That's cool you guys can have spearguns in fresh water, here in florida we can't even have one in the boat on freshwater...can gig or bow fish but no speargun

It was not a pike, definitely a musky.. fairly important to know if you ever consider shooting a pike as musky and pike regs are totally different.. and a non musky angler could never judge the size correctly either

Hello, I'm a FISHING MAN IN VIET NAM
Some mighty fine scenery. Surprised the water isn’t boiling with those hot bodies swimming around.
When you point that spear gun at fish they recognize it as a predatory positioning referred to as piking. Northern pike musky and barracuda will line up and position themselves in a similar manner and that is how the fish are picking up on the spearguns. If you are just a little bit more discrete the fish may not notice it

I would advise single barb,and, string insted of wire to load the gun,so if it slips it don't hurt as bad, single barb less damage and better penetration.Good video!!

Is it allowed to spearfish in fresh water in your country ?
I will recomand you to dive at the bottom and wait for a fish.
Or hidden on the shade, or the sun in your back.
There are very curious, they will come to you easily, especially carps if you moove the mud.
But no talk no Splashs, no fast moves.
I feel strange that you can loose all thoses fishs.
When I spear one under 2kg I don't pull the line, I just hold it slack and swin to the fish to catch it with hands.
Usually like this the fish don't fight much.
Otherwise you probably need to change the end of your arrow.
And to wear a belt with little weight like 1kg if you are without a wetsuite.

Curious? Was anything done with the fish? I can see keeping fish to eat but you generally dont eat carp. Maybe a trash fish but seems pointless to kill them for nothing?? Where was this? I didnt even know it was legal to spearfish on lakes although I guess it's no different then bow hunting.

It looks interesting but spear fishing is harvest (no catch and release) and i doubt it's as fun as fishing with a rod. Just my opinion.

You can only spear fish for rough fish ( carp, drum, suckers and some places pike)

I know you guys were shooting for bait but are the other fish legal to shoot too? That pike, some of the bass and walleye would have been delicious. And it would have been a challenge to shoot some of those gills.
