- The interesting thing about this song is it played completely on the hi hat. The original drummer was Joe English. Joe was one of the first group of lefties that played open handed. I had to compromise to a two hi hat kit to play it close to the original.
I actually meet Joe English in the early 1990s when my band played at the Creation 90 festival in PA.

Still studying this one. I agree it's unique in the hihat area. Could I ask if you have others similar that you might comment on?. I'm actually trying to be more proficient with two hihats and open style play. I like how you adapted to keep it a right hand lead with the second hats. So... It looks like another Earl Day in South Bama.

Robby Rock-Drummer ... I removed the drums from the track with a program called Xtrax Stems II. I started this 9 months ago. Best way to make drum covers for me.

Remember playing (and singing) this when he released it. I always thought “what a great tune and groove”. You captured it very well, Earl. Your drum tuning is spot-on. Great sound. I also enjoyed the camera angle you used. S that your Gretsch Kit? Looks like mine (1979).

Earl, have to give you a shout out on this one and the drumming magic around the 2:20 mark. Man, I never thought much of this tune but it is a really well structured pop hit. Nice work. (have you ever heard any original demo's with Paul playing drums?)
HVY FKN HITR ... thank you ... I believe Paul played drums on Baby I’m Amazed ... I have seen him play on video a few times. He is like every musician today, you have to play multiple instruments. He was one of the forerunners of this concept.
