Welcome to the OOR journey. You're right they're a rock band from Japan and they are very famous. Taka is the lead singer, Ryota is on the bass, Toru is on guitar and Tomoya is on the drums. They formed in 2005 and now they're making their way into the world. Their songs always have a positive message and Taka said it's because they want to leave something for the future generation. They were supposed to be on tour with Linkin Park but then it all happened with Chester and they cancelled it but Taka performed on Chester's tribute. It's funny you said this song it's like a ''push back anthem'' because they have a song called Push back and it's like an anthem :D You should definitely continue to react to them. All of their songs are bangers and Taka's voice is angelic. But always check out live performances they are way better than the studio versions. For the next one I suggest Take what you want live from Ambitions Japan Dome tour 2018 or I was king live with Orchestra. You'll not be dissapointed. This band is an abosolute masterpiece.
Taka, the lead singer is amazing... and they started as a band in like 2005 so they've been around for a while. I Was King is great, Take What You Want is friggin amazing, but you have to go into it with a lot of patience... if you do it you'll know why, just wait it out, it'll be worth it.
Please keep on reacting to them, you'll never be disappointed. I found them couple of years ago and I’m so disappointed in myself for never having heard them before.
Another day, another reactor discovering ONE OK ROCK through "We Are." Good stuff👍 This song was originally written for 18 Fes, which was a TV program where they chose 1000 18 year olds around the country to perform the song with the band. At the time, 18 year olds were being given the right to vote but they are still considered minors until they hit 20, so the song is to empower them. Of course the song can mean different things to different people, but it's meant to lift them up. OOR has a lot of uplifting songs about being yourself, such as "Stand Out Fit In" and "Mikansei Koukyoukyoku." It's not surprising that you hear a bit of Linkin Park in their music since LP was one of their inspirations. They were supposed to tour together but unfortunately we know what happened to Chester. Mike Shinoda produced their song "One Way Ticket" if you ever wanna check that out, and he shared the stage with Taka at Identity LA. You can find footage of that on UA-cam. Though not his best performance because he got nervous, Taka sang "Somewhere I Belong" at Chester's tribute concert. OOR are huge in Japan and they recently just completed their second Dome tour. On June 3rd, there will be a global livestream of their performance at Tokyo Dome so if you have a few extra bucks (or $40), I highly recommend you check it out. I was at the concert and it was amazing. Check their official website for details. They also have a documentary on Netflix called Flip A Coin if you want to learn more about the band. These guys are so talented. It's Taka on vocals, Toru on guitar, Ryota on bass, and Tomoya on drums. They've worked with Ed Sheeran, 5SOS, recently opened for Muse in the US and will be opening for Muse again in Europe, etc. These guys are the real deal. They are so good live and I hope you check out more of their music, especially their live performances. My personal favorite is "The Beginning."
Really nice, would love your reaction to some of their more rock songs I'd strongly recommend The Beginning, or Deeper Deeper live from 2014 Yokohama Stadium
I think they blew up back when they did the theme song for the first Rurouni Kenshin live action movie. The song was fire. It's called "The Beginning". I've been listening to them ever since. Their old songs are fire too but most of them are in japanese.
This band has been around for about fifteen years, and has always been good. My favorites are Mighty Long Fall and Clock Strikes, best seen live at Yokohama.
Take what you want from the 2018 ambitions tour is something you have to see! Also I highly recommend The singers Taka's cover of Adele's Hello. You're been blown away! Welcome to One Ok Rock! They are an amazing band with much passion for what they do and for their fans!
They absolutely had a good relationship with Linkin Park and did songs together. One Ok Rock had done many American tours and festivals with other American artists. It jusy sucks that American radio won't play foreign artists. Not that it really matters when everyone streams now.
For me it is like Linkin Park merged with 30 Seconds to Mars kind of sound and vibe ! The coll thing is that there's nobody using the phone to take a pic or video , just enjoying the show only !!
That was probably years ago when you went. After the government encouraged tourism, things gradually changed. Train maps are now available in English, especially in the Tokyo area. English was added to the elementary curriculum around 2010-11. Chances are people can at least answer in English if you need help, although broken English. But if you ask HS students for directions, they’d probably be able to help you. It’s pretty recent and more still has to be done, but it’s not impossible anymore. I got to Japan in the early 2000s and it was tough. 😂 I communicated in broken Japanese and gestures. But now, I speak Japanese and Japanese people are starting to speak English, so it’s much smoother.
@@zack_reacts yeah, the English versions should have been available already. Probably at the station master’s window or the Midori Window (tourist information, etc.) But I get it, who would know to ask right? Too bad, you should come back to visit. I bet you’d find it easier now.
ua-cam.com/video/Ygn6aiTtCeY/v-deo.html "Take what you want" I agree absolutely awesome, this is the link to that video. They have been huge over seas for well over 10 yrs but Americans are just finding them for the most part. This particular video is so good because they take a minute to tribute to Chester as they were supposed to tour with Linkin Park but had to cancel the tour for obvious reasons. They have songs with Ed Sheeran 5 seconds of summer and Taka also did an awesome cover of Adele"hello" they are also so much better live than there recorded version to me so I recommend lives but they are great
