    These are great bench rifles. I'm on my second one. I sold my first one to get a Bergara B14R and I still have it, but I missed my LRP so I picked up another one. The LRP is a better 100 shooter and the B14R is just a bit tighter at 50yds. I wish I had this new darker stock - just love it. The only down side, CZ's new found popularity in the 22 world has driven up their prices.

      Glad you said that! I was toying with the idea of Bergera when I was looking at .22 rifles and went for the CZ. Looking for long range accuracy and I’ve been pretty impressed by the groups I’m getting from subsonic ammo (the HV stuff works ok but isn’t quite as tight)

      @@JonCresswellUk I'll give you some cool tips that I've used on all my CZ's.
      1. Replace the trigger spring with a cut down spring from a BIC lighter (the flint spring - not the red button). It will bring your trigger pull weight down next to nothing, which will improve your accuracy. And while you have the trigger out, polish the top, which mates to the sear, to a mirror finish.
      2. The CZ bolt is kind of crunchy because of the laser cut serial number on the bottom. I use a green scotch pad on a die grinder to polish down the rough edges and then use my 8" buffer pad and some red polishing compound to polish the bottom side of the bolt. Do this and it will be smooth as glass when you cycle it.

      @@scarbourgeoisie I know what you mean about the serial number, so I may give that a go 😊. I’m not sure I’m confident enough to fiddle with the trigger yet, but I may adjust the grab screws a bit to make it a bit lighter - it’s still on factory setting, but I do favour a slightly heavy trigger so I don’t accidentally pull the trigger if I’m using gloves.

    Interesting how each person has their own cleaning routine for .22lr
    I only shoot lead projectiles, pull a boresnake through 3 times between different types of ammo
    I clean the chamber with a nylon brush and clean the bolt before every match or session to try and avoid any ejection issues. The above has always served me well

    • @JonCresswellUk
      @JonCresswellUk  Рік тому +1

      Yes, lots of variations on how people clean them. Do you use any cleaning fluids on your boresnake?
      Only asking as I used to use a similar method, and use oil, to clean my barrels but when I tried the rimfire blend and patches it was surprising how dirty my barrel was 😳. Some people never clean them, so there’s definitely a balance.

    • @flyniceguy
      @flyniceguy Рік тому +1

      @@JonCresswellUk just a cheap local product that cleans and lubes same time. For the chamber and bolt I use a locally made rimfire carbon cleaner similar to the Boretech product but more affordable

      @JonCresswellUk  Рік тому +1

      There are lots on the market and everyone has their favourite go to cleaner 👍👍
      At least you’re keeping it clean and maintaining your rifle 🤙 it’s the best way to make sure that it’s serviceable should you need it.

    If you unscrew the moderator half way out and then press the unscrewed end on something, it will push the other end out. Excellent moderators.

      The one that comes in the MDT chassis is nice 👌 good to go straight out of the box

    How did you manage to get the Rome rifle chassis as they won't post to the UK and no UK distributors currently ?

    do you have any issues with the 36" cleaning rod handle clashing with the top of the stock? do you need to twist or bend the rod to clear the handle of the stock?

    • @JonCresswellUk
