In Flash I learned how to code all of the basic graphics in ActionScript. So, I would create the file in normal animation and then convert it to code. I would have files that were 500k that would convert to 5k by making the identical objects and animation with just code. It made a huge difference back in 2001.
Me again. Thank you for this tutorial. I had given up on Flash and after 10 years I'm back into animation for the web. I learned things in your tutorial that I never knew. Distribute to layers is fantastic.

Cool! Yeah Animate has a lot of great things about it that Adobe doesn't exactly advertise!

I have advanced settings on and yet I still get grayed out layer parenting. Says, Parenting not supported in this document type?
It appears that I made the document an HTML5 doc instead od an actionscript3 file.
