@@xephrou if you decide to do another video showing more SpongeBob toys I have videos of more on my channel you can reference. And please let me know if there's any other way I can help 🙂
this video was so entertaining!! The editing and the weird and wonderful format looks really cool!- also totally biased but you should do a furby one of these. cant get enough of those silly little guys fr
I ADORE this video! I still have some Spongebob Burger King toys and Spongebob Beanie Babies and I feel super nostalgic now. Mattel made some really cool ones, but also a ton of cursed ones. Speaking of Mattel, toy history is a special interest of mine, and something I always found interesting was that back in the 50s and 60s, toy companies used to have their own mascots. Mattel had Matty Mattel, a boy wearing a crown, and Sister Belle, a blonde haired girl, as their mascots, but Belle didn't show up as often as Matty. Matty and Belle hosted a show called Matty's Funday Funnies, which hosted Harvey Comics cartoons such as Casper The Friendly Ghost, but in-between the cartoons, Matty and Belle would make quips and would advertise for Mattel Toys. Later on, Matty's Funday Funnies became Matty's Funnies with Beany and Cecil, based on Looney Tunes director Bob Clampett's Beany and Cecil cartoon. Matty and Belle even got to interact with some of the characters, namely Cecil the Sea-Sick Sea Serpent. Unfortuneately, Mattel dropped both Matty and Belle in the 70s, though Matty made a few comebacks. First was in the 1980s, but in the 2000s, Mattel gave Matty a new design for the Matty Collector website. But it was AWFUL. Spector Creative has some videos on the controversial history of the Matty Collector website, which also includes how the redesign of Matty on the website ruined the reputation of Matty as a mascot. Thankfully, Mattel did bring Matty back to his 80s design around 2010/2011, and they even brought back Belle, who now has a matching outfit to Matty, as seen on some pins from Worthpoint. Sadly, the two aren't used in ads, just as decoration in the Mattel building, and I feel like Mattel is disrespecting their legacy. Interestingly, Freddy Funko shares more than a few similarities to Matty Mattel, and I'm wondering how Mattel themselves didn't notice that. Another toy company that used to have a mascot is Hasbro. Their mascot was a boy creatively named Hasbro. Voiced by Mae Questel, voice actress of Olive Oyl from Popeye and many more vintage cartoon characters. Hasbro appeared through the 50s and 60s, and he would tell people about Hasbro's toys, such as in 1950s Mr Potato Head ads with the cursed looked Mr Potato Head. In the 60s, he would only show up in the end of commercials, doing random things, but not speaking. Notable examples include the Peteena ad, 60s Hasbro Christmas ads [again with Mr Potato Head], 1960s GI Joe Ads, and so forth. Hasbro [company] dropped Hasbro [mascot] in 1968, and he hasn't been seen since. Even this year, the 100th anniversary of Hasbro the company, they have NEVER even referenced Hasbro [mascot] in any way. Much like the Mattel example, I personally find it really insulting to the legacy behind these companies. This is just the tip of the toy company mascot iceberg, and I didn't even mention defunct toy company Marx Toys' mascot Magic Marxie! I find mascot history to be very interesting, yet sadly overshadowed.
darn- I loved this video- but I was hoping there'd be mention of this one (probably) forgotten plush spongebob toy that spoke to you- and I SWORE it had its tongue sticking out, and if you clicked on it he'd go "Why are you holding my tongue..??" I HAD THIS TOY!!! But I can't remember whatelse he did!!! I think he had plastic eyes?? I wish I remembered... but it most certainly not Shakey pants- IMPOSTER!
I FOUND IT!!!!!! OF CORSE IT'S CALLED "SQUEEZE MY TONGUE"!!!! Theres videos on it, I'm happy :) But yeah, thanks so much for this video! It's nice to look back at the biggest cartoon we grew up with as kids!
How about a look into the weird and wonderful look into the world of Mickey Mouse toys Disney has made, to celebrate Mickey Mouse becoming public domain in 2024
I remember I had a spongebob Clock as a kid with figures of Spongebob and Patrick on opposite sides of the clock. It had a starfish button the when you pressed it, played the theme song. I also remember my family got a "Spin-O-Clock" that changed the picture depending on the time and I broke it the day we got it.
The official SpongeBob UA-cam channel does these weird clip show compilation with a little operation graphic relating to the clip in question.they do it with multiple SpongeBob Characters even a Krabby patty for some reason ua-cam.com/video/PyHQZy1oQmM/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared

I had that exact ripped pants SpongeBob toy! I remember it running low on batteries, making the song slow down and it terrified me as a kid 💀
(I posted a cursed image of the exact said toy on my community tab that I took a few years ago now)
THINGS MAKING NOISE ON LOW BATTERY IS SUCH AN ICK / WEIRD DEEP FEAR OF MINE
this is such a silly video!!! i love how many variations of his name you came up with LMAOA
THE AMOUNT OF AUDIO I HAD TO CUT OUT BECAUSE I WAS LAUGHING ABOUT "SPINGEBILL" AND "SPOINGBOBBY".... embarrassing amount
The thumbnail looked adorable
