and, it also started to rain.. everyone needs to remember that FF7R is resembling the rain for Zack.. it was raining when he died, it was raining when he survived and it also started to rain when Aerith felt something different.. then we immediately go to Zack.. so yeah, it's because of Zack in my opinion..

Ok, complete crazy talk on my part, but imagine... Cloud, Zack, and Sephiroth beating up Sephiroth Hear me out lmao. What if the big evil penultimate Planet Sephiroth that Max proposes here isn't actually going to preserve the planet but actually suck it dry until it's a husk? This Sephiroth may be so far gone, delusional, and think that he's "preserving the planet" when in reality, he's just destroying it. Perhaps he'd be challenged by another Sephiroth who can see what his doppelganger cannot. This would force him to team up with Cloud and Zack. Ultimately, if there is a way to preserve Sephiroth's evil jackassery while allowing him to feasibly team up with Cloud and Zack, I'm pretty sure the internet would explode. At least, Max would lmao
I could actually watch you gush about this game for twenty straight hours and still be on the edge of my seat. Your excitement is so contagious and you helped me enjoy the remake even more than I would have on my own.
Same in a way - played the game and liked it, but was VERY happy to watch all Max's playthroughs and of course all the theory stuff and conversations. I am consumed. And happy about it :D
Mo offence but this is a very sad kind of thing to say. You cannot enjoy things on your own? You need someone else to show you how to enjoy stuff? Honestly? Watching other people play and talk about it makes me enjoy less. I’m at my best enjoyment when I’m locked alone with a game and story to take it all in only I know how.
The Red herring is definitely the church ending in Intergrade. Zack is alive in a complete separate timeline but somehow both timelines will merge because of Sephiroth. The main enemy in all timelines is Sephiroth and somehow they all need to come together to fight him.
@@WhiteHawk77 I mean the immediate reaction is these people are in the church are there because of sector 7, it's not really that difficult to jump to that conclusion. They're definitely leaving bread crumbs either way
Consider this possibility: The convergence point is the Bizarro Sephiroth battle. Instead of switching between party members, you switch between timeline parties.
Now the question is how (Clouds) Aerith reacts to Zack? Elmyra mentioned she hates the mako eyes which implies she met a soldier but the question who if not Cloud?
Fuck are they even talking about, no they're not? They're no more drooped than they were in any other scene. If anything you could say its that there's a crushed spot in the middle of them, implying Cloud fell on them, ergo not a separate timeline, but its not really a precise enough a detail to make that claim one way or the other.
@@Madman6884 Totally agree. I have seen the scene so many times and they just look crushed not wilted? I mean I guess you can still take that as symbolism but damn some of these theories are GOING OFF lol
@@jessaramos2992 just ask yourself why would they show the flowers being crushed instead of wilted? It adds no significance to the scene by being crushed. They show the flowers for a reason. Just like the surprised expression on Zack's face when he walks in the church. They would not show Zack with that look unless it has something to do with Aerith. Hence her being dead in his timeline. Just think, why would they show Zack looking surprised because people in the church are mourning the Sector 7 plate falling? His story has nothing to do with that...
Here's something I remembered when I was about this to someone else online, and it's a bit of spoilers for Advent Children: Remember when Aerith mention that the church had a special "power" to Cloud explaining why the flowers were so resilient after he fell? Turns out that the church and the flowers are right above a flow of Lifestream, which is why they're still healthy even after Aerith is gone in Advent Children. Now with that in mind, think back to the ending of Intermission. Those flowers are in a worse shape than they ever are in the entire series before this. If that's the case, not only should we wonder about Aerith...but what's also going on with the Lifestream? With that all said now, I think I'm ready to see if any of this holds up once Part 2 arrives.
Damn this is what you expect from a BlazBlue fan, knows about Different world/Timeline shit. I myself would never caught the details about the Flowers if it werent for your comment.
Can we talk about Hojo? Original FF kept calling Cloud a failure but in the remake is super excited about his hypothesis. He has big IQ plays for the finally of all this
Don't forget that OG Hojo forgot that Cloud was a failed experiment until he told him. Hojo may remember Cloud but not that he wrote him off as a failure.
Yes thank you! I'm really curious about what that bastard is doing since he's so interested in Cloud now. And why IS that? Hm, he did get reminded of Cloud earlier on than in the OG, so maybe he just got some ideas from that. But what...
I think its great how the feelings we have towards Zack are identical to how they were when we first played FF7 Original, just pure confusion about why this guy keeps showing up and what purpose it serves
People giving the writers shit cuz obviously there's fear in new narrative. But everytime I go through it all I just feel the tidal wave of respect and love that Remake's writing has to the og material. The music, too.

Yeah there are a lot of good actors that put on a bad performance because there isn't much they can do to salvage it with the script and direction they are working with. The greatest ones can sometimes make it almost work, but best case they're carrying what is otherwise a crap production.
I don't think either scene is a red herring. The ending of the main game has the bag, and the ending of INTERmission has a church that is visually in a much better condition than the one we saw when we played through Sector 5. The church in the Zack cutscene, especially the outside, looked pristine instead of run down. The floor was in better shape in the Zack cutscene. Zack is for sure in a different timeline than the one we spent the main game in and the church helps support the bag. The question I keep coming back to is whether or not our crew returned to their timeline after the Singularity, or did they enter Zack's? Why would the planet give Aerith knowledge that Zack was alive at the end of the main game? HOW could the planet give her knowledge that Zack was alive, unless she was in that timeline? Unless the knowledge of the planet transcends and passes through timelines. Also, notice that at the end of the main game, it started raining when Aerith sensed Zack had passed by. And it started raining when the gang arrived at Kalm, with Aerith saying her stomach was in knots. The Zack cutscene followed. I dunno.
the singularity happened before they left the city, when they leave and they cross each other, they clearly aren't in the same "dimension/timeline/universe" or they'd react to each other, Aerith does seem to react to it, but that could just be her thing and the planet knowledge could itself be a singularity, so it'd be shared among all timelines, giving her that knowledge. I'm way more interested in knowing what happened with Aerith in Zack's timeline, I'm guessing that because the ghosts no longer exist, they no longer protect Aerith from the Turks to force the "right timeline" to happen, and at some point between Zack's Last Stand and the time he goes to the church(we don't really have a timeline for this, could be a day, could be a week, could be more...), they managed to capture her, or maybe even kill her by accident. Or maybe she just shows up from behind and pokes him in the shoulder and the people are crying for some other reason.
I respect what you're saying, but the one big element that you have to factor in to your thinking: Zack has a buster sword, and Cloud has a buster sword. The only way that's possible is in divergent realities / timelines.
@@Quetzalma My thing is that because Zack beating the Shinra soldiers would've happened a week or so prior to our crew getting through Shinra HQ and taking on Sephiroth, I've always perceived Aerith walking by Zack and Cloud as her learning that Zack is alive and passed through that same place at some point. So what I have to wonder is if knowledge like that can pass through the timelines and be learned regardless of where it occurred, or is our crew in the same timeline? I think that the people are in the church are refugees from sector 7.
@@TruckDrivinGamer Well that's why I wonder what timeline our crew entered after the Singularity. If they entered Zack's, then Cloud brought the Buster Sword from his timeline along with him.

or the gang walks by a stamp poster in kalm and it's a terrier (implying that basically stamp was changed when the arbiter was defeated, signaling the changes to the present) and are like "......was this dog always like this?"
I was thinking about this, because okay timeline convergence but the Cloud from "Zack's timeline" is alive and we don't know what two Clouds will do to the timeline ?????...
I've been thinking about the same thing for a while. I don't have any good theories since the new plot can go in so many different directions, but I think it's pretty safe to say that we won't have two clouds interacting with each other in part 2 or 3, despite zack carrying him back to midgar. Don't know how they'll explain it, but the concept of two clouds interacting with each other is so insane that surely there's no way it's going to happen, which eases my worrying mind.
@@tumei1851 Could also be that Cloud in Zaks timeline dies from the Mako poisoning so both Aerith and Cloud could be gone and this sets up Biggs and Jessie being his companions
@@tumei1851 in my opinion, a super powered Cloud that has no "Zacks Death" in his mind is a character ripe for exploration. Just off the top of my head I can imagine that character siding with Sephiroth
Yeah, maybe Nero killed Yuffie in Zack's timeline while Sonon got away, then if there's a timeline-convergence, Survivor-Yuffie and Survivor-Sonon get to meet and kill Nero together. Kind of an interesting 'Have your cake and eat it too' revenge-scenario where they'd get to fight Nero alongside the person they lost to Nero and want revenge on him for in the first place.
Well, the devs did say that FFVIIR will keep the same major story points as the OG. The situation might be different or how it happens may be different but they said the big stuff that makes FFVII the game that it is will remain the same. So that means Aerith and Zack still gotta meet each other in the Lifestream eventually. :-(
My gut feeling tells me that Cloud will be the one to kill Aerith, Zack will witness it and battle the party, gets defeated and morphs to Jenova-LIFE. To twist the knife further, there will be a Jenova battle down further that will feature an assimilated "dead" Aerith.
that ending either means two things 1. Zack went straight to the church after dropping off Cloud in midgar, meaning that scene takes place weeks before the first bombing run in his timeline 2. Zack got to Midgar but because of time issues he's somehow there in his own timeline after the plate fell as we saw at the end of the game he and an unconcious cloud passed the group leaving midgar in a white void showing they would never cross paths, the only reason I don't fully believe in the second idea is a the roof of the church is still intact and a plate falling would be something Zack couldn't not see and be wondering what the hell happened, people think because Zack doesn't see Aerith that she is missing when to me it makes more sense that Zack never went to her house first and just assumed she would be at the church and was surprised when he didn't see her Edit: So some people are wondering about 2 things, time and the church, as someone pointed out Zack and Cloud were experimented on for 4 years and spent a year on the road trying to get to Midgar hense Cloud saying in the main game it's been 5 years since he and Tifa meet again 2. Is it the same Church, short answer no, long answer, look at the lighting in the Church You can clearly see beams of light from the windows but no light coming from where Cloud would have fallen leaving a big fuck off hole in the roof, Zack seems to be there anywhere around Midday to early breakfast but that doesn't matter because under the Plate their light comes from the sunlamps to emulate day time and we know from CH6 of the main game the sun lamps do not move they are always overhead meaning if there was a hole in the roof it would be impossible not to notice
The kids crying in the church and the flowers for me means more than just "Aerith wasn't there". I think Zack is in a different timeline and in his timeline Aerith is dead.
wait wait wait!!!! aerith is dead because Cloud wasn't there to help her when she was attacked by the plot ghosts!(or sephiroth himself?) because in the now Zack's alive timeline he's more than likely still a vegetable and zack's death was the moment to wake him up, thus him running into aerith after sector 1 bombing didn't become a thing. or maybe.... Barret and Tifa more than likely went on the run and got attacked by the guard scorpion and because Cloud wasn't there to give hints and tips on the damn thing, they died as a result!. so the midgar gang is in fact dead in zack's timeline! sector one didn't get blown up and Aerith got attacked by Sephiroth/plot ghosts
Okay, rewatching this video 1 week before Rebirth comes out and Max saying "Have the next game opening scene be Cloud and Sephiroth being bros together in the back of a truck in a rainy night" B R O... this shit is wild to me LOL
Besides agreeing to Max almost every single time during this stream, I remember that all this talk filled me with happiness as cheesy as it sounds. Talking about the game I love the most (or the remake) with the same passion as me while interacting with everyon just made me have that moment of "FUCK, I LOVE THIS GAME". Sharing what you love with people as passionate is contagious, man, and it feels great.
I feel the same way, dude. Even if I was never really a big fan of the FF7 compilation, FF7R has definitely brought it to my attention, so I'm really looking forward to seeing what future parts have to offer.
that's also why I love youtube or twitch when someone plays a game that they like, the thing isn't what you talk or who talks, but how you do, when you share with other people something that you love, is kinda of contagious.
Did anyone else realise that whenever Zack is brought up/shown that the current cloud timeline it starts raining? And seems like aerith actually feels something bad when that happens like her saying her stomach in knots aswell as her reaction to the rain in the first ending of the remake. Also weird it feels like in this new ending the party, besides aerith, reaction to the rain seems like this is the first time it rained since leaving midgar. Because they had no reaction to the rain in the first ending of the remake except aerith? Also my bet is that they are setting up for a spinoff game with Zack timeline
They react to the rain bkuz they dont have a shelters. I dont know where you live but imagine walking 5 hours in a desert no town or city around and suddenly it starts to rain. It feels good for some and scary for some.
@@savann.sun1980 I know but I'm saying that in the first ending of the remake it rains but the party has no reaction to it besides aerith. But this new dlc ending the party now has a reaction to the rain as if it's the first time raining
I'd say the timelines have already converged, but no one is aware of it yet. The next entries are going to swap back and forth between cloud and Zack as they indirectly affect each other by doing their own thing.
If Cloud meets alternate timeline Zack, that would be very interesting... so much potential in the remake for great things to happen, and I am sure the Square won't disappoint.
There is already a Cloud in Zack's timeline though so either Zack has to be pulled into Remake Cloud's somehow. Otherwise, you would have two Clouds floating around. >.>
I would much prefer if the opening of Part 2 will allow us to take control of Alt. Zack for a short period of time. Just to catch up with things he missed, while he was gone hehe
That id a good opportunity for a tutorial actually. Cloud is still weak and unskilled so it’s the perfect opportunity to teach new and returning players the basic mechanics.
Oh my gosh, watching this now and reading the comments now after rebirth has been released for a while, it's so amazing. Love this channel. Dont ever retire max dood.😊
I really wish I hadn’t seen this scene in a UA-cam thumbnail last year. I didn’t get a PS5 until Spring so the surprise of seeing the gang walking down the road after the credits wasn’t a surprise but more like a relief of finally being able to see this scene.
As much as that would be cool, in light of the new ending we'll probably start with Zack's side of things to streamline the story. The flashback should transition straight into the main gameplay with Cloud, so the only way they can set up Zack and his situation would be to bring that to the beginning first, then cut away to Nibelheim for extra mindscrew.
I swear this is exactly what I was thinking when someone pointed out the differences in scenery from what we expected. Tho I would like it more if Cloud and Zack were to meet earlier in the story. So we could have them both in the party.
When Zack walks into the church and he his surrounded in white kind of reminds me of FF AV ending when him and Aerith's spirits watching over Cloud in the church at the end.
That was intentional .. it was the exact inverse of what you see during the AC (people cheering while Zack leaves the church) vs Zack running in and see people in distress as seen here.
some people think that's to signal that zack is actually dead and this is the afterlife, but I think it's just the lighting effect when you go from a really bright place to a really shady place and the light just blows out your retinas at the entraces.
Man, wouldn't it be cool to get Zack and Future cloud to talk once more. For Zack to let Cloud know to live on a happy life and not be down on his death
Agreed. There is definitely going to be a timeline convergence at some point. I figure Sephiroth is going to merge with multiple timeline versions of himself and that's who Zack and Cloud will have to fight; Perfect Sephiroth.
You know, I had mixed feelings about this dimentional thing, but when I saw Intermission’s ending, when the party just hung out with each other, I remembered why I love FFVII, the characters, seeing them talk about nothing, being frustrated over little things, but constantly looking out for each other... you can have the most idiotic story, but as long as the cast remains faithful (or more so) to their NA release, I’m good. Looking forward to FFVIIR pt2.
other thoughts: 1- the finalle will be much more complex this time around: at least the party vs sephiroth vs deepground. 2- they are building the characters so much that this "remake" will take a long time to actually be done. start saving for your playstation 6. 3- for better and for worst the story will not be the same. and the characters will be very, very different. 4- how can yuffi do the same things she did in the og after this? 5- Rufus may have a much bigger presence in the remake. will he be heading to AC Rufus or a completely diferent place? 6- Scarlet was amazingly grown in this. Will the other Shinra bad guys receive the same treatment?
It was only a crumb, but feel like they already set up Heidegger for a more involved arc when he accidentally addresses Rufus as VP in the ending and Rufus doesn't respond
3 - except the devs came out and said this year that FFVIIR's story will keep the same main storybeats and moments from the OG. There may be more detail or extra scenarios/situations added to keep things fresh for those of us who know the OG story, but by and large, the major things that happen will still happen, they said.
@@jenniferchough "they said" and you believe them? if you consider the storyof the remake so far we already have quite a few things that went a little off of what was said. i will wait and judge the final product, whenever it is done.
My personal thinking is that in Zack's timeline, all the people who have died in the original timeline are now alive e.g Biggs and Jessie and obviously Zack. The people in the Church, some of them look injured, I think are the victims of the plate collapsing in Sector 7, they are dead in the original timeline but are now alive in Zack's timeline. Eventually Aerith will die like the original game and she will continue to be alive in Zack's timeline. I think Max is right that the timelines with converge and everyone will kick Sephy's ass but when that happens the arbiters of fate that Sephiroth absorbed at the end of the part 1 will emerge and put the timelines right again in a very FFX style. Killing Sephiroth means Aerith and Zack will die all over again and we will be left with the original timeline as it happened in the og game except they will find a way to kill Sephiroth for good, basically making the events of Advent Children not happening anymore.
@@SnakeWorksStudio What I'm thinking is that because Sephiroth has absorbed Fate now that Cloud and the party have defeated the Arbiters of Fate, the people whose fate it was to die can't pass on to the lifestream, so instead they are stuck in limbo. I think the Stamp bag that changed at the end of part 1 was a previous model for Stamp that was cancelled and replaced with the current model. So the previous model is dead in the main timeline but alive in the alternate timeline with Zack.

@@richardsmith1898 In the timeline where they get wiped out, they are dead and in the FF7 universe, that means they go back to the lifestream as part of the planet. In the timeline where they don't get wiped out, they are alive.
I never realiced, but Cloud's eyes have a greener tint than the average Soldier and, even if it is subtle, I really love a touch like that, it tells a story without actually telling it you know?
Personal deep analysis at the end: -Zack's Buster sword is way rustier than cloud's, that's a curious detail. -The flower look more trampled than withered, they may believe her dead but I rather think she was taken by the Shinra since Cloud wasn't here to save her this time, and just thrown in rumor she died during Reactor 1 attack (since we know the shinra planted explosives themselves to enhance the destruction).
I can definitely see the Cloud + Zack team-up thing at the very end of the story happening, but what I also think is going to happen as well...is a gut-punch ending that the Compilation, outside source material, and this Remake have been building up to for years: Cloud eventually realizes that his existence is the thread that keeps Sephiroth around. So he goes on a suicide mission to trap and defeat Sephiroth once and for all, at the cost of his own life.
Literally had this thought myself. Like I see Cloud going to do the ultimate hero sacrifice to actually stop Sephiroth once and for all. What a twist that would be
I think this is precisely why they're reintroducing Zack, to get out of having to do that. I am dead certain that Zack will be the actual key to getting out of this mess, and he will probably sacrifice himself to do so. Ultimately, I simply don't think they have the balls to actually kill Cloud off. What they can do however is get out of that by using Zack, and then do something to completely wipe Cloud's memory. Cloud doesn't need to die for the conclusion everything has been building up to for the past twenty years to occur, he just needs to forget about Sephiroth. What I'm thinking along the lines of as an actual outcome would be if Sephiroth tries to use Zack as an anchor in the material world to manifest himself, but it backfires and he gets locked inside of Zack instead, who is probably then locked inside of the Lifestream or something. Or worse, what if Zack sacrifices himself to lock Sephiroth up inside of his own body and them locks his body up outside of space and time. That is some convoluted shit, but it is exactly the type of convoluted shit they could go for.
Max’s pitch for the title screen. O god I got chills. Imagine the prelude with touches of those chosen by the planet? While sephiroth cloud and ramirez are in the truck
Maybe that scene when Zack gets into the church means that Aerith is not even alive, like, he being alive somehow made something in the world of his timeline make Aerith die or something like that...
@Chase Wells or Sephiroth killed her again. Cuz that’s what he does😎 Them JENOVA cells just love killing the ancients. Shinra wouldn’t kill Aerith, and if for whatever reason they accidentally did, people in the slums wouldnt know that she was dead. Shinra would’ve covered it all up.
@@shagswag7435 it could be, but we saw in the ending that both of them survive and Cloud is just unconscious, maybe Cloud became i dunno a barista or something in Zack's timeline?
I honestly LOVE how this story is playing out thus far. Cannot wait to play part two. Also cannot wait to see how they render the Weapon bosses, Hades, and Knights of the Round.
I think I've settled in on my future prediction based on 7R+I The glimpses we are seeing of Zack are not an alternate reality, but a 'Fixed' or 'Corrected' timeline that occurs after the conclusion of Final Fantasy VII Remake. Similar to how we believe that FF7R takes place 'after' Advent Children, or in some sort of groundhog day loop caused by Meteor, or a case where Aerith returns to the past via the Lifestream, idk choose whatever mechanics you want for this. The point I'm thinking is that after the 'successful' conclusion of FF7R, the timeline is reset and this is where we are seeing Zack.
Also another reason they are separate time lines is that Zack and Cloud both have the buster sword. If it was the same time line only one of them would have it.
I personally think that Zack is in the lifestream and what we’re seeing are the souls of people crying because they realize they are dead, meaning Zack doesn’t realize he’s dead and/or cannot accept his death. Similar to how Aerith states that she can hear them crying, but Sephiroth cannot. IDK BRO
Oh I thought that they would be crying because since cloud wasn't around during that point in the timeline, the plate fell and killed a bunch of people, possibly including all of avalanche.
Why would the people from the sector 8 bombing seek refuge in a run down church in the slums on the opposite side of the city? It's MORE likely their refugees from the sector 7 collapse.
@@RaifSeverence Could be like Max said. They are there mourning Aeriths death. After all she was everywhere handing out flowers, she's probably well known in Zacks timeline

Red (Nanaki)=His Dad Cid=Sonon Yuffie=Cissnei (From Crisis Core) Cait Sith=Reeve It would be a cool dynamic!
The Part 2 first trailer should open like this: Cold open, no pre-credit "Square-Enix" or "Playstation" or anything. Camera opens to a high angle establishing shot of a rainy field at night. It looks pretty, dark, a little ominous. The camera moves to a focused angle, we make out what looks like a dirt road, muddy with puddles in the rain. In the distance a low rumble, we soon realize it's a car engine roaring as headlights appear on the horizon. Camera stays for a second to see the car, now seemingly a truck coming into view. The camera jump cuts to a closer view, we barely make it out. Lighting flashes, the truck passes in front of the camera. Clearly by the light of lighting we read "Shin-Ra" (cue audience losing their minds) The camera turns with to look at the passing truck, we see two windows on the back faintly lit. The camera cuts to a fixed angle looking directly into the windows. A figure appears to peek out, it's Cloud. Following this we see either more cutscenes and gameplay sizzle. But that's my vision of how it should open at least.
This is pretty much what I Imagined. I lightning sound and it shows it raining at night then the truck, cue cloud being how he is In the flashback, them gameplay of seph fighting the dragon.
I think vignettes like this would be perfect for new games openings. At the end of this flash back you flash forward to Kalm, and Cloud telling the story. We could have another one of Zack during training or a mission then flashing forward, and the last installment, we have you as a young Sephiroth l, then flash forward.
I'm glad you picked up on the Church scene. ( Though I kinda joked to myself that Zack threw Cloud into the "this guy are sick" can before going to the church and that's why he wasn't there.) Back at the ending of Destiny's Crossroads Sephiroth looked dead at Aerith and smirked as he changed the timeline. Her look at that moment was totally a " What the F did you just do?" look. Followed by a How DARE you. look. ( imo) lol. I'm guessing the split timeline is soon after the city of the ancients and maybe that Marlene told Elymra Aerith is gone because, you know, she can. The way Aerith told Elmyra about her husband. Barret always is so intent on learning anything he can about the ancients any time they come up in conversation and usually always has a little info himself - not because hes on a religious type tangent, but if you watch his body language at Aerith's house listening to her story he looks more like a single parent trying to find out what he needs to learn for her sake. Aerith doing her tarot card readings through raindrops at the end too, she knows, but she doesn't know exactly what. Got me all F'd up for the next chapter. I also believe she is dead in both timelines. When Marlene mentions Aerith, she says " That girl, shes kinda.." Not strange, or weird. I think she stopped herself from saying Hey, yeah shes kinda dead.

If we're going by a common time travel trope, by the party being in the singularity they are temporarily removed from the timeline. In a hypothetical 1 timeline theory shit changes in the past, but the ripples don't affect the party because they aren't part of the timeline, and then they get reinserted afterwards. So, it can be explained - though I do lean more towards the multiple timeline idea.
Probably. But time convergence bullshit will allow it. As per Rick and Morty, time and space become certain and everything becomes possible and not possible. That means 2 clouds, zack is alive and they’re all on the same planet.
......unless he was time displaced. Considering the time difference between the plate falling and zack arriving at midgar several months before the initial bombing run mission, it's entirely possible that zack was just pulled from his point in the og timeline and zapped to the world of ff7r post aribiter fight. i mean when you think about it, sephiroth is clearly from the future, and the stuff in the OG timeline had to have HAPPENED for sephiroth to know how to mess with the past. So zack being pulled from the og timeline due to the elimination of the arbiter's isn't THAT outlandish
I hope there’s literally a whole extra game with just Zack, like make this remake story be 4 games long, and set up for the second game to end on a cliffhanger, abs then the next game be ZACK doing the bombing run!!! The only difference is that there will be different things happening!
If the convergence does come into fruition, I hope the battle between Cloud and Zack v Sephiroth happens (or at least starts) inside a Nibelheim reactor to mirror the past.

Yeah. I mean I think it’s a given that there will be a zack cloud team up against sephirpth in the finale

Me: OHHHHHHHHHHH MAHDAFAHKA! OHHHH!!
Here's something I remembered when I was about this to someone else online, and it's a bit of spoilers for Advent Children:
Remember when Aerith mention that the church had a special "power" to Cloud explaining why the flowers were so resilient after he fell?
Turns out that the church and the flowers are right above a flow of Lifestream, which is why they're still healthy even after Aerith is gone in Advent Children.
Now with that in mind, think back to the ending of Intermission.
Those flowers are in a worse shape than they ever are in the entire series before this.
If that's the case, not only should we wonder about Aerith...but what's also going on with the Lifestream?
With that all said now, I think I'm ready to see if any of this holds up once Part 2 arrives.
Omg, you're right!

“His Laguna mission”
Bro, you’re a genius. That FFVIII Laguna and Squall gameplay comparison was FUCKING….GENIUS!
I dunno.
I think the rain at Kalm is supposed to be a buildup to cloud telling his story with Sephiroth at the inn
the singularity happened before they left the city, when they leave and they cross each other, they clearly aren't in the same "dimension/timeline/universe" or they'd react to each other, Aerith does seem to react to it, but that could just be her thing and the planet knowledge could itself be a singularity, so it'd be shared among all timelines, giving her that knowledge.
I respect what you're saying, but the one big element that you have to factor in to your thinking:
Zack has a buster sword, and Cloud has a buster sword.

13:30 Wow. You were absolutely correct in your prediction. 😮
that ending either means two things
1. Zack went straight to the church after dropping off Cloud in midgar, meaning that scene takes place weeks before the first bombing run in his timeline
2. Zack got to Midgar but because of time issues he's somehow there in his own timeline after the plate fell as we saw at the end of the game he and an unconcious cloud passed the group leaving midgar in a white void showing they would never cross paths,
the only reason I don't fully believe in the second idea is a the roof of the church is still intact and a plate falling would be something Zack couldn't not see and be wondering what the hell happened,
people think because Zack doesn't see Aerith that she is missing when to me it makes more sense that Zack never went to her house first and just assumed she would be at the church and was surprised when he didn't see her
Edit:
So some people are wondering about 2 things, time and the church, as someone pointed out Zack and Cloud were experimented on for 4 years and spent a year on the road trying to get to Midgar hense Cloud saying in the main game it's been 5 years since he and Tifa meet again
2. Is it the same Church, short answer no, long answer, look at the lighting in the Church You can clearly see beams of light from the windows but no light coming from where Cloud would have fallen leaving a big fuck off hole in the roof, Zack seems to be there anywhere around Midday to early breakfast but that doesn't matter because under the Plate their light comes from the sunlamps to emulate day time and we know from CH6 of the main game the sun lamps do not move they are always overhead meaning if there was a hole in the roof it would be impossible not to notice
i think 2. is true because the kid who is crying injured was seen at the start of ff7 riding a bicycle on the upper plate
It's the first one, currently Zack is still in the past, before the bomb run.
If the roof is still intact it's because there was no Cloud to fall through it. Doesn't have any bearing to the timing of the plate falling imo.

@@Extradecentskeleton Yeah, Cloud should just leave the edge lord stuff to the edge lord kings - Weiss and Nero.
@@itsdantaylor yeah, I agree. Zack can't be dead, because as the material ultimania confirms, Zack has lived.
@@benn93z28 that's because cloud hasnt shown up. Aerith tells everyone to gather there and wait for Cloud
Looking forward to FFVIIR pt2.
other thoughts:
1- the finalle will be much more complex this time around: at least the party vs sephiroth vs deepground.
Pretty much my thoughts, 2 and 3 especially. And after this dlc ending I'm not expecting much of free roaming exploration.
It was only a crumb, but feel like they already set up Heidegger for a more involved arc when he accidentally addresses Rufus as VP in the ending and Rufus doesn't respond
4- yuffie needs Materia for Wutai..... Clouds group has a bunch of materia ..... Sound familiar?
3 - except the devs came out and said this year that FFVIIR's story will keep the same main storybeats and moments from the OG. There may be more detail or extra scenarios/situations added to keep things fresh for those of us who know the OG story, but by and large, the major things that happen will still happen, they said.
@@jenniferchough "they said" and you believe them? if you consider the storyof the remake so far we already have quite a few things that went a little off of what was said. i will wait and judge the final product, whenever it is done.
wait till we have to fight that GIANT SNAKE just after the chocobo farm!
Fight?SPAMS THE RUN BUTTON(if we will have one)
Killing Sephiroth means Aerith and Zack will die all over again and we will be left with the original timeline as it happened in the og game except they will find a way to kill Sephiroth for good, basically making the events of Advent Children not happening anymore.
so those are all the people in the lifestream (heaven)?
@@SnakeWorksStudio What I'm thinking is that because Sephiroth has absorbed Fate now that Cloud and the party have defeated the Arbiters of Fate, the people whose fate it was to die can't pass on to the lifestream, so instead they are stuck in limbo. I think the Stamp bag that changed at the end of part 1 was a previous model for Stamp that was cancelled and replaced with the current model. So the previous model is dead in the main timeline but alive in the alternate timeline with Zack.
@@kieranfennelly5746 Lol, what about all the soldiers that weren't supposed to die on that field in the final stand? Where do they go when they are wiped out when they shouldn't have been?
@@richardsmith1898 In the timeline where they get wiped out, they are dead and in the FF7 universe, that means they go back to the lifestream as part of the planet. In the timeline where they don't get wiped out, they are alive.
I never realiced, but Cloud's eyes have a greener tint than the average Soldier and, even if it is subtle, I really love a touch like that, it tells a story without actually telling it you know?
Cloud wasn't mutated before getting the Jenova cells according to Crisis
Personal deep analysis at the end:
-Zack's Buster sword is way rustier than cloud's, that's a curious detail.
-The flower look more trampled than withered, they may believe her dead but I rather think she was taken by the Shinra since Cloud wasn't here to save her this time, and just thrown in rumor she died during Reactor 1 attack (since we know the shinra planted explosives themselves to enhance the destruction).
Everything is a cluster fuck lol. Why there are 2 buster swords now!?
Two timelines, two Buster Swords.
It's very possible Zack being alive is a different, parallel timeline.
Imagine Zack's part of the story is him doing detective work and solving what tf is going on and piecing his story together. That would be so cool
Agreed, I don't think either ending are red herrings simply because I also don't believe we have all the pieces to the story yet.
And imagine Kunsel being a party member of Zack this time and we get to see his face! 😍
@@salverobosa7135 YEEEEES MORE KUNSEL SCREENTIME
I can definitely see the Cloud + Zack team-up thing at the very end of the story happening, but what I also think is going to happen as well...is a gut-punch ending that the Compilation, outside source material, and this Remake have been building up to for years: Cloud eventually realizes that his existence is the thread that keeps Sephiroth around. So he goes on a suicide mission to trap and defeat Sephiroth once and for all, at the cost of his own life.
Explains why sephiroth showed up in smash ultimate too, joking. This theory really does blow my mind though.
This is what I've been thinking as well. It'll be a fairly decent gut punch and will be a nice twist if they choose to keep Aerith alive now
Literally had this thought myself. Like I see Cloud going to do the ultimate hero sacrifice to actually stop Sephiroth once and for all. What a twist that would be
Cloud: Stay in my memories where you belong.
Sephiroth: I will never be a memory.
FF7R Sephiroth: I need you to live.
Sephiroth horcrux is Cloud.
Knowing Nomura, he's going to make us fight Zack in an unavoidable boss battle.
And EVERYONE is going to hate doing that.
Cuz that’s what he does😎
Them JENOVA cells just love killing the ancients. Shinra wouldn’t kill Aerith, and if for whatever reason they accidentally did, people in the slums wouldnt know that she was dead. Shinra would’ve covered it all up.
Bcz There's no plot ghost to keep her safe in Zack's timeline
I was thinking that maybe since Zack is alive in this other timeline that Cloud was the one who died
@@shagswag7435 it could be, but we saw in the ending that both of them survive and Cloud is just unconscious, maybe Cloud became i dunno a barista or something in Zack's timeline?
Well you nailed what the opening of rebirth basically is lol
And yea it was amazing lol
I honestly LOVE how this story is playing out thus far. Cannot wait to play part two. Also cannot wait to see how they render the Weapon bosses, Hades, and Knights of the Round.
I think I've settled in on my future prediction based on 7R+I
The glimpses we are seeing of Zack are not an alternate reality, but a 'Fixed' or 'Corrected' timeline that occurs after the conclusion of Final Fantasy VII Remake.
I like how when Yuffie says "The Amazing Yuffie wants you!" she is pointing at a cloud.
Makes sense in the concept "a life for a life", aerith being dead in Zach's stead
Also another reason they are separate time lines is that Zack and Cloud both have the buster sword. If it was the same time line only one of them would have it.
13:30 bruh, this is exactly what is shown in thr new trailer, oh my god, max is nostradamus
Cloud: "Do we become assholes or something?" Zack: "No, it's your kids! No one is gonna like Denzel!"
Sephiroth is controlled by Jenova, Jenova’s controlled by Denzel.
Max's insight or positing (whatever you want to call it) is what keeps me coming back to this channel, especially when it comes to FF7 Remake.
All those people in the church are from the sector 8 beginning game cutscene
Why would the people from the sector 8 bombing seek refuge in a run down church in the slums on the opposite side of the city? It's MORE likely their refugees from the sector 7 collapse.
@@RaifSeverence Could be like Max said. They are there mourning Aeriths death. After all she was everywhere handing out flowers, she's probably well known in Zacks timeline
@@RaifSeverence the plate hadn’t collapse yet tho? I doubt it took Zack two days to get back to Midgar.
If Zack is doing the whole "Laguna" thing, it would be cool to see him create a party based on the similarities of the main characters in Timeline #1
Cloud=Zack
Tifa=Jesse
Barret=Dyne
Aerith=?
Red (Nanaki)=His Dad
Cid=Sonon
Yuffie=Cissnei (From Crisis Core)
Cait Sith=Reeve
It would be a cool dynamic!
"they're sad cuz the plate crashed" they say. But Zack comes to midgar with Zack like.. Days or even Weeks before the plate ever falls.
The Part 2 first trailer should open like this:
Cold open, no pre-credit "Square-Enix" or "Playstation" or anything. Clearly by the light of lighting we read "Shin-Ra" (cue audience losing their minds)
The camera turns with to look at the passing truck, we see two windows on the back faintly lit. The camera cuts to a fixed angle looking directly into the windows. A figure appears to peek out, it's Cloud.
Following this we see either more cutscenes and gameplay sizzle. But that's my vision of how it should open at least.
This is pretty much what I
Imagined.
"Guess what the very end of this story is going to lead to?"
Dirge of Cerberus 2?
yes! Omega Genesis must come!
No plz no 😁
Dirge 2: Electric Boogaloo
@@i.theworstguys298 Dirge: 2 Genesis put Chaos power, protomateria, Zirconiade materia in Lucrecia's corpse... he thinks this is a good idea... but he create Neo Jenova with LASER!
Nomura will be the final boss in the story lol.
Hope we see another video from Max on this and theory crafting now that there has been a bit of time since he played it
I was waiting for him to get to that conclusion at the end. That’s how I took it. Zack might be alive in the “original” timeline, where Aerith died.
It has to be two different timelines, otherwise Zack wouldn't still have his Buster Sword.
This is what I was coming to comment
Or Zack just dies later.
To have Sephiroth teach you the basics in part 2 would be badass!
Cloud Strife: "your...!"
Zack Fair: "hello old friend"
Cloud and Zack's timelines converging and them teaming up to fight Sephiroth together.. I don't have the words for how awesome that would be.
Hearing Max set the intro to the flashback start of the game is pretty awesome.
i love it when Max geeks out on this shit. freaking awesome. cant wait for the next game
God I hope zack gets his own episode
to merge the timelines he MUST have an episode explaining not only his combat style but what he's timeline truly looks like
Red13 needs his own ep. I wanna know what he was doing before he was captured by Shinra.
I think the odds of that are nigh 100% in favor of it happening
Man, that would be so fucking dope. A ff7R episode of Zack.. Man, it makes the teen in me scream with hope! XD
I just played Intergrade myself. And rewatching the FFVIIRemake finally. I get the feeling that the "Edge of Creation" Sephiroth is actually the real Sephiroth. And that, maybe. He wanted them to break the timeline.
Zack and Cloud are both wielding the same Bustersword. It has to be two timelines.
