@@tartanmadmancryptolifestyl9696 best thing is to look at the U2 plus I reviewed a few weeks back. That will allow you to do everything in one device 👍🏽
Aren’t you also supposed to connect to it via Wi-Fi? I’m having troubles where sometimes it connects just fine, while other times it says it’s connected but CarPlay isn’t displaying on the screen
Very unreliable. I bought this just over a year ago. After a few months, and a firmware update, it worked most of the time. As time went on, more instances of having to unplug and replug the Ottocast unit were required to get the wireless Carplay to function. About a week ago, it stopped working entirely. Note that I can still use Carplay if my iphone is connected by a wire, so the problem is obviously with the Ottocast. Today, I followed the instructions to update the firmware again. It seemed to be a successful update, but the unit is still not doing the job. Very disappointing.
@@neiledwards9719 have you tried a different cable? Not that I experienced it with this box. But some of the others have cheap cables that stop working.
Hi community , i own a vw polo 2022 with wired android auto. I bought a ottocast a2air dongle to make the aa connection wireless. Now i followed all instructions but am getting an error that says "error : usb connection" The manual of the dongle states that i have to enable wireless aa in the aa app ?! That option i cannot find anywhere... I there a solution for my case ? i tried diff. usb c cables and the car is brand new so that aint the problem.
very good video, 👍👍i have purchased the adapter but, siri voice, doesn’t come, just the icon shows up but the sound doesn’t come on the car speakers, any advice on this,
Not sure 100% on what you mean. Everytime you answer the phone if you're connected to the device it will play through the car speakers. You manually have to change the audio to route through your phone if needed.
Hi Collin, Thanks for watching. Nope all of their products that I have tested power up just fine from the same single USB port I use for wired connections. 👍
I chose the Ottocast U2-X-Pro. Most reviews gave it better marks for speed and connectivity. My son has the CarLinkit. The Ottocast supposedly connects more quickly.
Use code CRD20 for 20% off their website. Links are in the description.
does the unit come with UA-cam and netflix built in as apps or can you downloaded them on to the ottocast u2 air ??

Can I play videos from this like UA-cam
Did your car already have apple car play or does it work with MMI system without Apple Car Play?
Requires the car to already have apple carplay with a wired connection 👍🏽
How to switch another mobile?
I bought on. After setting it up, do I have to leave it plugged in to the usb?
Yep

Would i still be able to hear sound from my phone when connected or do i have to disconnect it every time?

@@CRD90 like if i wanted to use an app do i have to disconnect the whole device from bluetooth
@@gshdsshhdbsd ah, nope - your phone is free to use ( when its legal to do so of course 😊)
Can you explain the differences of the audio modes?
I read that ottocast needs power from two usb ports, is that correct?

Thank you.🙏
My car has CarPlay but the device is not working for some reason can someone help
does the box have to be plugged in indefinitely?
Yep
Would this work for a Nissan Sentra?
If the car has Apple carplay already then it should. But to be 100% sure you can check with the manufacturer
Good review. How does this compare with CarLinkit 4.0 ?
Not sure to be honest, they haven't sent me one out to review yet.

Carlinkit 4.0 lags music sometimes
Does it works with Android Auto? Regards.
No not this one, but there are other ones on my channel that do 👍
I use this and it works on auto android in my Volvo xc40
