The old ways are almost gone and for his sons to be so ignorant is a shame. I would pay to learn his hammock making skill! Very few care about tradition. Thank you for sharing this insightful video! Much appreciated!!!
when I take my children to Belize that's all they want to do is play/sleep in the hammocks . they can't wait to go back. p.s love this video thanks for sharing
Wow! I really wish I know how to make a hammock! It's very wonderful to see how he did it. Wish younger generations these days would gain some knowledge from elders like him & get to learn to do things naturally, so that traditions like these would continue into the future for our children.
who did the sub on this video? This is my first language and I'm sorry to say but you have majority of what he said wrong. He is actually very funny and sweet and you missed it :-(
Hi Anna. The translations were done live while we filmed with Mr. Choco. His daughter translated from K'ekchi into Spanish (she could not speak English) and then her husband translated from Spanish to English. The subtitles are verbatim of the live translation we got during filming.
the captions weren't actually correct. The person in charge of the captions should retranslate his statement. He was being funn and sweet in the video but it was missed by the awful translation
Greetings from Barbados. Nice Video. But coming from someone that is 100% pure Maya that speaks the same language, the translation is off. In fact I'm from the same district of Belize as Mr. Choco. Overall the video is great. Thank you.
Is mayan spoken different in mexico, belize and guatemala? Or is it the same? my guess is that bc of belize being now a country that speaks english it may have changed a little bit right?
Why are there so many idiots responding on this topic... Belize is an English Speaking Country, multi-ethnic in composition--- Get your facts together please!

My Grandfather use to make all kind of things with his hands, I wish that I could have learned these things.
shame when you don't know, that would sell in the U.S. for $250-300 dollars because it's hand made with natural material from nature
I hope his kids learn that. Perhaps that would stir their interest.
loved it and I would attend his school also what a great skill thanks for sharing!!
