)
Very nice rose 84
thank you !! love the unique look in the Expos uniform
You do realize that PSA doesn’t do half grades anymore I think on anything over 5
Great Fernando! Unbelievably, they messed up on that Schmidt with the wax stain unless they believed it was a 10 without it!
Jim Carrey 😢
Love 56 topps
That use of an exacto knife makes me die a little inside. There are hundreds of utility knives out there! Still love the content. :D
hahaha - i know. it's my do-all knife from doing stuff with model railroad trains 🚂
Outstanding cards and grades
The value is why we watch not to look at your collection of 8's
nice job on the Brett PSA 10! That's awesome to get that! I have never sent in and got a 10! So Cool!
thank you. yup it's hard to get a 10 on an older order. I think only 3 or 4 times have I gotten a card I sent in a PSA 10.
Why doesn't the grading company send you a letter explaining why those cards are altered or why they can't be graded?
i wish they did. i also wish if a card looks stunning but gets like a 3, that they at least would let people know what the main issue was with it. It's the one thing i liked about early Beckett holders - there were 4 sub grades so you could see what the main issue was.
PSA 10 on a '82 George Brett! Not bad at all!! 😎

21:20 with the speed they go through cards even the old ones, they may have had that grandstand line in their mind when putting the grade.
43:30 No reason that should deserve an 8, they must've just glanced at the back.
I hate when I get snow in my cards😊
Man I have it on 1.75x speed and it’s still so slow!
Congrats on some really awesome grades, the Burdette and Newcombe are really nice grades! So is the Fernando RC
thank you ! i'm shocked how i seem to be luckiest with 56's.
bad ass
If the '69 Bunning was only off-center, it would have come back a 7 or 8 or even a 9 (OC). They saw something more than centering.
Send the rejects to SGC
Send them to TAG those are AI graded with full report to show you why it got that specific grade. No human subjectiveness. No pop control
