- Short interview with Gene and Eric in "The Elder" period but in their Unmasked oudfits.
Notes:
- In the middle of recording "The Elder," Gene and Eric travelled to Austria for what would be their final appearance wearing the "Unmasked" costumes. Having already cut their hair, they had to wear wigs in order to appear somewhat as expected costumes and not give away any of the planned changes. They received the Golden Otto award for "Best Rock Band in the World" award from Rennbahn-Express and conducted an onstage interview at the Town Hall in Vienna at a multi-artist event for 13,000 music fans. Gene was reticent to discuss the new album other than commenting that fans would be in for all new surprises when the project was completed later that year. The visit was brief with the party (Gene, Eric, Bill, George Sewitt, John Harte and Laurie Greenan) arriving in Vienna on May 30th. With the promotion being held on the afternoon of the following day there was little time available to schedule other events though there was a meeting with Phonogram.

Once eric came in, kiss got really good musically, just threw out some really slamming metal jams, then that whole woman thing happened. But other than that they rocked.

Why wasn't the rest or the band with them?
Paul was probably recording tracks for The Elder and Ace was pretty much out of the band at this point. He wasn't doing much with them after the Australia tour sans a few TV and promo appearances.

gene and eric were as close as brothers up till the day eric died.all this bull about them treatin eric badly when he was sick is just that bull.
Gene and Paul have both publicly admitted out loud (I heard them say it on KKIX) they could’ve handled things better. But they sent him away so that he could get better--or so they genuinely believed would happen. They had no idea how bad it would be. “Your baby brother is dying, and there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING you can do to stop it and save him; all your power, money, status, and fame is USELESS!” Who wants to hear THAT? You can’t hate them for hoping against all odds (no matter HOW hopeless). And if they HADN’T sent Fox away, he wouldn’t have gotten the care he so desperately needed--and then we would’ve lost him that much SOONER!
@@shewolfsiren yes if he had been on the road with no access to medical help he would have died earlier but he was at a place where he was able to get help
@@marywise7661 Wish people would see THAT part, and not just the part about Fox not getting to have his last request, to end his days jamming with KISS. Not gonna lie, AM still miffed at Paul and Gene for that--but I DO get it, I DO understand the why! So I’m pretty sure dear little Fox would have, too, if he had lived like they were all hoping for
