Hello Sir @NiceBikeService , nice tutorial, this channel is GOLD. I come to ask you again if you can please make a video how to service a Rockshox Judy 29" Coil Fork - for air judy fork we can find video on how to service, but for Judy Coil fork no.
The fork I mentioned before can be found on the bike - CUBE AIM SLX 2023, its name is: RockShox Judy Silver TK Coil, 100mm, Lockout. I don't really know if inside there needs to be oil put in or just grase since its a coil fork.
    Thank you for your work

There will be a video soon about a fork with the same internal parts as yours.

Should you not use a torque wrench for tightning this? It seems dangerous not to

Does the bottom bracket for a road bike not use a ring?

Would anti seize work as well, or better, than grease for the threads?

    • @NiceBikeService

I've never used it, but I don't think there will be any difference.

@@NiceBikeServiceyeah not much difference if the thread in the bottom bracket shell is aluminum. For a steel or titanium frame the copper antisieze would be my recommendation. Always put some grease or antisieze on both tread surfaces.

Here guys we see a typical hollowtech problem - see how nasty the cups are and how much cleaner it is inside the tube(the grease is still green there!). That is why if you are riding in dirt and wet conditions the good square taper is better.

Doesn't that mean it is nice that the dirt doesn't get inside?

perhaps but hollowtech is much lighter and more service friendly for a home mechanic

I've been able to remove the plastic dust shield with a blade that is labeled Do Not Remove. It's does break easily so you have to pry it up tiny bits at a time going around the clock. Once out the bearing seal can be pried out with the tip of a blade. I keep one that I only use for this because a dull one doesn't work as well. Then the bearing can be cleaned out it is usually blackened and broken down, but if the bearing is still smooth adding new Shimano Dura Ace Grease will extend the life of the bearing. I have a Grease gun with a 3mm plastic straw on that I flattened the end and made a staight cut on. I can get this inside the bearing retainers and fill with an excess of grease. Put the seal back on and cover with some more grease then pop the outer dust shield back on. The excess grease will slowly be expelled and keep water/dirt from entering the bearing. I worked in a large bicycle shop for almost 40 years as a mechanic so I did this alot refurbishing used bicycles for resale to keep the cost of replacing parts down we saved alot of working spare parts. Most of my personal bicycles were a bunch of often disguarded spares. So I know that this would more than double the service life. Often it was the last time I needed to touch it. Other than wiping the excess grease away a long time down the road. If you do this before there is any noticeable change in how the bearing feels you can get tens of thousands more kilometers service. . It takes about 10 minutes more time than replacing with new...it's a judgment call but too many new parts into a refurbished bike and no profit left.

Large bike shops should have original spare parts. Also, find the website of the official Shimano representative in your country and there should be a list of bike shops with which they cooperate

These are just junk. Dug mine out and fitted two taper roller bearings and seals that I can adjust using the original caps. HollowTech is a just another way to screw money out of people, the taper roller bearings I fitted have lasted three times as long so far, and I expect they'll last much longer than that!
